imo, that box is the best box himedia ever made!

ok... until an upgraded q5pro 16gb android7 comes out, i hope.

q5ii, q16, q5pro/q10pro have hisilicon chipsets.

h8 has rockchip, not as good as hisilicon.

if tv is still good, no need to rush.

but if time's up, get a uhd4k, better still with hdr.

u will be amazed with the upscaling and if applicable, the google androidtv inside.

it is a mistake to think such tv's are of no use now.

4.4 kitkat, even 4.2 jellybean is not a problem.

will work well on just about all popular apps.

as long as firmware and memory are good.

primarily becos most people don't care about dts/dd since they play audio from tv mainly.

secondarily, before the arrival of cheap boxes, most users go for better known brands that pay for dts/dd, dtshdma and ddtruehd licenses, e.g. himedia, minix.

my 6 yr old ac ryan and 4 yr old himedia can pass thru dtshdma/ddtruehd.

both can do bdmv's nicely too.

both are made in china.

my experience with so many of them:

.. paid or free, they will work well if the conditions are satisfied - broadband speed, supportive hardware, iptv owner maintains well, no harassment.

.. netflix is a prime example - u pay, they maintain good, u enjoy.

.. iflix is quite reliable but have a poor library.

.. plenty of evidence in kodi - very common to find a new addon that works like a charm, then die off fast becos the owner doesn't maintain anymore.

.. the numerous free iptv from china shows all can be good if owner maintains well and not get harassed or shut down.

there is more than enough of free good stuff out there. just need to know how to snatch them!

AC Ryan used to be the #1 media player 6-7 years ago.

i have 2 of them players, still good, well worth the money.

the dutch owners sold the co. to a singapore co. 3-4 years ago, manufacturing still in china.

i understand what u r looking for - mostly live tv but not on demand.

what u want is definitely not simple.

the way android boxes work:

.. need a good stable connection... 10mbps will be good, anything higher excellent for HD streams.

.. these boxes are just boxes, the good stuff comes from what u install, i.e. apps or apk's.

.. there is no such thing as "everything in it" - becos some apps will die, need new or the provider can't maintain well.

.. there hundreds of apps; some are totally free, DIY. this is the bulk of the discussion here, what boxes, what apps, what changes, where to get what.

.. some apps are legit - u pay, good streams - netflix, iflix, and i think amazon now.

if u hv the time n patience and willing to get yr hands dirty, u can get a lot of stuff incl HD. a lot of us here are enjoying good free HD stuff everyday for several years now. but if u hv no time, then go to a shop or IT center, get a package but it is not guaranteed 100% service.

my experience, a few good apps is all u need. u dun hv the time watch so much anyway.

tried them.

one is from india or pakistan, i think. very similar to something i tried before.

not good - not smooth, poor colors.

the other one is a mirror of rice.

currently both poor connection.

what provider change, what router?

likely u need to change the router ip, e.g.

192.168.0.1 is reserved for TM/UNIFI incoming and router.

ask yr new isp provider.

first find out what the IP setting should be for TIME.

then check what is set in yr box.

some devices auto detect and set, some don't.
