Hello,

anybody trying running parallel computation on MBP Retina? I was wondering how many processor that actually we have on this machine. I checked from system info, it was only 2 processor.

Tried running my program with
>mpirun -np 4
worked quite well

>mpirun -np 8
error smile.gif I know maybe something wrong with my program.

anyone has similar problem to this thread? https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5547471
where OSX UI is kinda laggy.

for me my Mac generally performs ok, until i open a Parallels Windows VM, then it starts getting really laggy, the moment i use Display Menu to switch to non-retina resolution, eg 1680×1050, then it's ok.
seems like rMBP's hardware can't really power the retina display, ironically...

btw using 13-inch, 2.6GHz i5, 8GB RAM and 512GB here.

open system preferences > energy saver and deselect automatic graphics switching.. system info will show your dedicated graphic card at the expense of using more juice from batt.. btw I'm also new mac user.. MBP retina 15" w/ 16gb ram and 512mb ssd.. late 2013 model.. somehow my i7 I'm getting is the 2.3GHz.. hmm.gif

Hi Guys,

Just got my Macbook Pro Retina 15" 2.2Ghz model from Epicenter. Had to buy from the shop instead of using the education store as wanted to use the 0% interest instalment from Maybank.

Should i buy those hard case shells made Speck or Moshi to protect it from scratches? Let me know your thoughts. thx
