Tu yg special.... makan sedap wooo..... cook sorang je, moral depend on him. So dia kena kreatif skit dgn makanan tu. Normally if sea outing 1 minggu.... menu x penah sama.

Breakfast biasanye... roti prata, mee goreng, bihun goreng etc
Lunch & dinner... chicken/lamb chop, mee bandung/sup/rebus...nasi sambal belacan, tomyam etc... macam2 lah.....

Sama mcm makan kt luar..... cuma cara masak different skit la...especially lamb/chicken chop tu...berasap kapal.

I recently found report on performance of SK's Chang Bogo submarines in RIMPAC exercises....perhaps LTZ could confirm that it is possible for a diesel submarine to perform this

"In international exercises such as RIMPAC and Tandem Thrust, ROKN Type 209 submarines have demonstrated superiority in the detecting and attacking of powerful “enemies”.

In 1998 the ROKS LEE JONGMOO participated in RIMPAC (as did HMAS ONSLOW). It sunk 13 warships (150,000 tons) and was the only submarine to survive until the end of the exercise.

ROKS PARK WI participated in RIMPAC 2000 (HMAS WALLER participated also, with great success). Considering the 1998 RIMPAC achievements, “enemy” forces kept a close watch on PARK WI, making it a top priority for sinking during the exercise. However, she sank 11 enemy ships (96,000 tons) and, again, survived to the end of the exercise without being detected once by enemy forces. Admiral “Big Al” Konetzni, COMSUBPAC at the time, publicly praised the performance of the ROKN submarine.

In 2002 ROKS NA DAEYONG participated in RIMPAC (as did HMAS SHEEAN). It sank 10 enemy ships (100,000 tons) and, matching the trend, survived to the end of the exercise.

In 2004 it was ROKS CHANG BOGO’s turn to take part in RIMPAC (as did HMAS RANKIN). It successfully launched a total of 40 simulated torpedoes against 15 surface ships, including the nuclear aircraft carrier, USS JOHN C STENNIS, and her accompanying escorts. It survived until the end of the exercise without being counter detected and without mechanical issue.

ROKN submarine performance at these exercises has invited keen attention."

DSA 2014: Charlie, Nuri and Satellite

As has been earlier reported, the RMAF Lockheed C-130H Hercules transport aircraft, as well as the Sikorsky S-61A-4 Nuri helicopter would undergo upgrade programs in order to ensure that these assets are able to comply with operational needs which are more flexible, widespread and ensuring safety of flights.

The MAF is still negotiating the cost of these upgrade programs said to be conducted by a local defence firm, though to be AIROD.

While the Chief of the Defence Force does not elaborate more on the C-130H upgrade program, he did mentioned that the Nuri’s avionic as well as other system would be upgraded to allow the helicopter to be operated day and night in any weather condition.

Last year, during LIMA 2013, former Minister for Defence, Datuk Seri Dr Zahid Hamidi has announced that the remaining Nuri (thought to be between 25 to 30 examples) that are operational would be upgraded.

Upgrade works, according to Dr Zahid include the replacement of digital display system, advanced gear box and main rotor blade which would involved a cost of around RM 500 million.

Nevertheless, as has been discussed in other post of this blog, upgrade works on the RMAF C-130H Hercules would involve avionics and navigation systems as per international aviation requirements. Glass cockpit would also be part of the upgrade program.

Nevertheless, these would be done in batches considering the fact that the Hercules fleet is one of the most hardworking in the RMAF, assuming myriad of roles and duties. Analyst thought that funding could be made available for four to eight of such so far. The works shall be conducted by AIROD and a specified foreign partner, thought to be announced during the coming DSA 2014.

Aside from the Nuri and the Charlie, also being announced recently is of the MAF planned communication satellite. The communication satellite currently being developed for the MAF is expected to be operational by 2015. To date, Indonesia and Singapore are two other ASEAN countries which have or in the midst of developing and operating their own respective satellite optimized for military application.
