I've sent email to both Qisahn and Sony Malaysia, as well as PS Asia. I doubt SONY Malaysia is aware of the issue, and as per what the service centre told me, I'm the first they've encountered and it means they seriously had no idea on this. But what anger me is aren't they supposed to be updated on this issue that hit worldwide. I believe our game community or industry in Malaysia is not strong, which mean they do not take our word seriously.

This is what the person from US Region told me:
[attachmentid=3780449]

So yeah. Let's see how they will deal with it.

But I'm just curious, is there ANYONE ELSE encounter the same Blue Light Of Death Issue in Malaysia/Singapore? Or just me?  sad.gif  sad.gif

In this case, Sony US isn't the global headquarters. So I wouldn't take their word for law. How each region handles this warranty bit is going to be interesting though. Each region has always had their own way of doing things, and now there's this regional warranty bit that can be interpreted in a number of ways, thanks to the terms and conditions being pretty vague. Sony could turn away people for not buying their items from the proper stores even.

Anyway, we'll have to see what they say. Hopefully they get back to you soon.

This is precisely why I avoided buying Day 1 release. Early adopters are beta testers who suffer the inconvenience of faulty hardware. I really feel you bro, my PC has been away for 8 weeks JUST to claim warranty via Viewnet and it's not back yet.

What's recommended is to wait a few more days after the fanatical fanboish dies down and buy it on the spot to test units in the future.

Sony USA is replacing the faulty units around 3~6 weeks, according to posters.

Blaming anyone doesn't help the situation, since the best course of action desirable to you is to get it fixed ASAP without the burden of extra cost.

I doubt Sony Malaysia will heed your concerns since the PS4 will sell out anyway and they're still busy with supply and demand and all those promotions. One unhappy customer is not going to matter to them.

i had my old ps2, was the first batch during the japanese launch and its still working till now..
in fact many ppl said that the first batch of ps2 at that time was the most durable, with high quality lens and hardware, during the revision, sony opted for cheaper parts from other manufacturer to cut the cost down thus causing issues in other batches. My friend has 3 ps2 spoilt and finally he gave up.

its juz matter of luck thing. It doesn't mean that you buy it 1 year later, the situation going to get any better.
Warranty claim still take as long.

Theres always cases of like this, in every product launch.

This really sucks though, retailers/sellers need to be responsible and have to replace the units on a one to one exchange the first week or so. This is not rocket science and they wouldn't get away with this in the US. I'm tired of hearing about retailers/sellers that are not replacing the units and just saying they'll RMA as per usual. One to one replacement should be the way it goes. I say make a huge fuss about all this, write to the newspapers, and not let anyone get away with this madness. You don't buy something new and have to wait 2-4 months to get it back to use it just because it was DOA.

Depending on the responses you get from Sony (M), Qisahn, it might be time for some necessary feedback to be written for them.

Sony MY service really below par... just like my Tablet Z. Barely 2 months old and it is registering ghost touches due to bloated rear panel. Sent back and still same problem. Sent back for 2nd time with a warning. Either fix it or refund. Went back and spam their FB postings daily. After a month, they replaced with new unit without questions.

I might be long gone from the console industry, but I can still see that Malaysian gamer is not been taken care of like other region. Hence the waiting game and ineffective action. I've send letter to PS Asia too, if there's no news on Monday then that's it.

It's not that I'm being kia-su or what, but it's the professionalism from them to us as a customer. How can they are not aware of this when it is happening big at other region? It goes to CNN news and other game magazine news. mad.gif mad.gif

Did you use Pos Laju service? Coz mine is. And funny part was, I need to go all the way to their office to take it myself! Worst part is, you won't want to see how they handle your parcel. I didn't see mine, but I sure saw how they did on others.

Bro if i were you i would ask 1-1 replacement from qisahn instead of getting a repair . For that repair alone they would ripped apart your new machine and replace maybe refurbished parts. Just trigger the the lemon law sure they replace it for you in Sg I mean

No one can repair this because this is new console which mean parts are not available. I've spoke to the US region and they said ppl will most likely getting a replacement because they can't fix it now:

1. thank you for testing the machine for us.

2. for those who are not aware, ever since the ps2 days, even the ps1, there are DOA units. just bring it to the sony centres, they will take care of it. my first problematic console was ps3 with wifi issues, brought back to sony centre in Atria, Singapore, they exchanged it with a new one, with no questions asked. thats why it pays to get the official malaysian units. i remember when YLOD issue, sony offers a new unit with half of the price. so there are mechanisms for the repair or exchange.

3. sony techs DO NOT replace parts with refurbished units, they have internal standards and audit teams to answer to if they do that. its a standard thing in any electronic manufacturing company. and the competition in the industry is fierce.

lulz.

All Sony console warranty goes to SEA region now. So there's no such thing as Singapore or Malaysia or Thailand. As long as it's SEA, we all will benefited from the warranty, unless if I'm wrong.

When you bring it to the centre, are they aware of the issue at first? Or they are like chicken who found themselves lost in durian farm?

@TS seriously sorry to hear that , can feel u how disappointed after so excited and and this happen (potong stim kao kao )

i think u should ask qisahn to replace a new set for u. Most seller have 1 to 1 exchange within 7 days maybe losing some courier fees.

don t hope for sony malaysia , they seriously suck , most of them do not know much of their own product mad.gif

Cheers bro icon_rolleyes.gif

I guess they are aware on the problem and all prepared on how to deal with it. Don't need to have their customer to wait for the ***** time hmm.gif

Couldn't agree more on Sony Malaysia part you mentioned.

I just need to wait for both Sony and Qisahn's reply. I will see which one will provide a fastest solution. Sony says they need MINIMUM of 7 WORKING DAYS to diagnose (sounds like they can fix this new issue) before sending feedback, and suggested me to call them on late Tuesday to check, not them to call me.

Hi All,

Actually I have facing the same problems as the TS mentioned. The blue light keep flashing forever and will turn into white light.

No TV signal showing at all.

My situation is exactly same like TS ,I bought my SG set from Impulse Pbbseller.

Directly call the Impulse Mega Store to notify him regarding this issue.
He told me need to go through RMA process and he say he cannot do anything for now.

I asked him is possible to get replace one to one exchange. He said not applicable as this is just for those US sets not asia sets cry.gif

However,he ask me to pack all the console,HDMI cable,Power cord into the original box and send back to him to see if what he can do for me.

I actually already register my console serial number under Sony Playstation Asia (Malaysia) and my warranty period is valid until March 2015(15 Months) eventhough my set is SG sets. But it should be ok since Sony Warranty are SEA regional for PS4.

If that is the case, how do need to deal with this situation?

1.Send back to Pbbseller and waiting from his news.(I guess he will also help me through claim the Sony Warranty Process, still hope will replace a new set for me,but I guess won't)

2.Directly email and call Sony Directly and send to The Curve repair center ?(Quite inconvenience for me since I am from Penang and quite hard to follow up,some more not sure they will replace 1-1 exchange or just give you refurbish set)

Actually I have go through the Malaysia Consumer ACT 1999 and I found this paragraph
However,I not sure whether this appropriate for my case as I never facing issue in buying defect electronics consumer products,is it got any policy like refund or 1-1 exchange within 7 days or what?

I know this is applicable in Tesco but it is applicable for Sony or other shop retailer?
