how you plug in the ipod ? cause evrytime i plug in , no sound ..

i remember seeing an option for ipod in the setup screen..
have u checked that?
maybe Ipod need special setting...

Hmmm.... I have a small issue about my XV. I drive 140 - 150km/h is fun, cornering steady .... but when stuck on jam, especially driving uphill, car stop, accelerate, stop, accelerate, stop... when doing low speed acceleration (10/30 km/h), car feel jerking abit... like manual car using 2nd gear doing low speed, but a while only ...  1- 2sec, you can see the rpm go up very quick then went back normal.

is this normal for subaru XV?

The cabin feels pretty good in general. Good viewing angle without any obstruction or poor design, like some Lexus cars where the dashboard feels higher for some reasons. Love the extra leg room at the back seat too. Its functional in general but it can be a bit plain but I am using it as a site car so I actually dont really care.

AWD is a good choice, IMO, better grip means better safety without having poor consumption. I am not too certain how durable is the car though, like will I run into major engine issues like some Korean cars 5 years+ down the line.

Hmmm, sorry to butt in but I don't think that's possible for the XV.

RPM = (speed x gear ratio x final drive ratio) / (pi x tire diameter) = (140 x 1000/60 x 0.695 x 3.7) / (pi x 0.678) = 2816

Or is that a typo that you meant to mention you're only going at 124 km/hr at 2500 rpm?

Just curious as I was doing some calculations for my own car.

RPM = (140 x 1000/60 x 0.772 x 3.195) / (pi x 0.742) = 2470

To add to more curiosity, the Forester 2.0 XT has even lower engine RPM at 140km/hr;

RPM = (140 x 1000/60 x 0.57 x 3.9) / (pi x 0.7036) = 2347

my colleague said, although the 97 cost more, but he got a better milage..

No I am using a proper HUD unit. Using handphone or tablet is not that good, because the screen is not bright enough for daylight usage and the gloss screen finish will reflect sunlight that will affect the reflection of the numbers.

But there are tonnes of others with different designs around. But I like this one because it can do 0-100km/h logging. And for better clarity during daytime, choose the white/yellow coloured fonts. Though green/blue looks damn cool during night time but will be hard to see during bright sunlight.

i live in a condo, so the distance between my car and the key might be far away most of the time.. so i cannot tell wheter it will trigger (on/off) by itself when the key is nearby...
i dont think the central lock works according to speed...
from what i understand, the central lock works after 5-10secs (didnt really time it) after u release the brake pedal for the first time after the car was unlock...

in ur case, auto lock after 10-30 minutes sounds wierd already, cos its not possible for you not to step on the brake pedal during those period..

i was told that its only a quick checkup.. just to make sure evrything runs as it supposed to...
no parts replacement, unless deem necessary...

any happy s-xv drivers?  what's the fuel consumption?

lol.... i dun think i saw any unhappy XV drivers here yet.  Just did my 1st service last Thursday and the engine seems much quieter now.  Road noise is minimal too but notice now can hear quite audible wind noise at highway, maybe because now only i drive above 100km/h.  My max speed only 90km/h before the 1st service. 

My mix mileage is about 9.6L/100km.  City alone i think is about 11.5L/100km.  The on-board average fuel consumption indicator is quite accurate. 

Anyone install the rear spoiler at Subaru SC?  How much is the cost with installation?  Thinking of fitting a black colour one on my white XV.

New Tangerine Orange XV owner here, checking in from Subang USJ.

My previous car is a 12-year old Waja. Therefore, driving the XV is quite a different dynamic, with the high driving position + 2.0 liter + ABS + Airbags + Commanding View and etc....

Will write about my XV here from time to time.

In the meantime, nice to see XV owners here!
