QUOTE(Buffalo Soldier @ Jul 14 2015, 02:03 PM) Is this what you mean bro? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-12972-XVS2...s/dp/B00440CWCG yes, i got mine from Brothers, but you can probably get it cheaper from other source.Where can we get it in Malaysia? What is H1, H4, H7? H1/H4/H7 refers to different socket, and must be purchased to specific. not sure what size XV is using. my impreza uses H7. |

QUOTE(fong928 @ Oct 15 2015, 12:19 AM) hi all Subaru owners here, depending on how new or how old is your tyre.I would like to check with you, with Subaru AWD, so, lets say you have only 1 tyre punctured and spoilt, then you have to change 4 tyres together ? or just 1 tyre ? AWD should be different with FWD & RWD in tyre maintenance, right ? if you existing tyre is still relatively new, then it shouldnt matter much. copied from manual: QUOTE The following precautions should be observed in order to ensure that the Vehicle Dynamics Control system is operating properly: – All four wheels should be fitted with tires of the same size, type, and brand. Furthermore, the amount of wear should be the same for all four tires. If you use a temporary spare tire to replace a flat tire, be sure to use the original temporary spare tire stored in the vehicle. Using other sizes may result in severe mechanical damage to the drive train of your vehicle. QUOTE Tire replacement The wheels and tires are important and integral parts of your vehicle’s design; they cannot be changed arbitrarily. The tires fitted as standard equipment are optimally matched to the characteristics of the vehicle and were selected to give the best possible combination of running performance, ride comfort, and service life. It is essential for every tire to have a size and construction matching those shown on the tire placard and to have a speed symbol and load index matching those shown on the tire placard. Using tires of a non-specified size detracts from controllability, ride comfort, braking performance, speedometer accuracy and odometer accuracy. It also creates incorrect body-to-tire clearances and inappropriately changes the vehicle’s ground clearance. All four tires must be the same in terms of manufacturer, brand (tread pattern), construction, and size. You are advised to replace the tires with new ones that are identical to those fitted as standard equipment. For safe vehicle operation, SUBARU recommends replacing all four tires at the same time. QUOTE All four tires must be the same in terms of manufacturer, brand (tread pattern), construction, degree of wear, speed symbol, load index and size. Mixing tires of different types, sizes or degrees of wear can result in damage to vehicle’s powertrain. Use of different types or sizes of tires can also dangerously reduce controllability and braking performance and can lead to an accident. QUOTE(^pomen_GTR^ @ Oct 15 2015, 12:44 PM) which in my opinion, is still the most iconic forester... boxy shape, low laying, sleeper look.the newer ones kept getting taller, rounder and tried to be more luxurious. |

QUOTE(pai3355 @ Feb 29 2016, 05:57 PM) yes, i've noticed increasing numbers of scooby, especially the cock-eye and hawk-eye generation on the road in recent years, and i've been suspecting that some are clones from our neighbor, because these models are all almost 10 years old and are all for scrap. |

i personally dont think RON97 is a waste, it depends on whether u wanna maximise the performance or not, regardless of how minimal that may be.. you can certainly daily drive it with RON95, as thats the minimum. Mine is usually pumped with RON97/98(SG) and i can certainly feel the difference when i had no other choice but to pump RON95 once. car feels sluggish and hesitant to rev.
It could be due to the better additive packages(in higher RON), i dont know.. but for those who intend to try higher RON, you'll have to reset your ECU after pumping full tank of RON97, or pump 2 or more tanks for your ECU to adapt. The timing might be retarded conservatively rather than advancing to prevent damage to engine.. |

QUOTE(littlefire @ Apr 4 2016, 01:54 PM) You might need to google & youtube regarding octane rating & what to use in our car. It is a marketing haox that petrol sellers always want us to pump the higher octane fuel to maximize their profit even thou our car dont need it. I have stop using Ron97, after i realize that my engine works fine even with Ron95. You might need to try a few petrol brand to tell which Ron95 is the best, but from my view Petronas & BHP does score quite good for me. i knew that video would be brought up.. watched it, and have tried 95. still decided to pump 97.Higher octane rating only will give those performance car more performance and if our car is just normal daily mover, i dont think the extra money will return more hp. You may youtube (fifth gear - high octane fuels) regarding it, they got a video on normal car pump high octane fuel but dont have any raise of HP! Compare to Subaru Impreza Sti which gain a lot! Want real result, go and dyno it after pump Ron97 or 100 nowadays. my regular workshop did remind me to stay away from 95, based on his experience with Subaru, which is consistent with what i've experienced. i'm not driving XV btw, manual EJ204 here.. |

QUOTE(Beebeej @ May 7 2016, 08:42 PM) The high quality of Forrester is well known in the western and northern world but not yet in bolehland !! Ya seem like not really any 2.0ip forester owner yet in the market and hard to know the quality as well as FC. Come down to sg, you'll see forester more than crv/cx5. QUOTE(LongExp @ May 9 2016, 05:00 PM) for picking up speed after moving, try down shift or a sudden gush (no flooring yet) the gas. Is like you hv to tell the car CPU that u want that gush of speed. possibly combination of CVT + DBW..sometimes i m wondering could it because of the CVT that didn't have that gear change jerk that make us think is lagging? i hv been driving manual for the past 20+ yrs, so i m still learning how to drive & expect from auto correctly. if this is your first Drive by wire car, you'll definitely notice the minor lag. |

QUOTE(Subang Nuclear Reactor @ Jul 12 2016, 08:53 AM) Dont do this people will curse you unless you can retrofit the auto-leveler system into XV, else there is no such thing as "full conversion".Either do full conversion and tune it properly, or dont do it at all increasing load in car or bumpy road will cause the headlamp to tilt upwards and blind opposite drivers or drivers in front, and no amount of "tuning" can solve this unless your headlamp is auto-leveled. just dont do it. |
