Me too hehe, I think it makes sense, imagine if you in the middle of the game and if you switch off the console immediately, all the hot air will get trap inside the Xbox because the fan stopped running.

When in dashbord the CPU/GPU is mostly at idle state so the fan can suck out all the extra heat in the Xbox produced while playing games before.

I have a better way to do--Download something and torun it off. Of course, you need to enable to background download features.

^You want to put it at the back or at the side of it?

I'm thinking of doing it at the side of it, fresh air comes in on the side, hot hair goes out at the back, but it'll make you Xbox looks ugly though.

I know zypher & xenon sill died even with most powerful intercooler available....but mine's falcon and the heat at the external shell did reduced dramatically.

It's not only hot, it BURNS. shocking.gif

I heard that the Jasper's heat sink is hot rather than flaming hot compared to old system when full load, but of course...in air conditioned environment....

I'm waiting for another 8 months to see if jasper further reduce the 3RRoD problem. My console is still under warranty afterall cool.gif

what is saw internally in my jasper unit the gpu sink has a heat pipe going 2 wards the cpu heat sink meaning that the heat is transfered out of the gpu sink which is under the dvd rom drive,i somemore blow ac to the console the exhaust air is cold no heat at all.

it looks similar to falcon's cooling system:

thd zypher i used b4 is flamming hot even when i blow ac to it.

I tot the 2 heatsink design is there since Zephyr????

Just now tried falcon @ a/c room playing Sonic unleash demo...also no heat at exhaust at all..... sweat.gif

Some how I still attach that 2 fans and move it out from that a/c room.... icon_idea.gif

I just hate that the original exhaust fan is too weak so I DIYed the fan. it's a piece of mind for me, even though i know it won't help much if it comes........ doh.gif

M$ recommened let it stand vertically as the hot spot is at bottom if you let to horizontal.

You might consider add a notebook cooler if u want to let it sit horizontally. or just lay it at a flat & clear surface....

zypher dont have heat pipe from gpu sink bro start with falcon got heat pipe and i presume the cpu sink is also bigger on the falcon n jasper sets, falcon still make use of 90nm gpu size where jasper is 65nm as said in reviews that the 65nm sucks less power and dissipates less heat, hope my jasper will not get the dreaded 3rod.
