Well, never watch the game. However with all the comments, I think we are doing quite well. Can't blame much in such of match, but we should be positive cause we did not give face and with intention to win over them. It started to shows believe that we are the best, we have confident to beat them. Well is good as we are trying to built a wining mentality. Lets not forget we had been long long time w/o such feeling and mentality.
We started from our low finish last season, and with no new supper signing players. With current performance, is had been very good.

though we lost and we may deserved a point at least
but it really exposed our lack of depth
the RB / LB need a world class player
we need a mobile and hard tackling DM too

Another thing BR need to get right is the defending during set pieces. My heart raced whenever we have to defend a corner or free kicks. Chelsea is very good at set pieces and we must do something about it before the game.

on a positive note, half way through the season and all away games against the top teams are out of the way except a visit to the old toilet.

I wonder why some of you guys said that K.Toure is not good enough. For me , he is a decent defender.
As for Alberto, he still need more game time to prove himself.
Moses=Babel, simply barge forward without creativity.

Even Lucas didn't look the same as before. What's wrong with him and Johnson now?
Instead, Fernandinho did a good job for city this morning.

Gutted we didn't managed to steal at least a point yesterday, although every player put in their shift yesterday, but the depth of squad is very much obvious to the eyes.

Prior to the match, the momentum was with Liverpool, with Suarez and Henderson hitting top form, even sacrificing their xmas celebrations to train for this match. No complains on the commitment and conviction by the players. Liverpool simply gave it all to win this match. On the other hand, sad to say it was just another regular day for Man Citeh players.

2-1 scoreline seems to be respectable scoreline in Etihad, many would have been proud with the result despite the loss, but I'm personally disappointed not to get a point here, these are the games that will make or break Liverpool's ambition to break into top 4 this season.

Again, we failed to wrestle at least a point from our top rivals, another failed attempt to beat a top side, Citeh just opened a 6 point gap on us, 3 pts won and we dropped 3 pts. Now we MUST win in Stamford Bridge to keep our hopes alive.

Sterling's botched attempt in front of the open goal mouth def ranks up there with Allen's miss.

I went ballistic when Sterling was ruled offside. Not even close. I am not a fan of Sterling but his runs, attacking sense is getting better and better I'm impressed. I felt like a lot of the decisions were against us we deserved a draw at least.

It is a match that reflected 2 top teams in England, in a hugely entertaining and open game of attacking football. Never mind that the value of this Shitty team is almost twice of ours and that the Etihad was turn into a cauldron since Mancini's time there...our boys just go there and play their game. The attacking trio of Sterling, Suarez and Cout was excellent as they are telepathic, complemented by a technically good and willing midfield trio.

In the end, we came undone by a linesman who decide he wanted the attention for the wrong reason...Can certainly see where BR is coming from when he lashes out at Lee Mason who also gone with the linesman decision to flagged off side when Sterling make his run with at least 2 yards of space...The blunder by our keeper doesn't help either as Negredo's shot was devoid of power and placement.

In the end, its really bittersweet this match..bitter we didn't get more out of the match, sweet knowing the boys tried

So far, Liv is the only team manage to lead in Etihad and also loss at Etihad with single goal.
Prior before match, little has high hope on the match, due to Liv's poor away record + lack of clean sheet + scary Mancity home record.
So nearly snatch a point is considered not a bad result, but still a bit disappointed with 0 point, despite good effort put out by the players.

Still, my view, Mancity is the title contender team, Liv is still short of it.
Stay within top 4 is the target.

As said before, if want to beat top team, clean sheet is always one of important pre-requisite.

i hope BR and whoever that deal with the signing will do their business early and fast in few days time just like last January, we are in christmas and only involved in league yet we are crying about squad depth already.

Some player linked - all rumours;

1. Lallana (Southamption)
2. Ashley Cole (Chelsea)
3. Salah (FC Basle)
4. Rakitic (Seville)
5. Jorginho (Verona)

This is a given. Keep a clean sheet against any side and you will at least come away with a point.

We were up against it though. City have already blasted Man Utd and Arsenal off the park and has scored way more goals than anyone else. Gutted we didn't pick up a point but im Proud of the fighting display put in by Brendan and the boys. It's a statement that we fear no one and that is important for confidence and team morale.

Vincent Kompany exclaimed that this was their toughest home match of the season and that is some compliment.

Next up, the bridge.

On the issue of squad depth it is still only in midfield that we are a little light. The bench would look a whole lot different had Flanagan, Sturridge, Gerrard and Enrique returned from injury. Also, many were chuffed when we signed Moses and had this been the start of the season, there would be less comments on squad depth. In highlight of course, some of the new acquisitions haven't been delivering.

It doesn't matter if we lost by a small margin or a big margin. A 5-0 defeat will always look great if you compare it with a 6-0 defeat. At the end of the day it is the points that counts.

For some fans, a 2-1 defeat at Etihad indicates that Liverpool squad is playing on the same level as Man City, some small comfort factor to indulge in, but from my perspective, Liverpool I believe at this point is still inferior to Man City. To get 3 points would have been a huge injection of morale and statement of intent, but nevertheless we still have one chance to show that we are capable of wrestling points from our huge rivals at the Bridge.

These games; against our rivals the top 4 challengers, these games are our real Champions League yardstick.
