QUOTE(dadudeneverabides @ Jan 20 2014, 02:46 PM) Highly bored. Looking for some colourful keycaps (I ordered already) to spice things up. But everybody selling damn expensive keycaps... hmm, i am guessing keycool? haha!As for my real question, what's the cheapest option for a costar stabilizer keyboard? Spacebar feels annoying nowadays :| locally would be rosewill i guess...but that depends if there's stock. |

QUOTE(justintga @ Jan 21 2014, 12:20 PM) Hi guys. Gave my Vortex Poker II a decent chance for a month and have learnt to “live” with the missing arrow keys and function keys but I’d rather fully enjoy the keyboard. Tbh, I don’t really use the arrow keys that much but once in a blue moon I need to do some spreadsheet work etc and miss the arrow keys. Also sometimes when I make typos, I want to use the arrow keys to move to the wrongly keyed in character and the arrow keys are just not there so I have to use the mouse instead. Requirements as below: i'm not sure what u mean by minimalistic look...but for sure u will like filco tkl.MUST - TKL layout with standard keycaps MUST - Cherry MX Blues Preferred - PBT keycaps Preferred - Minimalistic look, similar to the Vortex Poker II (love the look!) Budget RM400. Thanks!!! but unfortunately, it doesn't fit 2 things, it's not PBT keycaps, but that can be fixed by buying a separate pbt keycaps from garage sales or from other mkb forumer here who is selling pbt keycaps another thing is it probably will break ur RM400 budget lol! oh and one final thing, it's ComingSoon™ QUOTE(ik3da @ Jan 21 2014, 12:21 PM) Seriously no offense ya but lol this reminds me of this instead full size is always the most practical keyboard in any scenario, the numpads is darn useful when u need to key in numbers.» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « *I guess I am still very new to mkb - my preference is still full QWERTY set in either black/white frames/overall, TKL is a bit short for me especially when I am doing accounts/calculation. tkl is a good size, short enough to save u some space and it's easy on the eyes. but when you will miss the numpads if u ever use them before. 60% is a fun size, darn sexy and cute, but loses it's practicality. though, i believe with some learning and finger coordination skills, u'll be able to use a 60% like a tkl. and getting a numpad only board to complete the combo! but after saying all that, when u're in this thread, money is flowing away from your wallet yo! |

QUOTE(ik3da @ Jan 21 2014, 12:58 PM) Will stick with full size until I buy a separate numpad for accounting/etc y so susah brudder, use Google Chrome, when you go to taobao page, there's a friendly notification that ask you whether you want to translate the whole page into English. click on the little arrow and select Always Translate Chinese...and ur wallet will hate us both more...haha!On the money part, lol, absolutely true - I am checking out the taobao site even when I don't read a single Chinese word. Translating one by one via Google Translate and target to get some clear keycaps after CNY. |

QUOTE(dadudeneverabides @ Jan 21 2014, 01:08 PM) Cheaper to get clear keycaps from signature plastics I think. cheaper meh?But clear keycaps only can get polycarbonate right? IDK if got other materials that can do clear plastics. If you have can you share won't shipping kill u? or if u get cheap shipping, there's a chance ur keycaps is lost in transit. |

QUOTE(elairz @ Jan 21 2014, 06:15 PM) my 2 years logitech g510 have an important key spoilt already. s since i got some extra cash to spend this month. i decided to go for mechanical keyboard, hoping the keys will be sturdier than membrane type. so i need recommendation on which switch type and keyboard fit me. #3 and 4 MIGHT have a conflict with each other.1. must have media control keys. especially volume control knob. i always listen to my mp3 while playing. 2. have some macro key. dont need too many. i learnt that i dont use my macro button too much with my g510. 18 macro key is overkill for me haha. 3. must be easy for double tapping. i double tap alot in my games i currently play. 4. i think i would like the clicking sound too. 5. budget : no more than rm 500. the cheaper..the better. will be going to lowyat plaza this saturday and buy the keyboard #3, would mean red, black or brown switch. #4, would mean blue or green switch. but with that being said, i play games that requires quite some tapping as well and i'm using blue switch. totally no problem with multi tapping on my blue switch. you really need to go and try those switches out for yourself to know which one is suitable to your liking. i think the only keyboard that comes into mind is logitech's G710+ which is running on brown switches. (no clicky sound) the volume control is actually a scroll wheel. other than that, i really have no idea what other mkb that comes with a control knob for multimedia. a very gentle warning though. the g710+ doesn't adopt standard layout. and what i mean by that in summary is that should you ever want to replace the whole keycaps for that board, you will face some challenges in replacing the ctrl winkey alt spacebar modifier row. if replacing keycaps is totally not a concern of yours, then i can safely say this board should be suitable for your needs. RRP @ RM499 |
