press "return" button - the upper right button in the center of the remote surrounding the center circle with OK.

that button is essentially "escape".

Thanks.

I have tried a few steps before. Cannot remember which steps now. Just remember that it resulted in opening other pages and that ruined my movie watching! Ha.

Will try the 2 options mentioned.

Thanks.

Installing apps on the TV box will require granting the software some access to files (images etc), usage data etc.

I know that is the the norm with mobile phones now.

With streaming from Hdisk to the box, can the software then have access to the hdisk?

One may be opening access to others without really realising it.

Cheerio.

Ofcourse kodi will get access to the harddisk, if not how to stream?

No concern on Kodi getting the data from HD.

Concern is the installed apps (the ones which asked for some access during installation) having access to the HD data.

Its the same.
As long as hdd is mounted then any apps u installed also able to access it if they want, even if the apps was installed prior to u plug in hdd.
*
I thought there is network security in place to avoid things like that. And thus the apps need one's permission to access during installation.

Sounds like it is wild wild west for network security then.

Is there any Kodi utility (if I can call it by that name) which shows the download speed? In some chinese add-on, one can see the speed while it is buffering.

Thanks.

are you referring to this?

No. I have just watched that youtube before I saw your reply.

While watching a movie, the utility will tell you what is the download speed.

Available?

Thanks.

Press the letter "O" on your keyboard. Its not exactly download speed but you can see the size of cached data and % of cache utilized. How fast it fills up depends on your current net connection and source.
What sources...addon...internet speed...?? Plus a bunch of other possible reasons... You can always do a fresh start.. wipe data/uninstall and reinstall KODI.

Many thanks for the tip!

How to do that on TV Box without keyboard? Solution - get a keyboard! Ha.

Much welcome. I'm unaware of any other way to simulate that key press without an actual keyboard, but then you've already answered your question..  rclxms.gif Alternatively, check this out. It's a speed test within KODI, should at least tell how much bandwidth KODI has access to at the moment from the max speed.

Thanks. Saw the youtube on that last night.

Stupid question here, I tried to check to see which version I have now. Opened up Genesis (PC) and can't find a place where it shows the version.

On TV box, on Genesis startup, it shows a text file with version description. Does it mean that it has automatically updated in TV box?

Thanks.

Thanks!

Knew about Kodi version location a few days ago. My H8 is 1 version behind. But Nicety cautioned that updating may result in some add ons not working and need to reinstall these add ons. Too troublesome for me. So way out is to wait for next Kodi upgarde. They upgrade Kodi quite frequently.

Saw Add-on infor before and did not know that is where the version data is. They should put the version no next to Genesis in the main menu! Ha. Mine is already 5.1.3 version. Auto update for me, I think.

Thanks.

Watched some episodes of "3 days" on dramago. It does not put a "tick" mark on the episodes I have watched. How can I activate the tick mark? Tick marks help when I go back to continue watching the series.

BB
On Genesis, my daughter watches The Pony. For some episodes, it puts a tick mark and not for all the watched episodes. Need to wait till it has 100% completed the episode so that it will register a tick?

Thanks.

Preferably to let the whole video to finish playing it should auto tick as watched.
But sometimes its really buggy, just press "Menu" button on remote, or "right click" mouse to manually set it as watched.
Sorry duno keyboard shortcut.
*
Thanks. Will try the menu button.

I installed one apk "TV" from China. Pretty good. But the problem is it has set itself autostart when I start my Android.

Installed STARTUP apk trying to have some control on which apk should have auto start. This TV apk does not have auto start enabled in STARTUP but TV is still auto starting. What can I do?

Thanks.

tv2.0, this one?
http://www.tvapk.net/thread-117918-1-1.html

it's good.

it's just another apk like all the rest.

it should not auto start.

think your launcher is not functioning properly.

remove apk and see if launcher starts up properly.

then reinstall the apk.

if still no good, get help from seller.
*
OK. Thanks.

Any other good apk, pm me? Thanks.

Tried The Beast for my PC Kodi.

Cannot get to this source

http://chrisbwizard.pcriot.com/kodi

Later tried

http://spartanpixel.net/repo

Can get through this.

Later on installation, cannot activate Beast as there is no zip file downloaded. Then tried Spartan and managed to get this one going.

From what I saw on youtube, think the beast is better than Spartan.

Any one here managed to install The Beast? Like to know the source web site.

Thanks.
