SO,
After I've spoken with someone from SONY Service Centre:
1) Console is to reach on tomorrow from HK, and most likely to reach to the curve on Monday. They will call me back again after they have the ship schedule.
2) I was the first to sent to their service (that's what they said) which then makes me on the first of the list to receive.
3) Regarding on the on the spot exchange:
I've been told that as far as she knows, there isn't anyone got on the spot exchange, because stocks are very limited.
4) SONY Malaysia purchase vs. Retailers.
- SEA Regional warranty goes towards all as long as it is SEA warranty.
- It is a first come first serve process to repair / replace.
- However, back to the point 3, if there are people who bought the console from SONY Malaysia during launch, and found broken and send back to the SONY Malaysia (for example the curve), they
MIGHT have a chance to get 1to1 replacement on the spot
PROVIDED there are stocks left. If not, things will still go back to the normal process - First come first serve regardless on SEA or SONY Malaysia.
5) +2years extended warranty.
The practice was only for those who purchased from SONY Malaysia will be entitled.
HOWEVER, this was for their other gadgets, and since SEA warranty is new, they will check again and double confirm with me.
The Curve has received their 2nd batch of PS4 units already and one person (from the PS4 community thread) has said that he received an immediate replacement after he brought back a defective unit to Sony Curve and they tested it. I doubt that they'll operate without bringing in additional units for replacements. A really d*** move on their part. If they did, then they're absolutely dumb asses.
For point 5, the playstation line isn't aware of the extended 2 year warranty as it isn't applied over there or in SG. So I think it's a MY only thing.
