Change back ha? hmm.gif  hmm.gif
I am not really sure. Seat post thing depend on you lo. Another friend brought a Nakxus foldie which is RM750 also very tight, and now the seat post already bercalar calar (it coated black with silver colour inside) because she always need to lower and raise the seat post to fix in her myvi. but she said its okay, bicycle meant to be calar not meant to be well kept. so it really depend on people. mine although is easily release and fall down once i release also bercalar calar already because it is metal and metal contact. so sooner or later sure bercalar one.

I knew that triangle stand below the crank. i really not sure about your model my wife TXC8 can stand well like u said.
Again it is just to protect your crank from touching the ground. most of the time the bike should be unfold.  nod.gif

One thing i can suggest is that, whether you can change the seat post on TXC8 to your current bike and see how it is. maybe that TXC8 seat more loosely design. Just my opinion.

I prefer not to confuse you more. ride your bike. as long as its function as bike to ride then enjoy it. Those minor minor thing i think dont really interfere with the function. <-- maybe i just too optimistic or easily sastified.  tongue.gif
Or think like me, if i really become more and more addicted. I wont buy new one, but i will mod it  cool2.gif
I will keep some money maybe mod it over the year.  biggrin.gif

getting more confuse now... rclxub.gif bro, ask you TCX-8 the tyre seem very botak and slim. But is it safe to cycle on the road? will it very slippery?

I might take H2D advice to take back the black TCX-8 and change the dented rim...after all, 20-25 seem bulky after fold. I'm staying in a condo, so space is limited. After ride i will always fold it and store at some small space. Hope i can get TCX-9 like you but again the bro said factory also out of stock.... sad.gif

that's very unfortunate of you for your first foldie.

I got mine from my aunty, a Element Cobra something which I Googled up and apparently it's an indon bike.
The bike itself is OK, but the folding clamp at the main frame is very very tight, and the one at the handle bar very loose, there's one time while waiting for the traffic light, the light turned green and I was ready to go, suddenly the whole handle bar stick folded down! Right on the road! Luckily it's in small town lah so hurriedly fix it and go. From time to time I need to tighten the screws to make sure the clamp holds tight.

well, the more compact your folding bike is, the more $$$ you need to spend.. so you got to compromise one to another.

20 inch bike is very bulky. the bike prolly takes up 3ft x 2ft of your floor space or more.

botak (no grip) and slim is meant for fast on the dry surface. If you hit pothole by accident, your tube will burst. Make sure you have presta valve converter if you know how to change tube/pump.

Never mind. Nothing to be confused about.
Just learn along the way. Any bike will be a good bike as long as you love it. And ride it.

Botak or not that again another knowledge. It is not totally botak. If you notice mountain bike tyre is botak type. Mountain bike is not botak. So from there you likely know that more bunga means more resistant on flat road. more bunga better for more earth jungle mountain bike kind of activity. So for the moment for us as started the botak type is suitable to ride on road and park. As u feel it more light to ride. Once we more advance later like our friend showed about the UGO with bigger tyre and more bunga type of tyre. Then that time means bringing foldie to more challenging terrain.

My main frame's hinge is very keras, so I basically unfold it the moment I got it and never fold it back again. I keep my bike at the stair case area (staying at a townhouse) with the handle bar and pedal folded, the length is just nice, and it takes lesser space (by width) than when it is folded...

Not a good idea to use WD40 and or any lube on seat post. This posses hazard in long run.

How bout loosen slightly the bold/nut of the seat post quick release clamp?

When I went to buy water bottle holder and fixed the bike's stand at local bike shop, I told the dude about the tight clamp, and even him as a guy trying to fold it also found it tight, so he sprayed some....I don't think it's WD40 but something similar I guess on the hinge and it got better...

I inspect that area but I donno where's the nuts and stuff that I can 'unscrew' a little bit to loosen up, but my friend had a look at it and it might be because of the paint on the hinge, so I try to see if can scrap off those paint a weebit loh to 'free' the hinge.

BUT anyway I don't have to fold it so no biggie lah haha

Do be careful ! The clamps must be a bit tight, if too loose, it will open up. I had one time the handlebar came down, so dangerous !

Now I am very careful to always test that the clamp is a bit tight. I also use a velcro to double make sure the clamp don't accidentally open up.

You get what you pay for seems to be true. So I am thinking about other bikes now.

Yeah everytime I wanna use the bike will double make sure the clamp hold tight with the plastic hook (maybe this is what you mean by velcro) secure it.

For the time being, still satisfied with it lah.
