Hi bros, my friend owned a Toyota Vios year 2009 i think. He car got a weird problem as in like.

1. When driving be it on high speed or normal speed, when brake , sometime there is a *tut* *tut* *tut* sound coming out.

2. Then sometime one of his tyre will suddenly lose air as in tyre pancit. But when to tyre shop and checked, found that there are no holes on the tyre. His tyre only 4 months old.

I think the problem only starting to occur after he change the rims.
*
My friend's 2010 vios oso got sound tut tut tut at bottom panel below Radio HU .
Apparently a common issue many are having in 2nd gen .

last time they tighten mine too. after 2 days, knocking sound come back. I strongly suspect its not engine mounting issue but the lower arm is the real cause?
*
Hmm. Let me monitor longer.so far I'm satisfied after they said tighten. The difference before and after is very big.

QUOTE(Js23 @ Jul 29 2014, 11:58 AM)
Saw a message from sales man at automotive garage written that  G&TRD spec had a better reduce noise than other J and E spec is that true???

Quietness
Acoustic windshield ( only for G & TRD spec)
Insulation material incorporated in between the windshield glass
to reduce wind noise
Stopper clearance has been increased to reduce engine noise
Sound insulating and absorbing materials have been optimally positioned
in order to reduce high and mid-frequency noise
*
Never sat in new vios E or J before, but I felt the noise is acceptable for me. I felt the sound insulation in G is better than Vios 2011 E model my friend is driving though.

Hi Js23,

From your experiences, which HU is worth to buy?

As some picture look similar & the price got a big gab also some with similar function.

My requirement for HU as per below,

1) HU with Mininum button on the right or left side

2) Support Mirror Link, so i can use it for my GPS

3) Support reserve camera.

I got no plan to improve my audio system. Just need dedicate player. I dun mind China brand as long as is reliable & screen quality is good.

Thank you
*
if your budget is around RM1500 to RM2000, better get Pioneer HU. Good sound and reputational HU maker.
The bad thing is they are not designed for Toyota , so you will need to put fillers at the sides of the HU.

Im currently waiting for Pioneer to release HU with Apple Carplay. Once out i will go install it immediately. biggrin.gif

https://www.apple.com/ios/carplay/
but dunno what the price and it suit to vios HU anot
*
I already asked the seller. The pioneer HU is compatible with vios. Will need to install fillers at side of HU and also buy a vios HU cover .

Below seller sells HU that supports carplay, but carplay is not released yet so once apple releases it, need install ourself.

I bought mine at rm350 from a TRd owner.
It's the lowest spec with the worst sound insulation. It's that noisy.
*
True. Even honda City lowest spec have no insulation at every part you can see.
When I open the Boot, I was shocked! It is just a skeleton...

I'm really torn apart. Alot of people have been telling me to get G. My own brother also ask me to get G. But I do not fancy the auto start button (can I know how reliable it is?) and the leather seat (very hot when exposed under sun). But I do like the 4 disc brakes and the better quality front windshield.
*
Just get it. I didn't regret getting it.

Btw I thought the seats will b very hot too. But I realise it's not too bad after all. Maybe because I got tint tongue.gif

Just put on some quality tints and you will be fine.

I'm driving the trd but I don't feel any heat on my seats even when I park under the burning sun.
Anyways, anyone felt that the rear boot shakes like mad when you open?

I'm wondering if it's because of me blasting my woofers too much till it became loosen or something but even when I'm not blasting and just opening the boot, it shakes alot.
*
do you mean by the bounce when opening the boot?

Toyota SC called me again after weeks I got my Roof silencer installed.

They asked me is anything okay . Good for them I said Its all good biggrin.gif

In fact originally the roof sounded like... Tang tang tang..now is tuk tuk tuk and there are times I don't even notice small drops of water.
