zheilwane, using your recommended Fotile EH10BQ now, how do I easily test whether it was installed nicely, hence perform good suction?

1) Turn on the hood and listen to the noise, make sure there is no weird loud noise like something is blocking or some rattling noise (something drop inside the hood such as cable tie.

2) GO out of your house and feel the air at the duct to make sure the wind blowing out is strong

thanks bro, will check on (2) thumbup.gif

Hi,

I am from Ipoh

Looking for a good Fotile Hood. My new house will be using combination of Ceramic and Induction Hob.

Any recommendation for budget between below 3k?? I had a look at Fotile EMS9018, look very impressive but i think maybe a bit too powerful as i am not using flame hob.

Do you deliver and also do installation if my house is in Ipoh??
*
fotile delivery is foc for penisular malaysia, right zheilwane ?

QUOTE(zheilwane @ Dec 26 2016, 07:07 AM)
Most slim hood has low suction 400-800m3/h, as it is slim, the hood is unable to install big motors like the ones used in a Chimney hood. I double this slim hood can really perform 1490m3/h. Dont blindly trust figures in catalog as suction power alone does not represent performance.

Common Reason why slim hoods are no good
1) Low suction : but in this case this model can do 1490m3/h which is strong but dont know how accurate this figure is. How to tell? Turn on the hood and feel the air pressure blowing out from it and compare with a chimney hood that has similar suction power or lower. If the air blowing out from the slim hood is much weaker than you will know the figure is not accurate.

2) Mesh filter : Easy to get clogged and require regular cleaning like 2 days once to prevent oil clogging the filter and reducing performance

3) Circulated air blowing directly to the user as per photo. Chimney hoods blow straight up facing the ceiling or side ways not to the user
*
But can one company simply claim their suction power is such figure? Illegal?

Btw, are you at perfect livin Jan17?

Fotile EH10BQ - Good performance, low noise level and value for money

Fotile JQG9009s - Modern Design, better performance, noise level a bit higher

Fotile EMS 9016 - Modern Design, better performance, low noise level

been using Fotile EH10BQ for some times (hood was installed at recommended height), but found that the suction is so so (although can feel big air being sucked out or blew out when i stand outside of kitchen - the vent pipe cover there). probably i turn on fan and open window when cooking?

all hood wont perform well if windows/doors nearby are open.

Cannot turn on fan as well bcoz the wind from the fan will blow away the smoke. EH10BQ uses air curtain to trap smoke within the hood, if u turn on fan, the fan's wind will blow away the air curtain hence making it useless.

Most hoods wont work well if there is a fan nearby but JQG9009 will have the least performance drop with a ceiling fan nearby. Wall mounted fan or free standing fan directly blowing at the cooking area definitely wont work for all hood.

As tested previously

Yeah, I think you have advised before. Ppl who cook already so hot, they need to choose - without fan / good air ventilation, or want to have the hood does it works. An innovative products that could solve all this will be a great product biggrin.gif

**my budget is RM1500-RM2500, always cook
how about rinnai.....

which is better...more suction power, is better?? but more noisy??
more  motor power...is better?? but more noisy?? COPPER MOTOR or aluminium motor??
>> more suction power doesn't really will produce more noise..

how about speed adjustment....5 speed better than 3 speed but more expensive??
>> if speed1 is super low suction, why need up to 5 speed? as long as practically and properly suck will do.. doesn't really need so many speeds.. it is not like gearbox, ok? biggrin.gif

delay -off function need or not???
>>it maybe useful at some point.. up to u..

how about auto wash??
>> never heard of this biggrin.gif

auto steam cleaning, water cleaning, hot air cleaning (only livinox brand have this function)
>> it is just a marketing strategy when promoting product/brand.. ended you will manual clean as you will think it is the cleanest method biggrin.gif

price?? more expensive is better??
>> no

material: which one better:  stainless steel??, Black Titatium Alloy c/w tempered glass??
>> stainless steel will do la..

filter: ???Clean & Clear Filter / Flat washable alulminium filter?? Filter: Black Coated SS Baffle Filter
>> no idea

Charcoal Filter: what is this...not same with filter??? for what??
>> another marketing strategy.. it is optional..

Installation: Ventilatin or Recycle??
>> usually is vented method... what u mean by recycle?

with touch screen function control & remote control???
>> remote control?! wt* need remote control when cooking? adjust suction level from far? lol.. it is super not necessary.. so, touch screen and button.. i would prefer button one.. sometimes oily fingers (during cooking), the touch screen may not sensitive

Seamless canopy, easier cleaning??
>> as long as easy to take out the filter for manual clean is sufficient..

Oil Trap: biggest better??  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif
>> unless you are 'tai chow' like outside chinese restaurant.. as a small cup 10cmX10cm i think is sufficient..

b) some model is:

i) suction power : 1200
  motor power: 200

ii) suction power : 1000
  motor power: 238

any relate between suction power and motor power to whole efficiency
of cooker hood???

if yes...how to choose...which one more efficiency??

c) "Ducted & Recirculated Air Operation" ( for elba brand) and "Exhaust / Recirculation" (Rubine brand) is same feature??
Rinnai brand no mentioned.....so how?? some model only have Exhaust ?
is all cooker hood have Exhaust and Recirculation??? so no need to mentioned

i have problem with Fotile EEG75201, the ceramic hob.

Whenever i turn on both hob to cook, it seems like the hob stopped working and will only return back to normal after 2-3 days. So frustrating. Have to cook with my backup RM100 electric cooker instead.

Am thinking of calling the customer service, but since I did not return the warranty card (didnt notice i have to post 10 days after purchase since I bought during renovation and just saw the card), am afraid will be charge a tonne when the repair guys come.

What would be the problem so I can be prepared.
*
however, is the unit still under warranty period? do u have the shop's invoice? some and most manufacturer only refers to invoice.. i have a lot of Warranty Card but almost all of them not needed..
