actually i dont said it poison la.. it is more like peer pressure.. like if u join birdy gang, if you dont own Birdy, you dont have topic to talk about, and stay silent. Maybe dont join that group anymore.

again, it is up to individual. Everyone can suggest anything but bottomline, buy what you can afford. if you keen on Birdy,Brompton,Tyrell, Montague or Bike Friday, then just save up.

Bike is meant to ride. Not for display in the house, in the car boot, etc. So choose wisely if you dont wish to end up putting it in display glass, not store room. LOL

That's so right. each brand design has got it own advantages.. it just depends on the individual.

Tyrell is for speed, can't match this, montague, rough terrain, birdy, suspension design different.

All good in their own ways, all foldable. But how good is the folding? only when you try it then you know.

Folding design here is dependent on what the bike designer wants to achieve.

If Pacific, such small wheels still have people buying. Dahon is selling well, Tern too.

Just buy according to your budget and needs..... that's the best.

Actually about a week ago, I've decided on Brompton. Checked price based on the price list during the launch few mths back, thought it will cost about RM5800 with the specs I want.

Then I checked with the 2 shop that has Brompton, only realise you need to wait 4 mths if you want to custom spec it. If I want it immediately, need to just get whatever spec they have.

They actually have one very close to what I want, but its priced at RM6890!!! That's RM1k extra from the price list just a few mths back.

Because of that, I start searching again, which is why I was very curious of what your elusive bike is. Mana tahu, back to Brompton.... sweat.gif

Anyway, thanks for confirming my months of research of which folding bike to get.  notworthy.gif

oh can't wait too long... once GST kicks in, perhaps will be increased again.

yep all folding bikes have their pros and cons
buy something that will fit ur need
below is my opinion based on what i've tried

tern verge p20 = quality parts , fast (nice hill climb) & compact fold but ride is a bit upright due to tall handle-post ( wanted eclipse p18 there's space constrains - 3 bikes = 1 small myvi sad.gif )

jetstream = best hentam saja bike (can go anywhere) suspension really nice .. less vibration on stony roads .. not that fast and only 1 colour

dash p18 = fast (nice hill climb) feels like full size road bike (best) but non compact fold

brompton M6L= nice cilok bike ( maneuver in small & tight places like cars in traffic ) small & compact fold but not fast (need strong legs to climb) .. very expensive can buy 2 of the above bikes for a price of brompton. Hate the pentaclip thingy on the seatpost

pink bike = er nevermind

There really isn't a perfect folding bike out there, is there?

You have invested like what 15k there, still there is not one that can fit all your needs.

The brakes and the gears felt a bit off. Brought it over to make some adjustments yesterday.Attached Image

Then today, brought it to Putrajaya for a 20 km lap. flex.gif

This would be close to perfect folding bike for me.

Inspired by budgee, it is the titanium version, at 10.7kg, its not light enough, but its the lightest B.

Gear inches should be at 36" - 107". Should be fast enough.

The damage, direct conversion is about 8.5k, if order from Malaysia, my guess should be close to 10k. sweat.gif

Just came back from pedalspot SPetaling.. there is one last brompton for sale.

In the SS2 pedalspot, there are only two more left.

They took in 30 units and most were sold within a short time span.

Seems like hot cakes to me...
