If many of you are aware, this Blue Light Of Death is no stranger to you, especially for those hardcore PS fans.

So I've just got my PS4 Camera Bundle today which I've preordered from Qisahn (Singapore), with 3 games on hand - Battlefield 4, Call Of Duty, and Injustice Gods. Like any of you, we all got excited when it arrives at your home, with that feeling of "Damn my christmas came early and I'm gonna stick my butt at home for weeks before getting laid by girls". So I unwrapped my parcel and gosh, amazing console, fantastic look, and hell somehow all the price hike from the government has seem unimportant (for a short period).

Beautiful isn't it?

But happiness never last. Things that I've feared the most before my arrival of PS4 happened - Blue Light Of Death.
http://kotaku.com/ps4-blue-light-of-death-...-yet-1465979487

I've connected everything accordingly as instructed and my TV shows - No Signal.

I've checked again on all the cabling, and I even change the HDMI cable as I read somewhere that Sony's HDMI was a cheap one. But still - No Signal.

I'm starting to get panic, a dejavu. And so, i went to the net and search for every method that is possible.

I checked my HDMI output and there might be an issue as stated from link below:
http://www.ign.com/wikis/playstation-4/How...eshoot_PS4_HDMI

and

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/691087-play...33316/764917405

I checked and nothing went wrong with the output, and still no sign of detecting my PS4. Then I found this site:
http://gamingbolt.com/ps4-list-of-errors-f...k-screen-issues

Went through everything in the list -
1) HDMI Output check - Output looks well but no signal
2) Safe Mode - Well how am I suppose to see a safe mode when there is No signal from the console. (And I've tried it for 1 hour).
3) Updating the software - Ok I've downloaded the update into my USB, plugged it into my console but same thing happened, no signal. Worst part is, my console can't detect both my USB and dual shock. Bare in mind that my dual shock is working when I plugged it into my laptop to charge its power.
4) Remove the hard drive and replace it back again - Tried and still no signal. It's like giving the console a CPR but no sign of life.
5) Power Supply - Tried it few times but it's the same, no signal.

Losing my faith, I called Sony Service Centre The Curve @ 1300881233. But funny thing is, the operator told me to call at PS service centre @1800814963 (Apparently this is the PlayStation service centre). Now things just got interesting - As usual, I've addressed the issue and the guy confirmed with me that - "Your hardware got problem, send it to service centre." I was like wow, that was fast, and this shows that they are aware of this.

With no choice, I have to send it to the service centre at The Curve.

Packing up the console with a mixed emotion of anger, frustration, disappointment, and sad. I drove all the way to The Curve and look for the centre.

I told the counter about the issue and all she can say is that "You have to leave it here for a minimum of 7 working days for our technician to diagnose and check. Then only we can give you a feedback where is the problem and then only decide whether we are to exchange it or not."

I was like WTF are you guys not aware of this issue?! One more thing is, they said they can't do anything if it's purchased from Singapore because it is not a Malaysia regional. Correct me if I were wrong, but isn't Malaysia and Singapore and the rest of South East Asia sharing the same warranty regional?
http://ap.ign.com/en/news/10388/sony-intro...south-east-asia

I was like, did you guys even aware of the news? I should have take a photo of the people there who said this to me. I might be wrong with the news, but if it were true, then this people shows no professionalism and they are basically not getting the latest updates with their newly launch products! Shame on you Sony Malaysia!

I told them to double check on the warranty and I guess they somehow realize that they are wrong, or maybe they don't feel like wasting time on me. Now I have to wait for their feedback on whether or not I'm getting an exchange, or pay for service, or this console will just say good bye to me with no refund or whatsoever.

Such a disappointment on Sony Malaysia. Frustration on the service. Who should be blamed?

Qisahn (Singapore) - Which I've made my order?
Sony PS4 or the supplier - The broken hardware?
Pos Laju - For maybe broken up the staff when they are doing their job?

P/S: US Region have a strong community where gamers feedback and words will not be taken lightly. What about us in Malaysia or SEA? Is there any strong community?

