I had a G15 before until a couple of my female friends came into my room and saw that and laugh. It is just too ugly and isn't a chic magnet. I got rid of them. o0o Screw you G15.

When you look at the design nicely, it kinda looks like Tranformers. It looks like a toy for a 3 yrs old kid. I'm using diNovo and S 510 now. Those are not gaming keyboards btw.

lol...yeah. dun really fancy the G15. just wanna see wat others might have to say to it. lol...din know many ppl dun like it eh. compared to those in hardforums. hahaha...the G15 looks like some starship control panel eh?

i think can find saitek eclipse in lowyat. the bulk in here already closed long time ago. damn. how much is the retail price in lowyat?

there's many types of gaming keyboard. other than the listed ones, there's this DOOM 3 version of FPS keyboard if anyone remembered. it is hell ugly and not user frenly (other than, doom3?) from the looks of it. laugh.gif wonder who got that...

btw, sniperontheroof, i think gaming keyboard means a more expensive keyboard with fast response keys, supports multi keys at once feature, withstand excessive keypress? lol laugh.gif i broke my cheapo logitech white keyboard "a" key while trying to strafe in some games. tongue.gif gimme some money pls sniper...

try the z-board. I use one and i'm pretty satisfied with it.

Good for those who want something "spoonfed". In my case, i'm using that for World of Warcraft, first person shooters.

and i'm giving it a 8.5/10.

google up Z-Board.

The only thing i'll recommend is that if you're getting a Zboard, update your drivers by downloading them straight from www.zboard.com

You might want to check out their keyboard variety first, but what made me interested in Z-Board was the interchange-ability.

It may be cumbersome to many, but I gotta admit that I'm loving every minute of it.

agree about the g15 there.. why the heck would you look down at your keyboard to check your ammo and health?.. that just distracts your attention.. better to have it at the bottom of the screen no?

Nice keyboard.

By the way, can you purchase the keyboard only? Sans the mouse? The mouse they bundled with em looks hideous.

hmm... why gaming keyboard? Just a BELKIN NOSTROMO would be good enough isn't it?

In fact, I find that all these gaming keyboards are purely hype, nothing special.

The fact that placing keys in DVORAK or QWERTY positioning is not ideal for gaming. Z-Board would be a gaming 'board' but not quite a keyboard in nature.

And I expect degree of pressures from the key; imagine keys on the keyboard that response to how deep or how rapid you tap the keys and perform the necessary action on the game? Like say car racing simulation, a key for throttle, another for clutch.

Imagine one finger on 50% of the clutch key while the other on full throttle and another finger braking gradually while drifting? Balancing?

Or games on diffusing bomb? Snipping some wire and moving the bomb to a safe location carefully tapping those keys at 20~25% degree of hardness?

welp, more key strokes at once, more responsive keys....the most important thing, yeah, the hype, i'm a gamer, i'm rich, i have the cash to spend, i got my "pro" equipments, i feel good. cool.gif

i prefer normal keyboards than those weird placement of keys which we cant type/chat in game. i find it ideal for games. car simulation on a keyboard for a gamer? you must be kidding me. buy a racing wheel. hardness is totally pointless for FPS gamers...i only need hyper response(tm) keys plus some macros. the tapping tasks could always be assigned to my mighty copperhead.

btw, the steelkeys looks typical...i wonder if the key will make noise with all springs over each single keys...haha...wonder how much is it. cool idea of changable keys tho... thumbup.gif

keep dreaming for a green saitek tongue.gif

even tarantula i heard at launch only going to release blue.
red/green tarantula scrapped for awhile.

but the new saitek2 has 2 lights in it, red and blue, and can combine become purple.

Any of u fellas here thought about getting the Logitech G15. All I can say is, IT'S AWESOME! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

The graphical LCD on it is fully customisable with an LCD program. It can show anything u want, even photos n moving images. I programmed it to show my system stats so I can monitor all the important temperatures, speeds, voltages while gaming without having to Alt+Tab out of the game. It is coolness personified. Here's sum pix.

Does your Logitech Warranty Card is with you when you purchased that keyboard? Im wonder where's mine cry.gif rclxub.gif Maybe they accidentally not put it in my box or...

