I change my GB oil in Johor Bahru.Auto lumina bukit indah. The formen there that suggest me to change the oil.

Thanks for the information. If not including road tax, the total payable premium for your insurance is RM2090.30. Still a hefty sum, perhaps due to the NCD which is not at the full 55%. Still, a big sum to pay for insurance.

Even though the insured sum (coverage) for my car is only RM55k, the total premium is still above RM1k with full 55% NCD.

I noticed you have RM450 windscreen cover for your car. THat may have added a lot to your total premium. I only have RM135 on my windscreen and am seriously thinking of omitting this coverage.

I no test the top speed...but I always accidentally drive til 180 - 190kmh without knowing...the car is so quiet n stable...at 190kmh the rpm only shows 3000+...i think can easily hit 220kmh...

Just some sharing...when u already at the speed > 110kmh at 6 speed...S Mode...u press the gas hard...it will only downshift one gear to 5th and u feel the acceleration is okok only...

However, if u use the manual mode...u downshift to 4th gear by pressing the +/- button...the response is damn fast...hit the gas hard to bring the rpm to 5000+ only shift up gear....the power of 180hp only able to be fully utilized...and the acceleration is damn fast...!! 5th gear rev til 180kmh and u still can feel the power is there any time...

250Nm torque is another great thing when driving in city below 100kmh...without downshift u also can feel the acceleration power at very low rpm of <3000...

In short...MK3.5 is really a very very enjoyable car no matter in city slow drive or highway speeding...the turbo power kicks in a bit beasty feel unlike other turbo car which is linear output...somebody like linear power output...but not for me...i very enjoy the feeling of sticking my back to the seat when I hit the gas hard on my MK3.5...hehe

Somebody say the turbo power in Focus is linear...but I dun think so...i tested the Hyundai Veloster n Civic...that's what so called linear because u will feel boring on hitting the gas on those turbo cars...

But u won't feel boring by hitting MK3.5 gas pedal...that's called beasty...!!

OK, confirmed it is the Transmission Control Module (TCM). Car checked in since 8am this morning and they just updated me that the Technician just finished the job and yet to test drive it. Car can only be pickup tomorrow noon. Strange thing is that the Service Adviser mentioned that they detected some jerking which I just have the clutch assembly replaced back in August 2017   

I didn't recall having jerking before the TCM incident on Sunday, but when the TCM gone crazy indeed the entire car shift horribly with engine rev going nuts high with sudden loss drive and suddenly the gear got engaged back. Hmm... strange. Lets see when I pick up my car tomorrow. What a way to enter 2018 huh...

The term engine molding sounds serious, may I know what is that problem? How do you know you have it?

TCM & Clutch

Guys, aircond hissing sound. Going thru this thread got to know condenser kaput right? How much cost if repaired at SC vs outside shop?

And also is it covered by warranty? Still have 2 months warranty from the total of 3 years

I did question the service guys regarding the door latch issue; apparently it is a common issue for the Fiesta, and hence Ford acknowledge it and replace it FOC;
For Focus however.. it was not as it wasn't as a common problem like the Fiesta; hence no warranty for it 

All I can say that, we have to treat and close the doors as gently as possible; we can't slam these doors like our local/japanese cars.
The doors are indeed heavy, but I find that it doesn't take much effort to close them, just grab the door handle, with a firm grip, gently push the doors to close it.

The Focus, really need to treat it like a princess.

How much u predict to maintain it yearly for focus? Says bad scenario that the clutch need to be replace annually.

I've been using the Falken Azenis FK453 215/50/R17.  No regrets, its quiet and you can take corners confidently.

Next repair was to replace the valve cover gasket which was leaking

Coil plug covered in oil

Remove all 4 plug coils held on by 8mm bolts. Loosen all 8mm bolts holding the valve covers. The screws cannot be separated from the valve cover itself.


Clean the valve cover, clean any residues on the cylinder head where the valve cover sits, and apply a thin layer of RTV silicone gasket for added insurance



Tighten everything down by feel ( not too tight as you might strip the bolts ). DONE! No more leakage.
