Sorry if this question has been asked before.

My Hesstar Built In Glass Hob has finally died on me and I was looking for a replacement.

However, I noticed that built in dimensions of new hobs has significantly reduced that I cannot find a replacement for mine.

If anyone has any idea, will be appreciated.

My HOB measurement:

Unit Dimensions: 860(W)mm X 500(D)mm

Inner Dimensions: 760(W)mm X 420(D)mm

Went to PWTC last weekend. Very surprised to note that exhibitors outnumbered the visitors! I was wondering whether due to economy downturn or the haze? rclxub.gif

Hi, I will reno my kitchen some day in next month. How many plug points and switch required for hood, hob, oven and microwave? All to be individual or can be on 1 plug point and connect all onto it? will it overload and cause short circuit?

My idea is like this, should it be:-
1. For hood & hob: since the hob have it ignite and the hob have motor and light: 1 switch and shared 1 plug point.

2. For microwave: 1 switch & 1 plug point for its own. since it has high Watt.

3. For oven: 1 switch & 1 plug point for its own. since it has high watt.

Kindly advice the best or whats normally contractor did? and did I estimated to many which will cost a bomb?

Tq.

and @zheilwane,can you PM me Fotile & Rubine hood, hob, oven & microwave package. thanks.

When the duct meet with the wall, you can just put a exhaust fan there.

You can use in-duct fan booster. But check with the noise. Not mistaken, it is a bit noisy.

Just brought 1 of this 4" in-duct fan 12vdc. Haven't try it out how noisy is it.

Hi Ozak where do you get the in-duct fan?Thank you

Hi guys,

I have my kitchen setup as the drawing

it is about 4 ft straight then 90 degree bend and 9 ft straight to end.

My current hood is low end model, electrolux EFC9533X that dual purpose ducting or recirculation mode with 1000m3 horse power only.

It is really weak~ shakehead.gif

Any idea should I get the in line duct booster fan or exhaust fan (with filter) like kdk?

really appreciate lots

KDK is not enough to ensure air quality. You already invested in the hood. Seems like a waste if you don't allow it to do its job properly. 1000m3/hr extraction rate is pretty good but air extraction depends on a number of other factors.

Maximum length before you loose efficiency is 5m, minus 1m for every 90 degree bend. Your run adds up to 13 ft, which is almost 4m, including the single bend. Perfect. But that's only one part of the equation.

Calculate the CFM of your hood against the extraction rate required for your kitchen size.

- Volume of kitchen (length x width x height) eg. 4m x 3m x 2.5m = 30m3

- 10 changes of air per hour eg. 10 x 30m3 = 300m3 (note: the highest number I've seen recommended is 12 changes of air per hour and the lowest was 8 changes/hour).

P.s. Check the diameter of the ducting. It must be properly sized. Also, if you use flexible or ribbed ducting, this can contribute to noise as well. Another important thing is to note the BTU output of your stove if you use gas. And factor that into your considerations.

1) Hood 13amp normal plug with looping no problem, hob usually battery operated

2) Microwave low watt, 13amp sufficient. also can loop but do not loop with oven or high watt consumption

3) yes high watt, 15amp recommended.

10Ft is not too far, i have customers who installed FOTILE JQG 9009, EH10BQ or CTS 9004 upto 15ft also no problem but the hose provided is only 10ft by standard (could extend upto 12ft sometimes)
