The constraint of his requirement restrict him to venture to common mechanical keyboard with standard layout, is the 1# which is volume control knob.
His requirements more to gaming keyboard with mechanical switches. smile.gif

I would recommend to buy separate volume controller.

which keyboard would u recommend if not for no #1? i could replace the knob with binding macro key with vol +/-. im using my keyboard for gaming mostly.

my 2 years logitech g510 have an important key spoilt already. s since i got some extra cash to spend this month. i decided to go for mechanical keyboard, hoping the keys will be sturdier than membrane type. so i need recommendation on which switch type and keyboard fit me.

1. must have media control keys. especially volume control knob. i always listen to my mp3 while playing.
2. have some macro key. dont need too many. i learnt that i dont use my macro button too much with my g510. 18 macro key is overkill for me haha.
3. must be easy for double tapping. i double tap alot in my games i currently play.
4. i think i would like the clicking sound too.
5. budget : no more than rm 500. the cheaper..the better.

will be going to lowyat plaza this saturday and buy the keyboard
*
For logitech user that are used to their media control key, I suggest to stick with Logitech keyboard. tongue.gif

Hence I suggest you to buy Logitech G710+ cool2.gif

The price is around 450 if I am not mistaken, do some google search and you shall find out. biggrin.gif

Knob not required. Using keys with media control, you can adjust volume up or down.

switches are expensive, so like logitech many macro keys will only add to the cost. I honestly think you should omit this doh.gif no point really.

cherry mx blue is most unsuitable for double tapping. you can refer to other gamers via google to find out the technical term why that is.

4. i think i would like the clicking sound too.

clicky is cherry mx blue, which you should avoid because of reason 3.

Ducky Shine 3 = RM 469
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2954639

you can look around and see if you can find cheaper, but i think this meets your price point.

i strongly recommend you test try the mkb first. Try and ask the seller if you can open and try typing on the keyboard if possible. You should also compare between Cherry mx brown, blue, red, black...... and if possible the topre too.

Using the knowledge we explained in the thread, other online sources, and your irl experiences, you can then figure out which suits you best.

If don't want second hand Filco Majestouch 2...
Then need buy from oversea like taobao. sad.gif
Or waiting for ComingSoonâ„¢ Filco to enter Malaysia market, need a lot of patience.

Or else look for other choices other than Filco TKL. 👓

Taobao got clear (transparent) keycaps too, but quality rise I not sure if good or not.

Around RM1 per piece, if getting in little quantity.

I knew there was a new thread when my email isn't overloaded with updates anymore hahaha.

I'm back guys, and I need some advice. I'm looking for replacement key caps for my Corsair K95, something like this. http://www.corsair.com/us/parts/keyboard-p...-palm-rest.html

Do you know any local sellers, or anyone here makes em?

Thanks.
*
If you can shop from US, corsair do sell them at their webpage.

Else, taobao got, the price roughly the same as what being stated in corsair site too iinm.
