anyone know how to configure the modem - so i can block certain website by using the modem features such as NAT/IP filter?

lets say i want to block Rapidshare.com.

can somebody teach me how to do that? - i'll give more info about my network later.

The modem did not support blocking via domain name or regular expression. Only IP-based blocking is supported, and with the nature of rapidshare.com website, it will be hard to do.

I've installed my streamyx 1 month ago (RM77 1Mbps package).
they gave me a DB102 modem(made by TM) and i bought an Aztech wireless router(WL830RT4).. and we're using both LAN cable and wireless.
The modem now i using is the 3rd modem provided by a TM reseller(previous one all cant function after several days)
i having problem with frequent disconnection (the DSL light and Data light is ON) but the internet connection shows no respond..
msn keep disconnect(around every 10~30 minutes)
Have called 100 for assistance but nothing changed.
tried many ways that the operater tought me.. like not using spliter, direct connect, restarting modem, etc.

Anyone having same problem with me? or anyone know the solution?? Please help me.. Thanksss >.<
i enable bridged mode at the modem and PPPoE&DHCP at my router
1. What does DHCP relay and DHCP server means? will it affect my connections?
2. My SNR margin is 6db and 13db for local and remote and quite high on atten, do these value is making me dc?

thanks in advance.. having problem for 1 month already.. sad.gif

I think the SNR is the culprit for your problem. You may try complaining to the hotline and report about the SNR loss problem.

Whether the modem is in router or bridge mode, you should be able to access the web config.

Connecting Linksys WRT54G (with DDWRT) and DB102

This guide will enable you to access the Wireless Router (WRT54G) and your Modem (DB102). You'll then will be able to tweak your modem and router at the same time. The end result, You'll be able to access your router on 10.0.0.1 and your modem on 192.168.1.1

The problem most people have is that once you've connected the modem and router together, you are unable to access the modem configuration page. Since both of this device use the same IP address (192.168.1.1) to access the configuration page, you'll only be able to access the router configuration page only after everything is connected.

Steps We Will Be Taking
1. Configure router to be on a different IP
2. Add some settings to make things work
3. Configure Modem to be in Bridge mode
4. Connect things up

Step 1
Connect your PC to the router. (Please don't use wireless. Things get a bit funky. Use a network cable and switch off/disconnect your PC wireless). After you're connected, fireup your browser and type http://192.168.1.1 at the address bar and hit enter. You'll be presented with the login page. Login with your username and password. You're now at the router configuration page. At the main menu (Top of page) click Setup.
At Interner Setup > Internet Connection Type select PPPOE. Fill up Streamyx username and password. Now scroll down to Network Setup > Router IP > Local IP Address. Change it to 10.0.0.1. Save your settings at the bottom of page. Your router will now have an IP address of 10.0.0.1 so type http://10.0.0.1 in your browser tbefore proceeding to the next step.

Step 2
Now Scroll to top of page, Click Administration > Commands > Diagnostics > Command Shell. Paste the command below

ip addr add 192.168.1.3/24 dev vlan1 brd +

Click Save Startup. This will make the command run during startup. (Note: DB102 will give your router an IP address of 192.168.1.3)

Clear the command window and type paste these commands next.

/usr/sbin/iptables -I POSTROUTING -t nat -o vlan1 -d 192.168.1.3/24 -j MASQUERADE

Click Save Firewall.

You're done withe the router.

Step 3
Reset the modem. Connect your PC to the modem (Wired connection please!) In your browser, type http://192.168.1.1 and login. Click Home > Smart Config. Select Bridge Mode and click submit. Now Click Admin > Commit & Reboot. Click Commit. Click Reboot. Done

Step 4
Connect Modem to Router. Connect PC to router (Wired or wireless, doesn't matter now) Fireup browser.

Now you are setup like this

Router: 10.0.0.1
Modem: 192.168.1.1

Enter the address for the respective device and you'll have access to it.

Enjoy.

Guys...i think im facing the same prob wif u guys. Btw, im using 4mbps connection. Everytime when im using the internet, its like cant get data for 10 - 20 secs in every 10 - 15 mins, but it doesnt disconnected from streamyx. I can get ping from the internet but i jz cant receive the data. After so much of reading from this post, i guess its the "SNR" prob as u guys keep mentioning. How to solve this prob? jz call tmnut's and said thats SNR prob? What should i ask them to do? Its been bothering me for a month ++. sad.gif

SNR Value? The higher the greater rite? What is the reading of the normal connection?

If DDNS you mean services like no-ip.org then probably no.

The manufacturer website does not have it. So maybe they did not provide any firmware for this modem?
