2014 will be (to quote Emmet from The LEGO Movie) … AWESOME!

A quick scan of the Brickset database for 2014 sets returns 350 matches (and counting, as more will be announced as the year progresses).
http://www.brickset.com/search/?Page=1&query=2014

It’s only January but my 2014 LEGO shopping list is already out of control. Need to break open my LEGO piggy bank for 2015 to feed my 2014 carvings…
71006 The Simpsons House
10243 Parisian Restaurant
10241 Maersk Line Triple-E
71004 Collectable Minifigures - The LEGO Movie Series
71005 Collectable Minifigures - The Simpsons
70810 MetalBeard's Sea Cow
21019 The Eiffel Tower
21104 NASA Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover
60046 Police Station
60050 Train Station
60051 High-Speed Passenger Train
60052 Cargo Train
21107 Minecraft Micro World: The End

Not to mention multiple sets from following themes…
The LEGO Movie
Super Heroes (Batman, Spiderman, Capt America, Hulk, X-Men, etc.)
Star Wars
The Hobbit (3rd movie)
Friends
Disney Princess
Ninjago
Legends of Chima
City (including new Arctic subtheme)
Creator
Mixels
Architecture
Technic
Advent Calendar
Polybags

And then there’s possibly more exclusive sets that have not been revealed yet…
The next Star Wars UCS – Slave I?
The next train model after Horizon Express?
The next world landmark model – any ideas?
The next vehicle model after VW Camper Van – Mini Cooper?
The next Winter Village series set

PHEW! Luckily I’m not in Hero Factory, Duplo, Juniors, etc.

Now all we need is a LEGO Store & LEGO Shop at Home for Malaysia… smile.gif

Be patient, do some research and scouting.  There WILL be sets on your wanted list out there for Rm700 or less.  I got ALL my modular collection between Rm600-750.  Even the US$199 Town Hall is available @ RM740.  That's a Rm100-150 savings per modular/exclusive set.

Most importantly is NOT to hesitate if there is a great deal i.e.  Have $$ ready, standby.
*
haha. that's right. all my modulars bought for less than RM700 (except GE, not sure how much my wife paid for it). RM800 is just a rough estimation.

May I know who is the real CEO/president of the LEGO Cannot Tahan club here? A lot of your club members are always contacting me about bringing in 2014 sets, some that have not even been released. I believe that patience is a virtue and always try to wait for the best deals so that I can stretch my already WEAK RINGGIT as much as possible... whistling.gif

Of course it can be done, has been done and will continuously be done. Just remember to share with us. Ultimate goal is to achieve price to us @ US$ MSRP x 3.5 or less, including shipping and logistics.

You should try, but that's the target. Its not easier, but its worthwhile if you're really into big, retired and exclusive sets.

Agree. Kastams at LCCT is not for the faint hearted not to mention the distance. Best to let the professionals handle that part.

since you own the biz, you shd be able to get your stuff sent at cost price, which will then in turn be cheaper than resellers punye price, if you get your sources right that is. general rule of thumb, unless you are buying a lot, self importing does not necessary save you much more. thats why there is always a need to buy in bulk or bring in many multiple units to reduce cost per box, which prob also explains why most self-importers also end up selling them.
