1) hi im currently using roaccutane 10mg coming in to two months now.
i must say pimples and bumps are nearly gone but sadly REDNESS MARKS are still there.
can anyone help me out on this please?

2 )since im quiet busy with my work i cant go see my derm doctor often, but i read somewhere that i should increase my tablet intake from once to twice daily.
anyone out there recommend on doing this based on experience?
been taking once daily also makes my lips cracked till hurts, counter it with occasion apply of body shop vitamin E lip balm

im using lóccitane rice toner to cover my holes and occasion calamine lotion at night to speed up my face healing process for some lil puss breakouts.
been fighting acne for one year.
as usual all the stuff i've used but just got fed up with it and decided to seek for the doctor approach.

Hey everyone. I'm using 5% BP since PanOxyl cannot be found anywhere near my place. Everything else is the same as the regimen. What pointers should I take note of since I'm using 5%? Should I apply more moisturiser?

using roaccutane is bad apparently for the internal organ as reported by others but truthlly it really helps to cut down all my bumps in my face.
the down side i saw was only that it made my lips really really dry.
but sadly now im stuck with the REDNESS marks/blemishes as they call it.
keep reading a few pages back and surprisingly quiet a few also looking for a very good remedy for the redness scar after acne treatment.

i see our face is healing and but these SCARS REDDISH is still there thats making it obvious and hideous on our face.

just and went and bought Body Shop tea tree blackhead exfloiating wash and the tea tree blemish face night lotion recommended from a friend.
really hope my redness marks would clear, really satisfy with the no bumps face but sadly another obstacle is bestowed upon us.

will report back in like weeks time.

pls out there who knows any good remedy, do share

i dunno if this regimen is appropriate for someone on roaccutane but...
to get rid of scars

cleanse, then

1. exfoliate -AHA or Retinoid to peel away scars
- Paula's Choice 8% AHA or
- Avene Diacneal 6% + retinoid or
- better retinoids from doctors

2. treat
- Vitamin C serum from Kiehl's Powerful-Strength Line Reducing Concentrate (expensive, not 100% available locally) or
- Vitamin C serum from Vichy Bi-white Serum (not 100% available locally) or
- Niacinamide from Olay regenerist regenerating / micro-scuplting serum/cream

3. protect
- good sunscreen so scars dont go darker and darker while you treat
- exfoliators also make you more sensitive to sun (peeling the skin) so sunscreen is a must
- high SPF (UVB) and if you can afford, high PPD (UVA, european brands only, avene / la roche posay / vichy)

i'm thinking you can go for CREAMS if available instead of serum, since roaccutane dries out your skin. treatment side effects is reducing wrinkles. all these are products you can get locally **the brand is here, not sure they brought that specific product here. there are better and more potent (and expensive products) tho that you can get online/overseas.

once pimples problem is cured, use AHA facial wash to lighten the scars and use whitening products for red spots

I don't really have any good whitening products to recommend to you as most contains active ingredient which may potentially irritate skin thus lead to further acne.

Use at least SPF15 during daytime and apply elicina at night. The dark spots aka post inflammantory hyperpigmentation shall fade as time goes by.

Anyway, congratulation! wink.gif

Thanks for the advice. I might switch to other skincare after i finish my NeoStrata. What are your recommendations on mild products?

I'm not taking Roaccutane anymore as i don't see the need of taking it. But one thing i noticed is that my T-zone is no longer oily when i was taking Roaccutane. Now after i stopped, it becomes oily again. You have any remedy on this?
*
Try the products recommended under the regimen. The mightly Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser.

You could wash your face more constant with luke warm water and pat dry with towel. Then re-apply BP on acne prone area. This shall help you to minimize 'oily' appearance.

You can use Cetaphil Cleansing bar on your back. Change more clothes. Body acne is mainly due to hormone imbalance.

Some people take birth control pill to prevent acne as it intervene the hormone secretion. However, its not a good long term idea.

Thanks for notifying. Why not going forward forumers that come across any promotion for Cetaphil or Panoxyl, please do SHARE it with others? So that we could leverage on the promotion. Cetaphil is not cheap though!

Hi Jin Yee,

I have acne prone skin.. my previous skincare manage to stop my pimples but it caused dryness.. therefore, i switched to hydrating products but somehow it caused serious breakout on my face.. My face looks reddish at the moment..

I've just bought Cetaphil Cleanser yesterday after reading ur posts.. My face feel a bit tight after cleansing & I don apply anything else on my face.. i plan to get Cetaphil Moisturizer as i work in air cond room.. i'm worried that my face gets too dry after some time..

Which Cetaphil Moisturizer do you recommend? the cream type or the lotion type?? also, is it advisable to use Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 as well?

Thanks!

I used proactive solution and that costs me about 60USD for 3 months supply and after that I found a replacement; look for AcneFree by University Medical. Exact ingredients but with cheaper retail price 20USD (that's about RM62 right) and since then I stick to using it.

Oh ya active ingredient is benzoyl peroxide 2.5% for the cleanser and benzoyl peroxide 3.7%(for sensitive skin) or 5% (for normal skin) for the lotion (this lotion works exactly like how oxy 5 works, and with 5% benzoyl peroxide too) afterwards.

Hello Jin Yee.

Generally I don't have any serious acne problems, just some minor ones once in a while. However my face is always left with black/red marks that refuse to go away and they have been there for more than half a year. It's something like this:

Can you recommend any solution to this problem?

Olay Regenerist serum/cream should help, rave reviews from dermatologist and consumers. Basically any products with Niacinamide. I believe Olay White Radiance line has higher concentration of Niacinamide, but its less reviewed cos its only available in Asia.

Also could add 6-8% AHA toner, to peel away old skin cells. Paula's Choice has a good one I think.

Guardian is now having lots of stock for twin pack Cetaphil (2 x 473ml)with free Cetaphil Cream Moisturiser (50g) or Face Towel or 2 mini Cetapil skin care samples at RM75.88.

However it seems that none of the Guardian, Watson or Caring has PanOxyl 2.5%. Anyone know where to get in Klang Valley?
