"unblock tech ubox" is a brand.

this co. may be using diff boxes with diff specs.

best u find out what android specs it is, e.g.
as i know this co. is more towards selling ahem iptv, i doubt it uses boxes with great ram or storage.

kodi... depends how and what u use it for - may need anything from 200Mb to 1.5Gb.

Is this the correct coverter for DVD player output video to VGA monitor?

Otherwise pls show me the correct converter (picture or link)

Keywords in that ad: Female RCA & VGA-Out.. What you should be looking for is VGA-In and Male RCA.

Something like this.

Pro opinion? Waste! Even the Supreme leader Nvidia Shield only ships with 3GB RAM. It's all about rock solid firmware on a good hardware combo.

QUOTE(Euthenics @ Feb 5 2017, 08:14 PM)
Just switch from Maxis Fibre to UniFi Fibre. Noted that a lot of streaming app does not work in UniFi while there is no issue in Maxis.

How do you all resolved the problem?

Thanks!

QUOTE(Euthenics @ Feb 6 2017, 05:07 PM)
Thanks for your assistance. For a LAN IP, it shouldn't matter as the user can choose either the default that comes with their router or change to one that suits them for specific reasons. But I supposed no harm in trying.

Just to check with you all. Do you all use Kodi mostly to play all the streaming app in your Android player?
Seems like you guys/gals don't have such problem when using UniFi all this while.

I went to a customer place once to set up the Android player but couldn't get those streaming apps to run properly as they are using UniFi and TM's router that comes with it. So I thought perhaps it's a UniFi issue. Even the installer says TM block a lot of streaming apps in UniFi as I was told but not sure if it's true or not.

So which are you? Seller...Installer...End user... rclxub.gif

Gotta explore everything when it comes to troubleshooting.

IMO, looks like the issue is from the individual apps or the box's firmware. Between the app fetching the content, pushing to the default player and the player playing it.. There's an issue.

To assist, you would have to backup and cough up the various problematic apks... Upload unto Gdrive or similar and share.. Send via PM if concerned about losing thy bread.. Tests will be run on Unifi network.

Alternatively, if you've got ample mobile data. Simply connect the device via WiFi to your phone's hotspot and test. That will immediately rule out a TM issue.

As a seller... It's generally frowned upon in this thread.. As are subtle marketing ploys. I'm sure you understand and no offense meant. That's what the garage sales section is for.

A picture is worth a thousand words... Yeah, sound how? Cuz VGA is incapable of carrying audio signals.. The player should have a separate audio out port(s).

Aye! Had to do a handstand just to view the image properly tongue.gif

Yeah, my initial suggestion should work. However, since that ships from overseas. Better to buy local... Can be bought quite easily from shops (I.e. Plaza Lowyat)... Faster.

QUOTE(carnby77 @ Feb 7 2017, 08:13 AM)
Actually if you wanna future proof, then buy 6 gb...else just get the 4gb one...will last you atleast 3-4 years...before better high demanding apps show up
*
Seems like you still don't get it, do you?... It's not about how big, but how it's used (Pun intended). I.e. I still use a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which was released back in September 2013. Mine is over 3 years old and with a new battery and custom ROM, still feels like day one. Android is pretty optimized, just have to know how to buy the right device and use it properly. Besides, in 3 - 4 years, there will be more powerful boxes.

taobao selling RM380 like that…includes shipping should be around RM420.
*
If you can still use your current device.. I'd advise you hold off for the soon-to-be-released box from Minix. Especially if you are a frequent Kodi user. They've teased the device last year and it should drop sometime later in the year.

Is it possible to use 2 bluetooth headsets with the box? or any android OS for that matter?
*
Use individually? Yes. Simultaneously? Difficult to achieve as it depends on the usual lot of factors. Headset compatibility, third party app (usually supplied by the headset maker), box's hardware and firmware.. Summary: do the test yourself and if it works..cool.. else, cool2.gif

To use simultaneously that is. Box is minix u1 if that info helps? Don't want to buy 2 Bluetooth headsets and find out later that it can't be used simultaneously. Maybe just buy cheapo ones to test first lol.
*
No guarantee that where cheapo one works, expensive ones will work too OR if cheapo doesn't work, doesn't mean that the expensive ones will not either... tongue.gif

Hi all, first of all a big thank you to all sifus here as I have learned so much about android tv box and recently purchased one myself. Just received 2 days ago and able to use it with all the tips given here. 😊 However, I wish to seek some advise, is it advisable to unplug the power of tv box when not in use? Or would it be better to leave it on standby mode until next use (as we does with android phones)? Thanks!
*
Welcome..

That depends on the purchased unit. Some devices ship with good cooling capabilities and will remain cool to touch even after a day of constant use. Making them relatively safe to leave plugged in and on standby. Mine (along with other AV/Internet equipment) is plugged into a surge protector, just in case... Always has power to it and because I can do a cold boot from a distance with the remote, we alternate between standby and full shutdowns, depending on how long the house will be unoccupied.

Usual disclaimer... Not going to be held responsible for a house burnt down.. tongue.gif

Hi guys, anyone here try before using usb speaker for the Android box?
Im currently using HDMI Vide and audio output to the TV.
Now the sound is coming from TV.
I wonder is i want to use USB speaker for my Android box will it work?
*
Since Android Lollipop, USB audio has been supported. Question is if the firmware included the option to send audio signals out thru USB.

Hi guys, I'm totally new here about android tv box. Been using Astro at home but I'm thinking of changing.
There are so many types of boxes now that I'm all confused of which to decide. Can anyone list down the models of which is suitable to the channels that I need?
I watch more English channels for example movies, entertainment channels like StarWorld and so on compared to Chinese channels and maybe some news and sports channels for my dad too. Budget prolly not more than RM400
Thanks!

First rule of being a newbie is to invest some time to understand the basic concepts.. Come back when you've understood that Android box ≠ As*** decoder.