Hey.... That LCD programming! Are you using ready-made programs or you re-program it via Logitech SDK Tools (bundle with the driver CD)?

And I have updated the driver via logitech's website. The original Driver Included was full of bugs!!!!!!

Ianho, mind to share any LCD Programs with me?

anyone interested in the eclipse 2 ?

maybe can get if got 10 orders

price about 20 or so cheaper than the pcgame.com.my price
*
i'm able to get 10% discount myself without even a bulk order.
so the eclipse2 would be RM25 cheaper at RM230, but i dont want it.

i'm just waiting to see what the tarantula price is going to be.

Anywayz, Tarantula confirm doesnt have the "illuminated-keys" rite (all the keys)?.. like Saitek Eclipse series has... wasted....lol...

not showing off.
just saying your bulk isnt what it seems to be.
come on, RM20 off? wtf?
even a old auntie can walk into a store and bargain RM20 off.

basically any bulk where i dont see at least 15-20% savings, i consider it more like...
ok yea, if i can get 10 orders, i can get 2 pieces free myself yada yada yada.

even the blue eclipse, there was a special sale by ban leong for it at RM, roughly 20% discount, late last yr or early this yr, at some games carnival at mmu i think.
so if the blue eclipse can go that cheap, i dont even want to mention how low the eclipse2 can go.

well, the only other keyboard i own now is my old logitech newtouch.
its just as good, but the spacebar on my logitech is acting weird abit cos of the spring under it.
saitek keys dont really lock up and respond nicely.
i can press up to 6 keys at the same time which is more than enough for the fps games i play.
my only wish is the keyboard was lower.

before i also bought the logitech ultra flat, that was nice, but the keys were too close together, almost like laptop.

and from where you heard the wordings can fade away?
my red eclipse since jan this yr, nothing has faded yet from almost every nite playing fps.

zx7177 - you using the same keyboard? lol...damn my keys sometimes even stuck! in CSS, if pressed "S" (move backwards) too long, the key will stuck. then my character can auto walk back, hands free!

damn...see if i can get a good price for saitek la. LOL...only if i can buy in low price enough liaw. if the end bulk price is like wat everdying said, just around 20 ringgit difference, then there's no point. ahhh...so frustrated with current keyboard...

edit: hey, guess the razer tarantula wont have green? as the keys arent back lit like saitek. tehre might be a green battle light tho. it is kinda gay to attach a lamp post to your keyboard. LOL...i dun mind the razer without lights...but the lamp post battle light is WTF!!! hahaha... laugh.gif

actually notice only the macro keys on both sides are backlit.
plus of cos the razer logo.
all in boring blue tongue.gif

backlit keys actually i dont care much cos i can touchtype.
its just more for how it looks with all the lights off tongue.gif

and the battlelight is HUGE.
so looking at the dockstation and doing size comparison, can see the battlelight will extend way past your F5 and F12 keys.
the battlelight and battleeye it seems coming out early yr.

damn...see if i can get a good price for saitek la. LOL...only if i can buy in low price enough liaw. if the end bulk price is like wat everdying said, just around 20 ringgit difference, then there's no point. ahhh...so frustrated with current keyboard...

hahaha... my chapalang keyboard have that problem too after my com got struck by lightning and hav to change to a better one d. It's very irritating when u are fighting sm1 sudd still walking.. sweat.gif

try to think of that, he already stated whole line below 1234567890 cant do, cant use, so he typed like that.
There is reason for that
I used to think that I am only the one which is having this problem lol.
Looks like it is the keyboard problem....

Most of the ps/2 keyboards i have used can support 7 keys pressed at once, importaint in playing games like O2jam. USB however, I have never had one tat can press all 7 keys at once. If i am not mistaken, it is called 'ghosting effect'. So, wat usb keyboards other than razer triantula can support this feature ? Cause I might be intrested in buyin one.

stop. u r trying to make urself look like a fool

ps/2 and usb 2.0 has vast speed difference (even 1.0 usb is much much faster)

this translates into faster response time, higher dpi reso, and etc

uhh we're talking about keyboards here.
wtf has higher dpi res have to do with a keyboard?
i do recall this is a gaming keyboard thread, not a mouse or whatever.
plus there are 2500dpi ball mouses which are obviously ps2.

