Just came back from pedalspot SPetaling.. there is one last brompton for sale.

In the SS2 pedalspot, there are only two more left.

They took in 30 units and most were sold within a short time span.

Seems like hot cakes to me...

This would be close to perfect folding bike for me.

Inspired by budgee, it is the titanium version, at 10.7kg, its not light enough, but its the lightest B.

Gear inches should be at 36" - 107". Should be fast enough.

The damage, direct conversion is about 8.5k, if order from Malaysia, my guess should be close to 10k.  sweat.gif

why order online in sterling? just ask local dealer to order for you, in RM some more, should be about 7k with the luggage bag.

If it were me, I won't be considering the titanium model. The weight savings is just not enough to justify the costs.

Got to remember that once you add on the bag in front and the carrier at the back, the additional weight will cause the percentage savings in weight over total weight will be lower, if comparing all steel with titanium model.

Rather, I will get the bike and then I will focus on cycling as efficiently as possible.

After all, those people who tour the world on Bromptons have to carry luggage weighing 10 to 20 kg of items on their bike, which is more than double the weight of the bike. I think they do training until they can withstand the long cycling distances.

Owning a titanium brompton is another level. It is about status and exclusive. Lol.

If you extra money, why not?

Fundamentally, it is a two wheel still.. lol..

titanium wor.. confirm expensive la... hahaha.. the B can be lighter when you change some parts to titanium like screw, nuts and bolt. Change the seat, remove mudgard, titanium pedal.. lol..

but why u want light?

Light easier to carry lor. Main question is whether it's worth to spent so much to shed just some weight. This video explains it well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9RoAOTxlpM

haha.. if lady, I understand la..

But again, how frequent you going to carry? Up and down the stairs? Carry up to 17th floor via staircase?

If jus carry from the floor up to car boot, i think no need a titanium la.. haha..

I see some B owners prefer to roll than carry..

noooo... don't carry... just push it like a trolley.. that's the main design feature.

only carry up stairs or into the car boot.

Hi sifus. I'm a beginner in cycling and am interested in folding bikes. Now that I am deciding in between vigor p9 and visc p18 as both are lightweight. Vigor design looks stunning however at only 9 speed, is that sufficient for sloppy roads eg. 30 to 45 degree gradient? Which bike is more versatile and well balanced in road condition and speedy ride? Thanks

I want to avoid first getting a sub RM1k folding bike, and then a fast RM3-4k Dahon/Tern, and then still not satisfied, finally only a B can satisfy my needs.

Why don't I just jump into a B straight away... tongue.gif

The titanium Brompton is not solely for weight savings.... Ti22 or Titanium normally perceived as a weight savings alternative but in actual fact it does have the elements of durability and ability to dampen vibration in bicycle frame designs. Ultimately it has quantifiable abilities to damp when traveling over rough surfaces and resulting in beetle road handling and more comfortable ride.

This is personal based on the experience of the Bs that we owed.

ah hah... that is the normal progression.

Start from a newbie, buy a RM500 bike... after gain experience, upgrade to RM1k bike. old bike donate to relatives, because if sell only can get RM200.

With more experience with the RM1K bike join cycling excursions and groups, now can then distinguish what is good bike parts and what is not. with budget constraints now upgrade to RM3k bike, sell off old bike for RM500.

After some time, find out still not satisfied, sell of RM3k bike for RM1.5k, buy a RM10k bike... aaahhhh... now satisfied.

End up with a bike can do 100km, body structure changes to more athletic, wife takes active interest in this new hobby, becomes family pastime, buys more bikes. Takes entire family on cycling trips abroad, Japan, Europe, Singapore... etc..

now very very satisfied. smile.gif

Hi all foldies/bikey Gurus ! smile.gif

I'm fresh to folding bicycles as I don't even have one foldie yet. I'm planning to get one pretty soon but I would like to hear more from you all smile.gif

I'm a Penangite, the island part. Here's some questions that I'm having :
1)Bicycle's Shop that sells Foldable Bicycles
(Reasonable Price & Good Service is possible)
(Best if the shop do owns those entry-level bikes)

2)Brand recommendations for freshbie like me smile.gif
(Budget below RM700, may goes up to RM1000 max)
Not really well funded yet, but hoping that price can gets me a good one.

Thanks in advance for all your replies !
