Seems I'm not so lucky. The transmission error not related to TCM so not under 10 year warranty. They need to bring down the gearbox which will cost 600 to check. The fix might be 3k for clutch or maybe up to 10k..

So I think, I will bring the car to outside workshop. Any input of what might the the cause? I think the staff talk about related to clutch.

Sorry to hear that bro. Hmm, usual issue I heard off is Clutch Plate or worst could be the Shift Fork. But 10K sounds a bit on the high side. Keep us posted if you don't mind.

Sure.. Talk to mechanic at outside garage. He suggest to change both clutch and shift fork and few other small thing like the rubber/seal. Cost around 4400. But this is depend on checking later. Also asking about TCM, he said around 2600.

3 weeks ago I asked around the same price but the boss mentioned 1 day to order. Seems like too many cars cannot wait for the SC and goes outside.
So Excellent Auto now also need long time to order? or the wait time is to fix it only?

TCM failure is a lot more serious then the deterioration of the clutch since the car is not safe to be driven on the roads anymore. Hence, I can understand why most owners chose to replace the TCM outside of Ford's authorised service centres instead of waiting for the free warranty replacement.

If the clutch is faulty, the car can still be driven as usual since you will only experience stronger or more severe jerking at low speed acceleration. With the TCM failure, the car cannot be driven above a certain speed of about 60km/h which is the limit, coupled with strong jerking and high risk of overheating of the engine which will require the engine of the vehicle to be switched off and the car parked at the side of the road.

Haha.. Thanks. So now even if I pull the car out from SC to Excellent Auto also need to wait for TCM stock already. This is really sad for TCM issue...

Very scarry to drive with a TCM failure as you never know what is going to happen as the car just behave erratically, at times shifting up and at times just stuck doesn't want to shift. Worst if it just suddenly died in the middle of the road haha..

OK, got my car back from Service Center with the TCM replaced. Drive like a new car feeling now. Let's hope that this unit last longer for me...

Hi guys,
Sorry to hear such problems. Damn nice car to drive if without these setbacks. Mine's a MK3 Titanium+, yr 2013
My TCM died at about 80k km, in 2021. Replaced under warranty. Waited bout 3 mths.
Car just went into 'neutral' as I was driving out from my factory compound. Luckily not in traffic yet. Shudder to think if this happens during exiting a roundabout with lorries/container incoming. I shared this scenario with the SC PIC. He got no answer, which was expected. I didn't give him too much trouble as he's a nice guy and helped out on some claims.

On door locks, yeah. Got it when I was 80km away from home. Tied it and drove back to service center to claim. They only approved the spoiled door and not the rest.
After a few months, another door got 'infected'. Requested the SC to change the remaining. It is so dangerous. The SC PIC requested to HQ and managed to get all door locks replaced.

Other than these, no issues apart from normal wear and tear:-

- top head gasket @~90k km(RM400+@SC) Expensive rubber sweat.gif

One thing to note the engine oil dipstick cost RM150 @SC. Please check if the top yellow coloured plastic part has become brittle. The SC changed it for me when they replaced the top head gasket cos they said the plastic head broke off and they cant check the oil. I bising them abit, damn pricey for a piece of thin metal! they replied from Germany. Aiyo. (If German so good, why BMWs and Mercs infamous for breaking down? Think my dipstick has answered this question. Haha) My 15 yrs old Kancil never needed to change dipstick. Malaysia trump Germany rclxs0.gif
So, bros, change it outside if it has become brittle.

I changed this gasket at SC cos I found oil leak after SC service. Went back and checks revealed was top head gasket. I would have changed it outside otherwise. Asked them why wasn't it discovered during service? Sometimes SC pun sebelah-mata-tutup punya kerja.

- absorber @~80k km. Gotten too soft and bouncy (different brand from ori)
- both front lower arms+ bush @~90k km. Creaking when go over bumps (ori RM1470/side, replaced outside)
- 3 wheel sensors (dun reli remember exactly, ori ~RM1xx+ ea, replaced outside cos cheaper than SC), and
- battery (ori RM800+, @ SC) replaced twice. 1st time under warranty.

Car still shiny berkilat from the many hours of elbow grease I've put in biggrin.gif

The door lock on my car(driver's side) failed last year or so and I replaced outside for RM600+ after 8 years. At that time I didn't know that the SC will replace free of charge under warranty. Earlier this year, the door lock on the passenger side failed and I got it replaced FOC at the service centre. They replaced all the other 3 door locks as well.

Yes, I agree it is very dangerous for this door lock to fail. The consolation is the door lock won't fail halfway when you are driving the car ie. the door automatically swinging open when you are driving. You will realise that the door lock is broken when you open the door and attempt to close the door whereby the door won't lock.

Some photos showing how I tied the door. Not easy and have to drive slowly too although the door was tied. 🤦‍♂️

With the TCM and all door locks replaced, hopefully the car will be good for another 7 to 8 years before another failure comes. By that time, the car would have been sold off I guess. The suspension of the car is already a bit worn off as the vehicle bounces more when going over road bumps, the reason I usually drive slowly when going over these bumps. The suspension will be replaced soon. The mileage of my vehicle is currently at 74,000 km.

Hi, I'm driving FoFo Sedan 2014 make and done about 185000 km since bought it in 2015.
I used to get 7.3l/100km fuel consumption before but lately it went up to 8.6l/100. A full tank now only gets about 370km to if lucky about 400km.
Is this normal?

Also based on other FoFo sifus here what are the best options for donughts. Mine is 205/60/16 and I do lots of long hauls.

And one more thing is my car roof liner is dropping and the leather material at the doors are getting loose.
see the picture below.

Anyone here had this happened and where did you fix it? Can recommend the shop.?

Thanks

Nope. I can go 650-700km a tank before low fuel light comes on, for ur reference. 50% start-stop traffic & 50% high way driving, roughly.
When I do whack it, worst I got was bout 500km.

I had the same issue with the door panels at the front and fixed it at this shop. WAH Auto. Price per door is RM150. Not sure if increased. A note is the quality depends on the worker who attends to the car. The first time I fixed there, the worker who dismantled the door panel is quite rough and left minor marks on the door panel after using a screwdriver to pry open the panel. Very minor marks though but I usually scrutinise the finest details. Other people might not notice it.

However, I am shocked that the roof of your car looks that bad. The roof of my car still looks fine. My car is year 2013 but low mileage. Perhaps exposure to hot sun may have accelerated the peeling of the roof fabric.

Thanks bro. Contacted the shop. Quoted 150 to fix both door panels (stick back the original pu) and another 650 for for the roof.
Will send the car there soon.
