i'm using the facial products from the facial shop ... recently a lot of pimples and blackheads appear in my face ... my skin is oily, dry and sensitive ... i'm not sure this will happen because i'm late to sleep and drink less of water ... i want to change the facial produtcs, any recommend??? and my back has pimples too, i need to use cetaphil that you recommend??? can buy it through watson???
Hi Swen, have you tried the tea tree oil line from the Bodyshop? When I used to get those irritating pimples, I used tea tree oil and it took forever but it eventually lessened from 5 pimples a week to one or two. One thing though, tea tree oil can make your skin quite dry. Another one that works is Proactive but Proactive is hard to find in Malaysia unlike in the US. When I was studying, I was using Proactive which was really, really good but too harsh for my sensitive skin. It ended causing my scars looking more visible.
For back pimples, try T3 Acne Body Spray which has tea tree oil in it...you can find it at Guardian or Watsons or even Carrefour. Then treat the spots with benzoyl peroxide 5% or 10% at night time. If that doesn't work, then you might have to pay a visit to the skin specialist and get a prescription for Roaccutane. Expensive though at RM200/month for a 30 day supply of the pills.
I'm 24 and I was still stuck with getting those annoying pimples, especially when I moved back to Malaysia. I tried everything from BP to TTO but eventually conceded that it was my hormones playing up. Roaccutane should be your last resort though, so try tea tree oil first. Cetaphil, in my opinion, is only used for extremely dry or sensitive skin. Some people with acne find that it irritates their acne as the formula is quite thick or creamy. I'm only using it right now due to my taking roaccutane, which makes my skin really dry, so Cetaphil leaves my skin moisturised and smooth.
Good luck and let me know how it goes!

Hi,
My fren have pitted scar, something like 'Tau Pei'. Is it recommended to go for laser treatment? Or just normal cleansing with Cetaphil? Will Cetaphil or any other products lightened the scar?
Coz he's 30 years old, a beautician at a beauty ctr said the scar can still be 'saved' with a treatment called something like Light Treatment, using a machine imported from France. Rm3K for the treatment, 9 times over a period of few mths. She said if old d, then the scar will be too deep and can't do anything about it d. Coz dun wanna burn rm3K just like that, so wanna seek for experienced advise.
Or is it better to go for skin specialist clinic rather than beauty centre? Pls advise as budget is limited and can't afford to go both beauty ctr and specialist clinic, thx.
Is he getting treatment from a licensed nurse or doctor or will he be getting it from that particular beautician? For RM3,000, I would suggest he go to a licensed dermatologist and get laser treatments or chemical peels as he's already spending that amount of money. When I was in the States, I did a Levulan treatment with IPL-light treatment (not sure if that was the same treatment that beautician is talking about) and the results were very nice but I started getting pimples again a couple of months later.
Tell your friend to spend it at the specialist clinic instead and have a doctor work on his scars. Sure, people may say that the doctors are all about getting your money (same as the 'beauty centres') but I rather have an experienced, licensed professional fixing my face than some beautician.
Btw, Cetaphil is only a gentle cleanser, it doesn't lighten scars or anything. Your friend should also look into using retinol products to lighten his scars. Try Avene or ROC.
