shifu sekalian, i hope somebody will help give me an answer
if have since started back gunpla for about 6 months or so now at the stage of learning paintbrushing and to make the model to look a bit more pro rather than just snapfit i have seen certain blogs, where they take pic of the model in grey primer then to show finish product as a comparison what is the actual process to built one from runners to completion? cut out from runners, then snip the nib, sand, then assemble, then spray primer, then disassemble spray individuals colors and then assemble it again? what about the inner frame? or those rubber poly caps parts? hopefully someone can shed some light to me, im trying to build one now with customized and fully painted one. thanks in advance |

Correct.. or rather.. more effective method is snip, clean the nubs, sand.. then prime and paint before assembling.. assembling and taking apart to paint will send u to masking hell

Here is an update on Wing Raiser Zero.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « The shoulders look almost comically huge on 00's torso, but I like the look - gives it a super robot look. I also decided to paint part of Zero's legs blue to mimic 00's Seven Sword/G legs. |

if you use the leg to thigh connector like on Unicorn/sazabi... the ball one... it would look better...

QUOTE(edan1979 @ Apr 28 2014, 03:27 AM) if you use the leg to thigh connector like on Unicorn/sazabi... the ball one... it would look better... That would involve buying another kit, which i'm not willing to do just for a pair of hip connectors which may not even work with Wing Zero's legs. And before you ask, 00's hip connectors also don't work. Besides, my model kits are rarely if ever posed in a stock still position. Once I get him airborne and get his legs/knees moved around the gap will be far less noticeable. |

QUOTE(rx330 @ Apr 28 2014, 03:00 PM) https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1167507/+20 I think chriswoo is a bad comparison because he is a master alrdy if u can see, in the case of the shifu chriswoo i seen many in blog also do it in this manner, is it to have a rough idea how it is then plan out on the painting? Best practice is always to spray part by part as almost everything will be the same color and save u A LOT of masking and time.. u are free to do whichever method u wish, though like i said.. part by part is best because u can just spray parts with similar color in one go without worrying too much about separation |

QUOTE(HxiiiK @ Apr 28 2014, 03:15 PM) I think chriswoo is a bad comparison because he is a master alrdy ok thanks, hence is it okay for me to say i sand every part, then prime every part then i paint by colors, e.g one shot paint all white parts, then the subsequent colors, assemble, panel line, decal then flat coat?Best practice is always to spray part by part as almost everything will be the same color and save u A LOT of masking and time.. u are free to do whichever method u wish, though like i said.. part by part is best because u can just spray parts with similar color in one go without worrying too much about separation or i should just spray by category? complete the hands, then the legs, the heads etc |
