usually you will need to put a trivet before placing the pot on your glass. Tempered glass can withstand 470 degree fahrenheit (243 celsius), i bliv with thicker glass quality can withstand higher temperature like oven glass can withstand more than 250 degree, so it depends on how long u have been cooking or how hot the pot is but placing it regularly on your glass will definitely cause scratches. As per photo, tested pot temperature can go above 300 degree, so it could break the glass

https://www.onedayglass.com/question/differ...-ceramic-glass/

Current FOTILE on offer with 5 years warranty for accidental glass breakage (1 time claim is free only)
Here is a simple test done to show how strong the glass is

Sudden change in temperature will also one of the enemy. Putting pots on it is ok if your pot material are not harder than the ceramic glass (most are not) unless you use the harden ceramic pots, and cast iron. Putting the pots may not break it but very likely will scratch it.

Please advise on Fotile hood EH13. I really like design but airflow suction seems low, is it sufficient as i usually stirfry and do a lot of chinese cooking. For hob, i am looking at GAG86210. Is this hob good? Cannot wait too long for GCGseries as contracter needs to confirm dimensions for table top! Pls advise. Tq. Also pm me prices if u know.

GCG 90201 and GAG 86210 has the same cut out size. GAG win in terms of flame power but GCG win in terms of easy cleaning, durability, scratch resistant drip pan, sturdy star shape wok support, dual low flame control and etc smile.gif
Tested GCG is even stronger than some brands with 5.3kW

EH13 is the most basic hood under fotile, if you wan to go for design and performance, JQG 9009 will be a better choice. Look, it is even sucking in the steam from the rice cooker even it is not directly under the hood

Hi everyone,

I am looking for invisible hood. I have done some research and found that only SENZ has this model and the price is reasonable, rm1400.

Any experience on SENZ hood? Any advice on my selection? Do I miss out any other model with invisible hood sold in Malaysia?

This is my comment, you can seek advise from your carpenter as well :

1) Standard wall cabinet height is 600mm while hood height is 750mm, so that it wont be blocking us while cooking. So, if we make it 750mm, we lose out in cabinet space and higher cabinet = harder to take things out from the cabinet

2) Standard hood depth at the smoke collector (bottom part of the hood) is 500mm+- and hob depth is from wall to the center of the burner is 300mm +-. So, Hood could efficiently trap and extract smoke.
Standard wall cabinet depth 300mm, this hood is 300mm as well, hence you will need to make your cabinet 350-400mm and this will cost a little more $$ and the hob will not be directly center below of the hood, hence not so good

3) Hood design is flat, no smoke collection chamber, not suitable for heavy cooking as smoke will tend to spread outside of the hood area

4) Using mesh filter design, require cleaning regularly to prevent oil from clogging the filter (recommended 1 - 2 days once) or else performance will drop a lot as oil is preventing air & smoke from entering the hood.

Do you have any combo for Hood + Ceramic hob + Oven?

House actually completes sometime in March, should I start looking for them now? Or will price lower as we move into 2017?

Price will always go up, never c product price going down...

well if you are not ready to purchase, it is good to survey around and shortlist what brands or model u prefer now and then when u got your keys only survey for pricing and purchase.

Hi folks,
i have an issue of a long exhaust about 10-12ft piping, due to the design of the kitchen, do u think a Fotile hood of 1450m3/hr will do the work or should I need a Robam 1800m3/hr. There's another China brand call Ouyi they have 1800m3/hr too but don't read a lot of good review online.

Anyone can advise ?

Even Fotile EH10BQ with suction 1,150m3 can support 10-12ft distance but the hose provided is only 10ft.

The higher the sucton power, the noisier the hood. Instead of high suction, fotile spend more on R&D to create more effective hood.

My suggestion for best performance is Fotile JQG 9009 hood + GCG 90301 hob. According to fotile technician, the JQG 9009 with turbo booster can go more than 18ft

As per photo, we cook a lot and the JQG9009 is even sucking in the steam from our rice cooker

The kitchen hood that I am looking for is those grease collecting type and not duct-ed type

Not sure if I can get one at around RM500-RM800 range?
