Any recommendations?

and what should I look for while buying ?

how to identify a used one or brand new ?
*
Please look at the 1st page for more info about mechanical keyboard.
For recommendation, what budget of the mechanical keyboard you wanted to buy? Some recommendations also posted on page 1.

Money is not an option since it wouldn't exceed 1k budget, right? Before I look through those recommended Mkb, mind explain what's the difference between TFL, 60% layout and full size Mkb?

is it appropriate to use it for gaming?
The only Mkb I've heard of is Ducky Shine , their keyboard very nice looking (the pink one)
*
So, will recommend those mechanical keyboard <1k for you. There are mechanical keyboard >1k, easily hit 1k mark when the mechanical keyboard is custom.
I never heard of TFL. For common layout are full layout, TKL (Tenkeyless), and 60%.

Full layout. - Recommend: Ducky Shine 3
user posted image

TKL(Tenkeyless) - Recommend: Filco Majestouch 2 TKL

60%. - Recommend: Vortex Poker II

Which layout you like?

Yup. MKB can used for intensive gaming.
Do you mean this pink limited edition Ducky?

What a misleading video...The term he used should be 45cN not 45gram... doh.gif
*
Maybe for layman to easily understand I think, since 45cN(centinewtons) is ~ 45gf(gramforces).
Newtons to gram forces are inter-convertable.

The real keyboard enthusiast don't use mouse bruce.gif only keyboard. brows.gif

yes that pink one , I like thumbup.gif
I think if I gotta choose, I'll go for full layout since tenkeyless, 60% layout looks quite cacat sleep.gif
May I know how you all customise your mkb?

I'm using Razer Deathadder Black Edition, though I didn't use any mkb whistling.gif
Razer Mamba 5600-6400 dpi, you can handle ?
*
There are other layout too. Like 96 layout,
Here https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3105330
This 1 is custom. Overkill. Since you want full layout.

here https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3104950
A very godlike keyboard, fully modded by our abang 016.
Which the switch is vintage black, you can't find it at any mechanical keyboard in this era..
Features:
Base model: IKBC F-104
Casing: Custom spray paint to gloss black
Plate: Custom spray paint to silver, a bit of glitters
Switch: MX Vintage Black lubed with Kyrtox GPL103
Sticker: Brushed-gold metallic sticker
Spring: Korean 55G lubed with Victorinox oil
Stabilizer: Plate mounted cherry stabilizer, lubed gives no rattling sound, clipped giving less mushy feeling.
LED: TKL area is light green, Numpad is white
Cable: Custom sleeve dark grey with blue heat shrink

Good point is the keyboard doesn't come with keycaps, so, you may buy your prefer keycaps.

For the mamba mouse, I only set at 5200dpi rather than full 6400.

5k dpi is very fast, I can't get used to to that speed because my resolution just 1080p.  sweat.gif
*
Mine also 1080p =.=
But connected 2 screen 2 laptops screen. Total 4 screens, so, for scroll faster then use 5200dpi

QUOTE(PowerSlide @ Jan 19 2014, 10:06 PM)
wana try other brand now, been with logitech far too long hehe

not too fond or razer as well but im looking at the new steelseries rival..but RM205 for it kinda steep for my pocket  sweat.gif
*
Recommend you coz that mouse is world no.1. LOL

For a commoner, they more attached to full layout. Like you guys attached to qwerty layout for typing.
Feel weird with other layout. smile.gif
I think that guy say cacat coz he always use full layout keyboard in PC.
For those always use laptop, then 60% keyboard looks pretty normal to them. smile.gif

I used 100%, underused numpad.
I used TKL, underused F-rows and arrow.
I used 60%, now I wish got arrow. LoL...

Anyway, I'm a keyboard and laptop typist. But my keyboard got numpad too. Some can adapt, some can't.

Your imagination keyboard is like this. laugh.gif
Why you will underused numpad? for function row, I can understand a bit.

Your post sound that I'm an uncommon PC user.  laugh.gif Once you get too deep with mechanical keyboard, you will consider TKL even though without numpad. I once a full size user before.
*
I buy TKL and Full Layout because 60% very too common to me. laugh.gif
TKL and Full Layout are special.
Full layout got numpad with the same price, like buy TKL free 10 numpad keys.Voila~ thumbup.gif

i'm not sure what u mean by minimalistic look...but for sure u will like filco tkl.
but unfortunately, it doesn't fit 2 things, it's not PBT keycaps, but that can be fixed by buying a separate pbt keycaps from garage sales or from other mkb forumer here who is selling pbt keycaps whistling.gif
another thing is it probably will break ur RM400 budget lol!
oh and one final thing, it's ComingSoon™ laugh.gif
*
Here.
MX Blue Filco Majestouch 2,
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...087236&hl=filco

Will stick with full size until I buy a separate numpad for accounting/etc biggrin.gif My target is to spam my DS3 for at least 3-5 years else lol can't justified the chunk of money to my wife, hahaha.

On the money part, lol, absolutely true - I am checking out the taobao site even when I don't read a single Chinese word. Translating one by one via Google Translate and target to get some clear keycaps after CNY.

#3 and 4 MIGHT have a conflict with each other.
#3, would mean red, black or brown switch.
#4, would mean blue or green switch.

but with that being said, i play games that requires quite some tapping as well and i'm using blue switch. totally no problem with multi tapping on my blue switch.
you really need to go and try those switches out for yourself to know which one is suitable to your liking.

i think the only keyboard that comes into mind is logitech's G710+ which is running on brown switches. (no clicky sound)
the volume control is actually a scroll wheel. other than that, i really have no idea what other mkb that comes with a control knob for multimedia.

a very gentle warning though. the g710+ doesn't adopt standard layout. and what i mean by that in summary is that should you ever want to replace the whole keycaps for that board, you will face some challenges in replacing the ctrl winkey alt spacebar modifier row.

if replacing keycaps is totally not a concern of yours, then i can safely say this board should be suitable for your needs.

RRP @ RM499 laugh.gif
*
The constraint of his requirement restrict him to venture to common mechanical keyboard with standard layout, is the 1# which is volume control knob.
His requirements more to gaming keyboard with mechanical switches. smile.gif

I would recommend to buy separate volume controller.