as for response time, theres a new steelkeys 6G gaming keyboard made specifically for PS2, and it can have 8 keys pressed at the same time.

response time between ps2 and usb is not noticeable at all.
its the design of the keyboard, the movement/design of the keys, the contact surface etc that is more dependent on response.
alot of gamers still use ps2 keyboards, especially the old logitech and microsoft ones.
you telling me those gamers from then dont want to upgrade to usb keyboards?

heck even otakon, our local wcg UT/quake guy loves his old logitech newtouch.

so yea, again whos the fool?

relax dude, the guys just got sidetracked a little. They're still talking about gaming hardware tongue.gif

and like lucifah said, there are different kinds of USB (1.1 & 2)...which affects the USB mouse you're using.

back to keyboards...is anyone using Zboard? I saw it in Software Boutique yesterday and it got my attention. The interchangeble thing is just...something bound to go wrong, if you keep changing tongue.gif but what I really like is the feeling of the keys. It really feels smooth...especially the customized game buttons.

My problem is your lack of knowledge to refute his point and then bashing him, and using some faux pas reason on subjective measurement to refute his claim. Walauwhe, you can't even answer my question on the differences. Lemme give you a list

- Faster response rate due to USB's faster signal polling time
- USB implementation is closer to the NB the usual I/O chip
- PS2's speed has to be emulated or forced in most cases
- More voltage can be supplied by USB, thus you get fancy features without the lag
- Inherent limits upon PS2's speed
- Better flowcontrol and hardware based scheduling
- None of that mucking about PS2 bridges

Go back to conputerschool idiot. It's like saying bullock cart is faster than EVO.

But as far as i'm concerned, it still has no friggin LCD screen on it like the G15. Although the weighted keys and macros are nice additions.

Logitech has since corrected the problem, but the first batch of G15s had wear-prone paint on the keys, as evidenced by our missing letter A.

Logitech's premium line never drops price. The DiNovo was rm1000 at launch many years ago. It's still at rm1000. Look at the G series mice like G5 n G7. Out many months d. I can't even remember when I bought mine, the price hasn't dropped too.

But some of the A4Tech or cheapo keyboards also have the usb and headphone and microphone jack so i dont think it'll be the reason for it to be expensive.

Anway anyone what's the price for saitek eclipse 2 ?

I'm using G15, although bigger than normal kb but I still love it. BTW, my 'W' key doesn't work anymore after less than 1 year of usage, RMAing now. Play too much CS. shakehead.gif

lol..for me, it is not the size. it is the gay rows of macros and the design. i just dont like it. lol...doesnt look anything related to "cool" to me. laugh.gif personal preference.

the silver colored saitek 2 frame outlook would wear off or not? that's the silver thingy.

Dont worry, i can buy G15 anytime. it is cheap here, only RM300 and maybe i can get a lil lower. just hold back to wait for good news from tarantula.
how to know whether ur G15 is 1st or 2nd batch? btw...how many key can be pressed at once for g15 and saitek eclipse 2? no eclipse 2 user here feedback. if u wanna feedback, just dont say "good!" or "bagus!"...tell us what it makes u say "bagus" or "good" instead.

tarantula can press up to 10 keys (unless u have more fingers) laugh.gif using the latest firmware so i read. hm...still, there's some bugs. gonna see how fast razer rectify this.

Dont worry, i can buy G15 anytime. it is cheap here, only RM300 and maybe i can get a lil lower. just hold back to wait for good news from tarantula.
how to know whether ur G15 is 1st or 2nd batch? btw...how many key can be pressed at once for g15 and saitek eclipse 2? no eclipse 2 user here feedback. if u wanna feedback, just dont say "good!" or "bagus!"...tell us what it makes u say "bagus" or "good" instead.

tarantula can press up to 10 keys (unless u have more fingers) laugh.gif using the latest firmware so i read. hm...still, there's some bugs. gonna see how fast razer rectify this.

i here also can get G15 for 299 la... lol.. no difference...

saitek eclipse 2 user here. i already tell the feedback what, i did mention the saitek keyboard i use all my ten finger still can type. th key are silence. the light are excellent. one thing is the light for num lock, cap lock and scroll lock are blue in color, so if u change ur keyboard to red color or purple color, the light for the three locks button are still blue color. thts the thing i don like. the rest is very satisfy.

from my exp as a WOW gamer, i find that G15 is kinda good in the sense that it will display all my stats in the lcd screen and the program is implemented by Blizzard itself. the Gkeys are very good too .. cos it can store keystrokes which i find quiet useful.

