Hi there. I'll be getting myself a rMBP 13" base model which is the i5 haswell, 4gb ram and 128gb SSD. Will it be okay and long lasting? I will be using it for assignment, YouTube and surfing web only. If I order from Apple Store Malaysia, will they deliver the product exactly according to my address. Since I'm a student, I am eligible to get education pricing  and another extra discount since apple is having Red Sale (Jan 10)? TQ.

Been using it to watch videos and do photo editing. Looks awesome with the display and battery life (6.5 hours)

just got myself MBP 15" late 2013..i tried not heavy games like PES2014 and FIFA14..during gameplay fan so noisy..is it normal? mine with GT750m..

i7 2.7ghz, 16gb ram, Flash 512, 15" retina. Dual graphic. Rm8699.00

But I wonder why Mbp 2014 top spec only i7 2.3ghz. .. And a bit cheaper..

It's just about 200 point different.

What about MacBook Air 1.4ghz i7? Will it be very much better than early version? I saw YouTube video, early version is very much better, faster for everything... Plan to sold my Mbp switch to MBA. Need to read watch video than hi end processing.

Should i buy those hard case shells made Speck or Moshi to protect it from scratches? Let me know your thoughts. thx

New mac user checking in. I recently purchased a RMBP2.6/8/256, and being a PC user for almost 30years (currently 42yo) I must admit I am liking the mac a lot. On overall, its very intuitive and very easy to use. Am an engineer by trade, I have stopped relying on my PC desktop and been using the RMBP since I layed my hand on this 2 weeks ago. I am surprised that the bundled software in the RMBP such as pages/numbers etc is much much easier to use than their equivalent word/excel etc
A few questions ....

1. Is there a way to mount a safety lock such as Kensington lock on this machine?

2. What would be the recommended optical drive for this RMBP? I was thinking of getting the Apple superdrive but have seen mixed reviews on its reliability issues.

3. I deal with a lot of AutoCad drawings in dwg format. Is there a dwg reader available that is free to install and use?

4. Which external drive that is the best value and reliable? There is too many models out there and I am getting confused. The external hard drive I intend to keep data and also serve as my backup.

5. What would be the best habit that can care for the batteries? In other words at what % battery power level is best to start charging? And does it matter is the charger is left hooked up for long periods ?

basically looking for a recommendation between the 2015 13" rMBPr vs 2014 15" rMBpr

the 13" would be the maxed out model : 3.1GHz dc 17 and 16gb 1866 ram

whereas the 15" would be the base model : 2.2GHz qc 17 and 16gb 1600 ram

definitely getting it before april due to gst
