QUOTE(kockroach @ May 11 2014, 03:57 PM) I've read all those negative comment on Ford service centre in Ford Malaysia website and it is really affect my thoughts in getting one myself. Experience of owing my first ford.. if u need normal service, better go for the dealers faster. If need to claim warranty I would head to PJ or jln ipoh( the so called general hospital for fords). Book appointment around 3 weeks. Claimed petrol cap took another 3 weeks to arrive. Friend's fiesta claimed the radio, took around 1 month.Appreciate the owners here can shed some lights. |

I did my claims at SDAC in March, got banged from the back. MISG is ok for the car to be sent back to SDAC. Total 3 weeks to settle. With 1 year warranty on the parts and paint(bumper). SDAC don't have a workshop, they send to their appointed workshop. |

QUOTE(SportyHandling @ May 14 2015, 09:29 PM) Okay thanks for the information. Jerking and grinding, to me is something that I have learned to live with, something that I consider as inherent characteristics of the car. They come and go, sometimes minor, sometimes a bit severe. Similarly I do think this jerking and grinding will not be eliminated completely being an inherent character of the car. I was just hoping that after the clutch replacement, somehow, the jerking and grinding will be minimised to a very low level. But after reading your experience as well as another one here on this forum, it looks like the jerking and grinding will persist (or maybe get worse) after the clutch replacement exercise. Not good. My baby born in 2012 & registered in 2013. Still using the original clutch but i do monitor closely for any leak. Got used to the clutch behaviour at the moment(slight jerking and occasional grinding especially when going up hill slowly). My observation is that every time when i really "push" hard, the heavy jerking and grinding will occur within the next few days. It will normally happen only once or twice, then it will be back to normal. Till now i have restrained from changing the clutch(touchwood) as i like the oomph when changing gears as a few review mentioned that feeling is less after the clutch replacement. Maybe before my warranty expires. My previous 2 cars were manuals, i guess that's why i have a higher tolerance on the jerking and grinding Before confirming on the focus, tested extensively on altis2.0, civic 2.0, Mazda 2.0 and Kia 2.0. Made the decision not to worry about RV and enjoy the driving experience for at least 5 to 7 years. No regrets at the moment |

QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Jul 14 2015, 09:56 PM) My car is also close to this mileage. Juddering is already a common thing with this car (the car jerks forward by itself even though you did not step on the pedal). Similarly I feel a slight loss of power but it is entirely based on feelings which is subjective. I didn't record any acceleration times ie. 0-100km/h but in one isolated case, the acceleration of the Ford Focus lost to the Toyota Camry when both my car and the Camry were at the traffic lights, sprinting up an inclined slope. The driver of the Camry was surely going for it, and similarly I was going at it too, but the Camry seemed to pull away slightly from my car. I didn't take note whether it was a Camry 2.0 or 2.5, but even if it's a 2.5, I got the feeling that the Ford Focus is not as powerful as it used to be. Likely due to the (leaking) transmission or something else. Yes, I have the same issue too. The first few gears feels very sluggish, feeling started 3 weeks back. After the 3rd gear it's feels normal. I have refrained from updating the transmission software since I got the car(2013, 37k millage) for the pickup feeling. Sending in for checkup 1st week of August due to long queue.I am still waiting for Ford to call and inform on the tentative date of the clutch replacement, and hopefully the car's acceleration prowess and juddering will improve after the rectification work. No weird sound from the engine though. The sound of the engine of the Focus in both moderate and hard acceleration is robust and nice. Unlike the roar of the engine of my other car, the Proton Preve Turbo which sounded awful during hard acceleration. |

Sifus here, just curious do you guys or gals do carbon cleaning on your cars? If yes, which the recommended way? Just read, GDI engines are notorious for carbon deposit. Mine is almost 100k km