The only draw back i can find with the G15 is the quality and the space in between keys. the quality of logitech is kinda questionable.

i own a G7 mouse.. and i goto say it is a shitty mouse and razer have better quality mouse.

after that i bought myself a apple keyboard just because the keys are closely packed together and the feel is so nice.

how do u fidn the 10 keys all worked by pressing at once? what software u used to track that all keys were sending out signals/registered? i personally liked the eclipse II over the g15...but the eclipse II really lack of features for that price. sweat.gif

RETAIL price is RM330.

the 325 you see here is supposedly a bulk price, not much of a discount anyway.

So easy lar. If ure willing to void ure warranty. Just open it up, remove all the blue LEDs n solder in ure new green LEDs. Done. There r many guides on the net on how to open n assemble the G15. This is a good place to start. http://www.g15forums.com/

Ya lor. The only thing attracting me to the G15 all this while was the LCD. From the pix in internet I tot it looks ugly. But when I saw it in RL it was really nice. Also the windows button lock is very very very useful. Does Saitek n Razer haf that ar?
My buttons no fading issue. By the time it fades oso I think G150 come out d. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

yo G15 owners. 3 questions.

1. Does your G15 LCD backside plastic/cover or watever u call it, has this nice rubber-ish coated feel? or does it feels plastic (hard plastic type)?

2. What is the color of your LCD tint? does it has this purple-ish/blu-ish look? or it is white?

3. The keys feels rough? or smooth on the surface?

thanks. just wanna find out how to determine a new or old batch.
btw, i read the so called laser-etched saitek eclipse keyboards also have keys fading issues. laugh.gif LOL... the G15 fades because the keys are transparent and only has black paints coated around the wordings.

macros, backlights, hyper response keys...and more gimmicks. we gamers just like to have everything that's slapped with "gamer" tag.

if i am not mistaken, the laser cut keys have their transparent or partially transparent part;mostly the alphabets/signs (for lights to go through) laser cut out from the black based plastic key block. while painted ones are those transparent keys painted black with only the alphabets/signs left blank.

fyi, saitek eclipse keys are also laser cut.
the keys are painted silver.
laser cut just means more accurate cutting of the key letters.

Okaaaaaaaaaay. I just spent the past 1 hour on playing around with the Everest program n it's really nice.

It's much much easier to use than what I had before this, which was the LCDStudio. With LCD Studio I had to use Speedfan n Rivatuner as well. All in I had to run 3 progs just to show my CPU, MB n GPU stats. For sum reason that was making my games stutter.

With Everest, all u need is 1 program n there's less work to do as u dont hafta link up 3 progs to show ure system stats. 10/10 for that. thumbup.gif Everest also has stats for both my GPUs. Rivatuner oni does GPU#1.

Here's a pic of my G15 using Everest now. I will b testing my games with it now to see if it makes my games stutter like Speedfan did. Hopefully all goes well.

Compare that to the previous LCDStudio, Speedfan, Rivatuner, I was using. It's not as detailed as Everest. Note there's oni temps for 1GPU in this pix.

Guys, i just got my G15 today, trying to set up shortcut keys for the G keys, but why some shortcut work and some doesn't work ? Tried for PangyaSEA and it launched the client, but tried the same thing for NFSC, it won't launch the game. How come ? foobar etc also doesn't work.

edit: oh ok nvm, installed the latest (march 2006 >_>, the one in cd is nov 2005) keyboard profiler and it's fixed. smile.gif

I just got the razer tarantula, my first gaming keyboard. 10 macro keys, 5 down each side, you can program then for up to 8 keystrokes, 200ms in between keystrokes (i am currently trying to give them feedback and encourage them to up the delay to several seconds for us wow'ers). You can have up to 100 profiles but only a few that are useful in real time.

It has a Profile key on the board which does 2 things:

If you hold down the profile key and press F1-F12 it will go to that respective profile.

Each profile has 2 keymaps, so you can have every key bound to an action, then switch over to qwerty style for typing.

