my mid 2012 rMBP's screen failed again.
second time this machine is getting a screen replacement, uneven backlit this time.
anyone here replaced their mid 2012 rMBP screen twice?

yes first gen 15" rMBP
i'm glad i have ACPP, replaced 2 screens and 1 fan within 2.5 years.
those replacement cost nearly or more than the price i originally paid for the Mac

has anyone experienced a total freeze after leaving the rMBP to sleep overnight?
i've been experiencing it quite often on my 2012 15" rMBP lately, it wakes up from sleep and after awhile the whole system would freeze and i would have to force shutdown

by freezing, i mean that the Mac isn't responding to any inputs at all

maybe i should ask for a Logicboard replacement then request for a CRU

its USB3.0, all rMBP has been shipped with USB3.0.
i'm surprised that you're not aware of it
i have spoken to Apple Care Support regarding it, they did mentioned about the option of replacing the Logicboard for free as i'm still covered by ACPP

i believe all Macs released on and after 2012 has already been shipped with USB3.0
logic board should cost more than RM800, the screen replacement for a 15" rMBP is $1000 inclusive of labour charges

have you tried cleaning the connectors?

thats what i thought so too, RM800 is really cheap.
but i won't know the price for a 15" rMBP Logicboard until i send it in to an AASP and receive the billing

you can get Sims for OS X, don't have to install bootcamp

i just sent in my Mid 2012 15" rMBP for a full diagnose.
result was quite shocking; trackpad, speakers, flash storage and screen needs replacement.
its almost replacing everything except for the logic board since the speaker replacement would mean replacing the whole top case which includes the battery and trackpad
now i'm currently waiting for Apple's decision whether to fix this unit or get a CRU

i won't categorize it as hardcore usage as i only use it for browsing.
i believe this is more of a manufacturer defect.
prior to this, there was already a screen and fan replacement
