Sorry to hear that... Using "PVR IPTV Simple Client" addon, the instructions on the page are pretty much standard... Sometimes, might need to exit and relaunch KODI after modifications, to allow the TV tab to be shown and populate the list.

Hey, no need to be so hasty... not all sellers advertise and sell android boxes pre-configured... I myself have bought a few and all came as stock firmware. I personally even prefer factory resetting first.

What Minix box model? Since you just got the box, here's my advice to you.
*Join the official Minix forum for device specific help and tips.
*Download and flash the latest firmware for your device. Do a hard-flash with a PC and not the USB/SD-Card method as this ensures everything is setup nicely.
*Don't touch the pre-installed KODI by Minix yet. As that particular version has been optimized to your box's specification. Check with Minix for an update to that as well, if any. Preferably, keep this as a backup for playing local files that won't jive well with a later update.
*Launch Google Play Store, download & install the latest KODI (V15.2). Don't worry, it won't overwrite the pre-installed KODI app.
*Manually configure and install addons. Its more fun this way as you only install things YOU want and can keep track of bugs.

For KODI-specific tips and tricks... Start with this thread... There are TONS of good info on here.... Congrats on your purchase.. rclxms.gif

Too bad bro u chosed a not-so-good aftersales seller.

Just google how to install the addons u want.
Infact better just install fresh Kodi instead of using the builtin XBMC.

question again, 2 actually.
1- let's say that i'm using genesis and watching a tv series which is hosting i.e vidic/streaming/mq. Suddenly my connection drop, reboot the modem and genesis can't find the the previous source. What could be the issue?
2- This does not confine to genesis alone, but why does sometimes source stream a different video/tv show that i choose from?

Yes one definitely can have both co-exist, as pointed out earlier... The pre-installed version is called "XBMC for Minix". Its a fork off the original XBMC app... Last year it was renamed KODI. So I prefer calling it that.

A source to stream from, is usually just that... A source to stream from. What an addon like Genesis does, is to simplify the searching process by linking stream-able sources with their respective media titles & in an organized fashion.. Well, sometimes, sources die (taken down or deleted), other times they r updated and replaced with better or worse links based on availability. Then there are the times (very rarely) when, say sources get mixed up. This is why the folks in the background who ensure the addon runs smoothly are very important to the community.

so what you are saying i just have to hope they are implying i need to wait for the next update to see if the url are fixed or not.
By the way, i've read on kodi that installing kodi on a cheap wirecast dongle(some said firestick) that they sold at lowyat is much better than the hardware i.e mqx805 box that i have now. Does kodi really don't care about hardware so much in term of streaming and displaying the video?