Pressing Profile key by itself will toggle the 2 keymaps for that profile.

Regarding the 100 profiles, it seems that only 6-100 have full functionality for selecting an executable to work with, naming, auto-switching. Not sure what all the 1-5 lack yet havnt played enough.

So this makes Profile+F6-F12 really the only useful ones during gameplay.

For WOW I use each profile for a different character, and have not played with 2 keymaps yet cause I just dont have a need, but for people into binding every single thing and making tons of macro's ingame.....this could come in handy.

It plugs into 2 usb ports on the computer, and maybe my power supply is not strong enough because when I plug in my MP3 player to the keyboard I get "Hub does not have enough power to use your device", although I have not tried plugging anything else in. And have not tested this on a different computer with stronger power supply or more free ports.

You get 10 replacement keys, which are supposed to be for the 10 macro keys down the sides. These replacement keys use icons that seem specific for a FPS gamer, perhaps CS?

They designed this keyboard for the FPS gamer, but i'm working on making it great for MMO's also.

The only illumation on this keyboard is the 10 macro keys (which looks nice with the replacement keys installed), the profile key, caps lock, number lock, scroll lock, fading symbol on the bottom.

The overall look of the keyboard is fantastic! Typing is a pain I keep messing up my password, but you have to get used to any new keyboard you buy. Fast response is evident. I thought I would not notice a difference but it is there.

The multimedia keys are kinda hard to press but this is a minor detail.

The tilda key is very close to the 1 key, making it hard to press the one I want(being new to this keyboard).

My first day buying the keyboard I just could not justify it for the price, but now I'm loving it.

Another detail about the keys: The F keys are much smaller than normal and are hard to press, I'll get used to this but its hard being a priest that uses the F keys for healing spells.

Regarding reprogramming all the keys: The windows start key can be reprogrammed to any single key, I made mine LCtrl, so i just have 2 control keys next to each other and no chance of minimizing game in the middle of a duel. All normal keys can be programmed for up to 3 simultaneos keystrokes (no macro).

Even if you dont want 2 full keymaps, you can use the profile button to switch the macro keys, and have 2 keymaps with qwerty keyboard and different macro keys, giving you 20 macro keys that you switch out 10 at a time. (For example, pvp macros and pve macros), or w/e you can come up with for you FPS gamers. Maybe buying weapons and ammo.

OVERALL: Great keyboard, don't give up your G15 for it unless you want a smaller keyboard, this thing is pretty big and compact at the same time, thin keyboard, but long and wide.

I got a response from the company saying they fowarded my suggestion about higher delays in macro's to the engineer team. If this is true, then I love this company for taking gamer's feedback to improve product. Being that this keyboard is very new, they just might be doing that.

Hope this review was helpful.

Doh! Forgot one important detail.

The Battlelight and Battlecam accessories are not included in the box, at least not mine. And I have no clue how to get these, I do not think they are out yet, not on newegg, ebay, razerzone, no where.

All I got was the keyboard, software, a sticker, a manual, a box.

Currently you can have up to 200ms delay between keystrokes, im pushing for more like up 8000ms.....For example on WOW there is a global cooldown for 1 second between attacks (1000ms), and spells can take like up to 8secs to cast (8000ms), so to have like a dot macro for a warlock you need keypress, 3.5 seconds, keypress, 1.2seconds, keypress.......If they increase the delay between keypresses on the macro's then this keyboard is close to perfect.

when making a macro you can do no delay(which im not sure how long it will actually take, havn't memorized the spec's and im at work), 50ms, 100ms, and 200ms, in between keystrokes on the macro......only one delay in between each stroke, only 8 keystrokes per macro.

well you dont have to put a delay, if you do no delay at all im sure you are getting about a 4ms delay by default just because nothing is really instant.

it is possible to just do say 3up 3down 4up 4down 50ms 3up 3down, or w/e keys you want, so you do not have to use the 50ms if you want it faster.

And, just curious, what is an example where you need a specific 4ms delay?

I will probably just make my own with a usb light heh, btw the expansion "Battledock" is just a hole in the keyboard is ~1.5" by ~3", and has a usb female that is the same as the most common usb female in mp3 players/digital cameras/and pda's. So im sure its easy to make your own accessories for this thing, not to mention the 2 standard usb ports on the keyboard itself.

