i'll be going to Japan next month (10 days), my original plan was from Osaka - Tokyo - Hokkaido - Osaka (flight back) but it's just too rush because the journey from Hokkaido to Osaka takes too long (even with overnight bus or shinkansen), so now i'll skip Hokkaido.

im planning to use domestic flight to save time...i saw pricing for jetstar domestic in japand and shinkansen sama saja ? haha...

land tokyo from malaysia > then domestic flight from tokyo >> sapporo
then sapporo >> fukuoka via flight
then fukuoka >> kyoto via shinkansen
then kyoto >> tokyo via shinkanse
then tokyo back malaysia...

nt sure 8 days 7 night enough or not ...

3 days in hokkaido
1 days in nagasaki
2 days in kyoto
2 days in tokyo

Definitely not enough if you're only spending 1 or 2 days in certain cities. My cousin recently had his honeymoon in Japan and even he agreed that 8 days is not enough.

hey guys i will b going to somewhere near tokyo mid apr for 2 weeks for training...so the onli time tat i can jalan jalan will b after 5pm on weekdays and whole weekend...do u hv any suggestions on itinerary during weekdays?im not too worried bout weekends since i will hv whole day to spend...and how much shud i bring?will 100k yen b enough?

8 days? too rush. u only get to see a bit of each place. waste of money. just concentrate 2-3 places which are nearer

gila ka tokyo hokkaido kansai in 8 days like this half your trip is just travelling to touch and go from place to place.
IMO 8 days AT MOST tokyo area + kansai area only.

So you are going to KL>Perlis>Johor>Melaka>Seremban> KL. Then you plan to go KL tower, twin tower, Mid valley, etc. Sounds like amazing race to me.

then it's enough, but just merely, u have to know, tokyo is a huge place, so is Hokkaido

For me, Tokyo area alone I can spend 8 days happily. Same with Osaka/Kyoto/Kansai area. Hokkaido no comment cos I never go before.

What I suggest is you go read up more details first http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2164.html ... list down what attractions / activities you feel you would really enjoy / really want to go. Then build an itinerary and see how many days you need for Tokyo (and tokyo area side-trips) and then see whether you have enough days left for any other far away area.

I'll be doing Tokyo - Hokkaido by train this April too, stopping by at Sendai and Aomori. Haven't plan out my itinerary yet but in the midst of doing so. But mine is 18 days. Wanted to include Nagasaki as well, but decided that it's too rush and just cover north part enough.

The last trip I spend 4 nights in Tokyo but not enough also, this trip gonna spend another 3 nights there. I doubt 8 days enough to cover, maybe just the main attractions only. Japan isn't that hard to plan, just need to take some time to read up and get some feedback from here on your itinerary and you will be fine. Yea, use domestic flights to save time. I notice travel agencies won't help out much if you don't buy their packages.

as i m going to japan for 10 days, is there possibility to mix JR pass and kansai wide pass to cover my whole 10 days journey??

here's my planned itinerary, did a lot of research, all the locations are planned so they are grouped in the same area (referring to google maps). reach Osaka on 6th April (early morning) and return to MY on 15th. any advice or suggestions are appreciated.
