I believe Sony Malaysia only accept those free warranty claim for SG set provided with the official invoice issued by the shop as listed in their website.

Good for you guys who are enjoying their console. Us who had their console broken when it arrives is pure annoyed by the service and treatment we got from SONY Malaysia.

Doesn't make much sense actually. If they do not honor the warranty from non-listed shops, where are these shops getting their stock from? If the serial numbers tie back to the Asia region, then these sellers must be getting it from some form of Sony party. Why would Sony release the stock to the unlisted sellers if they are not going to honor the warranty?

I think that either the local Sony warranty divisions are just taking the easy way out, maybe making up their own rules. Sony HQ should be informed about whats going on with regards to the non honor of regional warranty.

probably not only from authorized seller.
but at least maybe with receipt or purchase?
if im not mistaken not all sg set got receipt of purchase.

I think we should also start asking SONY Malaysia and PlayStation Asia what is going on, and pressure them, before it is too late. They are not taking us seriously.

sony might not honor regional warranty if not from their authorize reseller? Maybe they means is grey import set.

Why insist need another 2 years of warranty ?? Sony wont produce those product life is lesser than 3 yrs 1, i really surprise y so many purchase keep questioning about the warranty issue , do u all really think that PS 4 are easy to down ??

i had been using my PS 1 more than 8 yrs, PS 2 more than 6 yrs , PS 3 more than 4 yrs........ all no problem..... just got minor problem at DS only....

All brother's don't worry so much on PS 4, it wont defect/spoil so fast 1.

Requirement for receipt is fine, but there are reports that Sony will only accept receipts from those listed in the website. It shouldn't be that way, it should be that as long as the serial numbers are recognized as the SEA region, then warranty should be honoured no matter what.

My set is directly from Sony Sg Astria & got receipt. Let me check the box got the sticker when bk home and why need the sticker on the box, if i manage to send in warranty without box or if i throw away the box fr day 1.

People are worried about some of the issues that PS4 are having, ie BLOD, eject button problem.. they are worried what if they buy SG set then get BLOD.

If rm150 keep us peace for 3 yrs i think is worth for it and if 3yr+ the machine die, I think ppl wont so care much.
If 1 yr+ the machine failed, i think is quite hurt for the owner who spend such $$$. Like PS3 ylod.