A pointless addon but its for looks. From the screenshots razer offers, it doesn't light up all the keys even, stops near the F key or so.

Guess some light would help if you are in the dark, keyboard far from monitor and you are trying to hit an uncommon key. Not so sure how much "advantage" it gives you if you can't touchtype to begin with.

been sticking with my z-board.

for an amateur level gamer like me, it has helped me alot. Playing games are very much easier for the pre-programmed keysets.

Just need to make sure that

1) drivers are updated
2) keysets are updated

and that's it.

been lovin' it, for its simplistic approach to gaming.

You'll prolly need alot of cleaning. Get a mini vaccuum, that's a safe, cheap and affordable device for cleaning out the inside of the keyset.

Oh, also remember that the wrist support is kinda fragile. I broke the two connectors from the keyboard to the base wrist support, but even just by pushing the the two along, the keyboard does not slide / move, which makes it a convenient when i need / don't need the wrist support. (because i can extend it, and it still doesn't move)

However, word of advise; always keep your databases updated by renewing your drivers once you put in a new keyset.

=)

Just like how i always renew my WoW keyboard drivers to prevent first time bad experiences.

Point to note; they have bad after-games services for warranty and stuffs like that, but generally they do listen to their customers.

Since u asked, now only i start noticing, its not loud but u canhear clik clak sound, tarantula feels v solid overall, not that g15 isnt, just that it has dif kind of solid feel to it. Anyway a little abt the g15 lcd, initially i thot its a gimmick which i will hardly hv a use for, but after using for awhile, with the numerous plugins, i think if i get a next keyboard, i will prefer to hv lcd.

below 100? i dun think there is.. G15, Tarantula, Zboard all between RM200-400...

it depends on the user.. Let's say like G15 , u can macro up to 18x3 Keys for shortcuts...
If u feel u need it then get it, if no then save ya money.. biggrin.gif
1 thing i like bout gaming keyboards is there are backlights.. ahaha

frankly speaking i wont spend near 300 bux just for a keyboard . how frequent do u look at the LCD screen at ur keyboard when u are busy fragging ? i admit the macro function helps alot , but oh well...its still about user preferences in the end wink.gif

yeah, it is like decoration + build quality + function.
and yes, it is purely out of our own will. and of course, preference.

My point of view is that, I bought a 1k-2k+ graphics card, and a total rig close to 10k. and why dont I use better keyboard + mice? Since those are what I touch/use every gaming/computing session. What is RM300 when your rig is more than 10 times the value of your peripherals? What are JRD rims when you drive a BMW? That's the concept I have, and I believe the quality of such products surpasses those typical ones. As I've break my RM25 logitech keyboard and my current RM30 easy deluxe has f**kin stuck keys, keypress arent smooth (feels blocked somehow). If you game as aggressively as me, you will understand how cheap peripherals just won't cut it.

toda6866: This is for gaming keyboard discussion. And if you cant afford or dont wish acquire to a rm300 keyboard, nobody's gonna laugh. you can keep it that way. As i mentioned, it is not a must have. Dont spam pointless crap here, kid.

Even a product cost alot, some people will still buy it. And how expensive or cheap is depend on a person own view. For example, my friend who using an AKG701 ( a high end headphone ) that cost 1.3k think it is reasonable while others might drop their eye just seeing the price

That LCD is extremely useful for extreme overclockers. I use it to keep tabs on the system while gaming. Of course I dont look at it while fragging. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif I look at it after dying between rounds to make sure all system temperatures n voltages r fine.

haha...thing is we are talking about the functionality of the LCD when u are gaming . the g15 wouldn't be named a gaming keyboard for no reason ( beside the macro key )..but still , i can't see the full potential of the LCD during gaming . as Ianho said , he wouldn't even look at the LCD when he is busy fragging

of course i do amazed by wat the LCD can do eg show temperature , display pics etc =)

Can't say which one better..
For me, in terms of price... G15 cheaper (offers a small LCD screen, 18x3 macro keys), Tarantula Expensive ( no LCD screens, no backlight(certain keys only, etc)... G15 have multiple keys to be simultaneously pressed as well but certain keys only coz when i play O2JAM, can't press all 7 keys 2gether which i set.

