The i30 is an awesome car. 2012 CarBuyer Car of the Year winner. Designed and engineered like a continental car but with a Korean badge. I am saving money to buy 1 myself tongue.gif

Shares common parts with our other models so don't worry about spares. Servicing & mileage thus similar too.

There arent that many reviews from Malaysians because the car is quite new. If you check online reviews from other countries, you will see that you won't go wrong with this car. Rebates pretty good now but 103k is quite fishy lo

Perhaps thats the price before insurance n others..

Elantra FL for Malaysia?

For aircond controller, still think the current one looks more classy...

i take the mechanic with me that day and he can feel it too and promised to help me claimed for better absorber.. the camber kits that hq gave were returned as it's not suitable for elantra even they claimed it's specifically for elantra (as after short distance drive, can smell like sumthg burnt from tyres)

Hi everyone, im new here and got my new car a week ago.

I've read post most people talk about swaying issues which i also worry me when i got my car recently until last week i drove 130 along old LCCT highway i didn't notice the sway, it just bounce on the bumpy surface even over the speed hump.
meanwhile im less worring about this any more.
biggrin.gif
*
As look through some old posts, maybe I shud use the term "fish tail" instead of sway.. the car is like move to the left n right itself without our control.

Hi I know this is Elantra section but I am unable to find veloster section or just hyundai section. So I hope you guys don't min me asking the question here. Does anyone know if Hyundai Veloster fuel consumption good and if Hyundai cars is good enough to last many years. As there are people that says Hyundai cars cannot last 5 years, hyundai car parts are robbery (expensive), it take ages for parts to arrive. Will I still face this issue if I were to buy Veloster.

Planning to get a second hand veloster, any ideas guys. Any help would be appreciated. TQ.
*
I guess it depends on how you define the word "expensive" as well.
Some people consider 10-20% higher in maintenance fee as no difference, but some ppl consider it as "robbery".
I'm not sure about the maintenance fee for other brands except Proton (Saga) and Hyundai (Elantra).
I would says that the maintenance fee is about 15-20% higher for minor, and 25-30% higher for major (but bear in mind than Saga is in smaller segment than Elantra.)

Last weekend I went to have the chambers adjusted. So far the "sway" is minimized, not completely gone but it's better. Also the mechanic discovered my wheel was slightly mis-align.

Will test it out this weekend when I balik kampung smile.gif
*
better watch out..
they changed for me too but it was taken out later on, as we can smell sumthg like burnt from tyre after short distance drive (20km drive) after the kit being put on, and the rim position looks weird too..
to be serious, they installed it by using "user manual" and took them almost 4hrs to put it on!!

Drove today to Nilai i didn't feel the sway, so far so good the only issue found is driving in highway car move slightly to the left, also feel that Eco mode is very unpleansant to drive often working on gear shift in short interval than usual in off mode when car is moving slowly in a traffic jam.
*
It's quite obvious especially when one side of the tyres hit those uneven roads / small hole.. in very low speed, the gear change is not smooth to me (perhaps cos I drove CVT previously).

Finally got my car back after 2mth+ in the bodyshop. Anyway, just wanna ask everyone, if you heard a "click" sound every time you fully press and release your foot brake. Sound comes from near the transmission gear lever.
*
It takes much longer than your expectaions !! The sound comes when static or driving?

Both....whilst driving and motionless. Sounds like something locking mechanism engaging and disengaging.
*
If shifting gear from P , normally when pressing brake, it release the gear and the sound comes from this..
my ex-Saga cn hear it too..

Yours is 1.8 and you set air-conditioning to "Auto"?
Never hear such thing, service two weeks ago. Same 6 months for fully synthetic. 6 months is really long time for a service interval. Even if I do not drive your car much, I'll still send it in every 6 month. Better clarify with Hyundai Malaysia. Else you risk void your whole car warranty for overdue service.
*
Just done my 5k service on Deepavali Eve and still giving me 5k service interval (semi)...

Yes this is the common issue with most new cars. Even Audi. Mainly they use a new but thinner padding / insulation for the roof. It has better heat proofing and general non-direct noise (turbulence, echo, wind, tunnel noise) but sound proofing suffers under direct impact (rain drops).

I used to put a thick padding foam in my old City and that really silenced the rain drops. But too lazy to open up my Elantra.
*
I think the rain drop sound is coming from the windscreen instead roof top.. the design of car causing windscreen to be widely exposed to rain drops as well thinner windscreen too..

Receive a quotation from tokio marine... My car is 1.6 standard bought on december 2013... So its 1 year and they quote me market value is 65k... Seriously? 1 year car left 65k?

Still waiting quotation from other insurance co... Hope to continue with hyundai panel but the sum assured shocked me...
*
I think you can ask for higher sum assured, but of cos you need to pay more for it.. after considering your car price and discount u got, potentially is a drop of about 15k. The first year drop alw steep..
