Really bad game. I predicted that Coutinho would make way for sturridge but BR chose Lucas instead. So much huge gap in the midfield in the 1st 45 mins. And both full backs get terrorized like boys vs men. We are lucky Gabby had to pull out injured, and the penalty was given.

Can't way we didn't deserve the win, and was like shouting goal when Suarez miss the free kick by inches from the post for the winner.

Was looking forward to Everton game but now dreading it. Hope results tomorrow go our way.

We seemed not to do particularly well againsts physical teams, well generally any teams will struggle against (overtly) physical team/player.

As must as it's seen as 2 point lost esp it's a home game, for the longest time I think we could crawl back from 0-2. (Even if luck may have seen as to play a part in getting the penalty)

BR will access this game. Like I said before we may have more home games on the 2 half of the remaining season, but it's no guarantee of maximum points. We'll shrug off this hiccup & continue our sights on getting 4th placed and above.

Johnson may have seen to have lost some of his defense ability but "defending" was never his strongest point (ie traditional type defender ala carrrager, and it's been said those type of defenders are getting rare & it's mainly due to the nature of expectations of the modern footballer. He (Johnson) still have some more from his game to contribute. We will see

From the bottom of my broken heart, this is the thing I want BR to know,
I expect to win, we end up drawing, from the first goal to the very last try

From the bottom of my broken heart, there are some times we are lucky enough,
I expect to win, we end up drawing, from the first touch, we were not good enough....

It is not the first time, BR get the tactic and personnel wrong.
I hope the manager master the tactical issue fast.

It is a point gain, instead loss of 2 points, if judge from the match performance perspective.

As I had said many time, defence fragility issue needs to be sorted out, if not even 4th place is hard to achieve without a good defence.
Defence fragility is one of reason, why Liv is not having good result (in fact, most loss) against top team.

We did well to get back into the game and despite the disappointing draw, coming back from 2 goal deficit will go a long way to improve our mentality. In any case, we tend to struggle whenever we play with a 2 man midfield - especially when Gerrard is one of the midfielders - think back to the draws against 10 man Newcastle, Swansea and the loss to Southampton at Anfield. The 2 man midfield just doesn't give us the same kind of control and possession that we normally enjoy with a 3 man midfield.

Yesterday we played a lot better when Gerrard was relieve of his defensive duty. The effect was almost immediate and we stopped conceding. Gerrard doesn't have to be outright dropped but that doesn't mean we should force the issue and complicate things. Right now he looks like a square peg in a round hole. It's not just an issue of whether he can settle into the new role but also the danger of other teams looking at him as a potential weakness to exploit. So not only has he got to play the role to perfection but he's got to able to cope with whatever the oppositions throw at him. And this is a real pickle, deep lying midfielders usually take years to hone their craft - that's why they are rare and why we still use the same players i.e. Xavi, Xabi, Pirlo etc as the benchmark.

Didnt catch the match in full as I was out, but still manage to catch glimpses of the match in the 1st half and all 3 goals - we didnt start playing until the end of the half....essentially this match is another new experience for the boys..it is 4-2-4 in a way...not that i blame BR for being gungho as owners flew in from the states and it is a match play at own turf's in anfield afterall..but the case in point, there is no triangle for BR to flip..that became our problem - our midfield stronghold was loose and there is no pressing both upfield and own-half....both fullbacks dint add credence to attack and defensive duties add to the frailties..having said this, it is the 1st match Sturij started, which means the whole team need readjustments..and mignolet had a poor game, and i mean games, not only yesterday but the past few games now...

The only few positives we had 1) our home record is intact 2) mentality of the lads is strong, the will to get back into the game is good 3) hendo came to grip with the return of SG...plus AV is no pushover, altho they are not consistent, but they did turn up yesterday..against Arsenal, they arent too bad either, could be a sign of return to form for the Villans, which itself is good, probably they could nick a point or two from other top 4 aspirants...

There is no quick fix for Mignolet, at best he is a strong no2...for now..

Remember the team is building guys. And BR is not off the shelves experienced manager compared to wut we used to haf in the past. Important thing is move on and learn fr mistake.

Cliche yes. BR had the right intention last nite but it didt work well. I mean how wud he know dat if he didnt try it rite?

We r 11 points better than last season. Dats 3 wins and 2 draws better.if we haf won Hull n Soton, we wudve been on top now. Dat little difference

Yup. Judge by end of the season. Pointless to complain now. BR make mistakes just like anybody who plays Football Manager without cheat code. Think the main thing is focus on next game and keep catching up. Other teams will drop points going into midway of second half season.