I didn't know the LCD had that much functionality. I've read the reviews and they said that the programs had to written ourself, that was a letdown for me.

But anyway, I'm happy with my Saitek Eclipse. Solid build, nice keys, and all the functionality I ever needed. Basicly I just wanted a keyboard for nighttime gaming. The Eclipse fits the bill nicely. The G15 abit TOO much for me lar. Simplicity is my game.

currently using the old NEC PS/2 Keyboard which is far better than G15, why? because it's cheap and can hold 7 keys simultaneously...brows.gif, anyway, i'd go for Tarantula, Razer's Fanboy here...whistling.gif

top class? it might be. but there's also bling bling for it, to make it more blingz, they even produce the battlelight. and the razer logo has this breathing effect like the copperhead. and all those are not for showing off? (well, show off isnt a bad thing afterall) rolleyes.gif i'm only afraid that the piano-finished surface might get scratched easily...

G15 has functional macros and LCD too. the backlight keys aren't that "bling-bling" if you compare to saitek eclipse 2 which has side under-keyboard lights (plus, able to change 3 colors). laugh.gif

its official.
the everglide gaming keyboard is CRAP.

i tried it in lowyat during the BF2 tournament, sometimes the key doesnt respond, sometimes respond slowly.
and the reason is under the keys is just one big circuit with electronic sensors, thats what makes it so quiet and also so crappy.

Been a while since I've talked in this thread...but I saw talk of more comparison between keyboards regarding performance and "bling". If you are not wanting top performance but want a fancy show off keyboard, I've seen a few that use imaged keys and complete underlighting. With the Razer Tarantula, it is plugging into 2 usb ports for as much power as it needs, every key on its own engine for hyper fast response and anti-ghosting. 10 keys at a time and immediate response (which I have noticed a difference from my last keyboard and my g/f's current keyboard) is far more important to me than fancy lights. This thing has a 2port usb hub as well to plug in flash drives or what have you, and between that and all the engine's, memory, its just not possible to have all that and a fully backlit keyboard. As far as "bling" on the tarantula: I find myself just stairing at the razer logo fading in and out, its awesome. I replaced the L1-L5 and R1-R5 keys with the FPS themed keys that light up more.

After using it a few weeks now, typing on it just feels amazing. I cannot go back to a normal keyboard now. I occasionally switch with my g/f's computer and use a microsoft keyboard that is not for gaming. Has no anti-ghosting, I cannot even angle-jump on WoW, and just does not feel as good.

you are not from razerzone are u? and from the way u talk, u arent malaysian. anyways, what's so special about tarantula's usb ports? it is only usb1.1, instead of 2.0. Logitech G15 has them too, same 1.1. yawn.gif my high speed USB drive would only operate in 1.1 mode on these ports so what's the point.

I dont care about the bling, it is ok without one. but the battlelight looks stupid. glad it is only an add-on tho. regarding the only attraction to this keyboard, the anti ghosting, i havent read any reviews truly tested on this one, except one chinese reviews saying it actually only registered 8 keys.

still waiting for more practical review for this keyboard. so far official reviews are all about good, while i read actual user reviews in forums, saying this keyboard is just too buggy. hmm... rolleyes.gif
and when the heck are they gonna release a green version.

one more thing to add: the glossy finish is easy to get scratched?

About the glossy finish, saw the video reviews saying that the keyboard is very easy to leave finger prints on it which is uncool. smile.gif

whether the tarantula is worth it or not, it's actually very much dependent on individual...since both g15 and the tarantula are almost the same in terms of pricing...

to me, i'm not really a hardcore gamer. i choose the tarantula over the g15 simply because i like the design and the comfort. the typing feel on this tarantula is much much better compared to my previous microsoft elite. i wouldn't compare it with the g15 cos i've never used one...

i can safely say that i'm going to stick to this keyboard for a very long time...as long as it doesn't go down on me...

the pricing that you gave is a bit biased though.we have to at least compared both in retail pricing.in fact you can get tarantula at 345 while g15 at 339...and iirc, i did mentioned that it's ALMOST the same in terms of pricing...

come on...why argue over figures...we all know that both keyboard's pricing are at about the same range... sweat.gif