Damn this is shit!

This is precisely why I avoided buying Day 1 release. Early adopters are beta testers who suffer the inconvenience of faulty hardware. I really feel you bro, my PC has been away for 8 weeks JUST to claim warranty via Viewnet and it's not back yet.

What's recommended is to wait a few more days after the fanatical fanboish dies down and buy it on the spot to test units in the future.

Sony USA is replacing the faulty units around 3~6 weeks, according to posters.

Blaming anyone doesn't help the situation, since the best course of action desirable to you is to get it fixed ASAP without the burden of extra cost.

I doubt Sony Malaysia will heed your concerns since the PS4 will sell out anyway and they're still busy with supply and demand and all those promotions. One unhappy customer is not going to matter to them.

Sorry to hear that bro.

This happens unfortunately. Best person to blame is Sony Malaysia. 1 to 1 exchange is in order. Fastest way to get it sorted is to go to small claims, file a complaint then slap it on Sony Malaysia. And tell them if they don't change then you proceed with small claims. Rm20 for filing fee. Do it on Monday would be best.

Wow, bad luck.

So, so glad my unit is fine.

I heard for US/Europe, they will exchange it for you, no questions asked? Courier arrives with a new unit and switches with your broken one.

Somehow I had a feeling this is how it will go for us, it's Malaysia after all. They're probably delaying you because PS4 is in short supply, Sony should know very well about DOA PS4s by now.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, tough luck.

You bought it from Singapore, any one to one has to happen over there. Why isn't Qisahn replacing the console for you? Sony Malaysia is obligated to fix the issue for you,but not immediately. Nothing like that in the regional warranty. So 7 days isn't insane.

One unhappy customer is not going to matter to them, is depending whether they are being professional as per their brand or not, and I don't think there should be any excuse they should give like what you've mentioned, so unprofessional from a big brand. It's really disappointing when the counter is not even aware of the issue and playing a job when a normal recorded phone operator can do.

I've already sent an email to Sony Malaysia. But I doubt that they will take any immediate action or being aware of this issue like other region. Anywhere that I can share it so they can take it seriously? Since people inside might be the 'same' person.

Yes they are replacing it. However the counter is only saying the 7 working days procedure, and they are not aware of this issue. By knowing typical Malaysian working style, I doubt I can get any replacement within the given date.

inyourheart, it is covered under the regional warranty which is why Sony MY even entertained you in the first place. Since it is not a Malaysian set, I believe what they are trying to tell you is that they won't offer any exchange on-the-spot and they will go through the routine RMA process.

I've contacted to the US region and they told me that I will most likely get a new replacement since the console is new hence there won't be any technician that is able to fix it. So if the US can't fix it with parts, then Malaysia won't fix it. However the SOP working days still applies.

I've sent email to them with has already forward to their manager. Will get reply on tomorrow. But anyhow it will be a replacement, and it's just the matter of time.

So much fun of Pre-order products, and I'm the lucky one out of the 0.4% claimed from SONY.

From what I read, they'll replace with a refurbished set with the exact same materials, etc.

But I'd actually follow up with the place you bought it and ask them to send a replacement, the item is new and you pre-ordered it. Sony would only be a 2nd choice since they would most probably only go through the RMA process with your issue. Keep us updated with the progress! Interested to see how Sony (M) and Qisahn handles it.

I've sent email to both Qisahn and Sony Malaysia, as well as PS Asia. I doubt SONY Malaysia is aware of the issue, and as per what the service centre told me, I'm the first they've encountered and it means they seriously had no idea on this. But what anger me is aren't they supposed to be updated on this issue that hit worldwide. I believe our game community or industry in Malaysia is not strong, which mean they do not take our word seriously.

This is what the person from US Region told me:
Attached Image

So yeah. Let's see how they will deal with it.

But I'm just curious, is there ANYONE ELSE encounter the same Blue Light Of Death Issue in Malaysia/Singapore? Or just me? sad.gif sad.gif
