previous i'm using the PC-007, ambient 25 degrees, core runs at 47-50 with TR ultima 90 with Silverstone high speed
now pc-a05,IDLE.
abient still 25, core runs at 43-47 with xigmatek 1283 with no fan attached. IDLE
at load pc-007 hits 55 with TR and pc-a05 hits 51 with xigmatek.

both at stock vcore and at 3ghz and applied with tuniq mx-2.
as for 8800gt with TR hr-03gt runs at 61 idle at stock no differ from the previous setup.

icon_question.gif Need help clearing things up here... Wanted to ask this for so long. tongue.gif

I want to build an sff rig. But i'm not so sure of which type of mobo can go in. Does it only support micro atx? Furthermore, will the latest GC fit in the casing? Like say, NV 9600GT?

@FidelisGVR
normally sff are using micro atx ,but there are oso certain media pc type casing which can support ATX mobo oso

normally all gc with standard height (cooler not exceed the top of gc) will fit.

well if its small form factor. definitely small mobo. yes, current SFF will fit 9600,8800,3870, not too sure with 280's or 260's.
m-atx, itx will be your choice of mobo.

Hey Doom, wanted to ask about your V350 rig. I can see from your picture, that your power supply is right on top of your heat sink. Wouldn't they fighting for air since both are blowing at opposite direction? Some CPU cooler will also work with sucking air instead of blowing down, may be u can try that. And what is the load temperature of the CPU? I am thinking of getting a samll case for my new HTPC, i like both Silverstone LC17 and Lian Li v350. But worry about the tight fit in V350.

hmm ,,, I have the fan configure to face upward .. means blowing air toward PSU and let the PSU to exhaust it through its rear vent..

I've no problem for both idle and load temperature on my stock E6600.. 30c to 38c ..

However with the new weird and awkward E8400 ... it idle on 40c and load at 48c ... but no problem ... system doesn't hang ...

Choosing which SFF case depend on ur usage and expectation from the rig ...

Thanks for the answer, i prefer both function and look as well. Thinking to build a raid array to keep all my HD media. Not sure i want to make it internal or external. Or within the HTPC or another a seperate system. Since all my HDDs in my CM Stacker and external HDDs are full. I dont really need performance for the raid though, since i wont use it for editing or photoshop. But just for data safety purposes.

From my experience, the new 45nm procs are actually hotter than the old 65nm ones. However, they can achieve much higher clock speed than the 65nm ones for some unknown reason. sweat.gif

@hypermax
Can't be bother by the temperature since all 45nm reading is a bit off ...

Generally it should be idle about 30c in 22c ambient ...

But no problem ... as long as it runs fine now .... brows.gif

No log means no overheat ... thumbup.gif

hm, actually the guy from the store where i bought the case built the computer for me. the power doesn't have a light, only a red LED flashes for the HD. mad.gif

specs? my computer is pretty basic for my needs, bought it for ~ 2000 RM including the video card.

Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHZ
Team Elite 2 GB Ram (one slot only so I can upgrade later)
Sapphire ATI Radeon 4850 512 MB ram
Lian Li case as recommended by Doom
Apple Cinema Display 20"

Would rather have a mac attached to it. Maybe I should try installing mac os on it making it a hackintosh machine but then again, you won't be able to play games, and my video card would be worthless, lol.
