quite scary with our defence during set piece. Chelsea has Ivanovic and Terry who are excellent with header. Skrtel or Sakho need to improve. and also Hendo needs to improve his defensive during set piece.

I don't think the ref was particularly biased towards City but perhaps he was more biased towards certain type of play - i think he's a typical English ref that rewards physical play which is not our strongest suit. We are mostly a technical but small sized team that relies on speed and guile rather than physical presence.

liverpool defenders better be prepared for some ball hoofing from chelsea's midfield. expect a lot of long range effort from chelsea and try to keep football simple (no tiki tala) because there will be 9 men in chelsea's penalty box shielding the goal . oh, also watch out for a underhanded tactics by mourinho. laugh.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Skrtel has in my opinion, never been really strong in the air. He doesn't win that manner headers in the opposition box and when he's defending, most of the headers he wins is when the opposition players has his back to him. In my opinion Kolo Toure is the strongest defender we have in the air. He was a giant against Stoke, winning headers against much bigger players like Crouch, Huth and Shawcross.

that's Chelsea tactic. its nothing wrong with it if suit them. Liverpool need to find way to break their defence and protect from their attacking especially set-piece.

Putting in Moses was kinda self destruct... That guy has zero creativity and only good at passing back. Cant beat player, cant score, cant do anything. Could have been better putting in Agger tongue.gif

I guess, blocks, interceptions are not counted as tackles. AHH complications!

That's why never solely rely on stat to judge a player.

A midfielder can pass around the ball with defender, which in the end of the day, stat show high success passing rate. But none of the passes contribute to the team attacking wise or trying to get a goal.

While a creative midfielder always try difficult through-pass ball, defence splitting ball, which result in low success rate in the match stat.
But those passing if success, can lead to goal.

Chelsea also is another team that never lose at home.
Win 8, draw 1.

Matches really come thick and fast.

Just 1 day rest for some teams.

Despite what some are suggesting, I do not see the Chelsea game as a make or break. What's important is that we stay within touching distance and ensure we win the bulk of our home games since we'll be playing the big sides bar Man Utd (who we have already beaten at Anfield) at home during the 2nd half of the season. Having said that, coming away from Stamford Bridge with a result will of course and a welcomed bonus.

Truly immense last night and my motm. Frightening quick in every sense of the word. I love how he and Suarez took turns leading the line and the link up play between them was tremendous. But last night he showed a lot more than pace. He's slowly adding some guile and playmaking ability into his game, which will make him a lot more dangerous than a traditional winger. He can cut inside, stay out wide or play between the defender like a poacher. A monster of a player in the making.

am glad that he don't turn out to be another Lennon or Walcott (in his early days but now has turn good / matured as well)

I am guessing there is some sort of coaching going on to Sterling by Suarez.

actually currently the weakest top 4 in the EPL should be Chelsea if you did watch some of the Chelsea game, they played quite offensively, no creativity, just score 1-2 goals and enough to hold the game till the end, but one thing for sure Chelsea have a very strong backbone, their defender is much better than us, and their midfield also a little better than us, but our squad is having more pace, more creative and more unite.
