i see...but these days, almost all macbook >RM5000.  sweat.gif

that's why in the end, it is your judgement call already. it depends how much risk you are willing to bear vs the amount of savings you get for not getting applecare.

Personally, for what its worth, although demand high $$$ it an insurance that is well worth it. I rarely see complaints from apple customers when it comes to their warranty claims and the added applecare i.e. extended period, its good investment just in case something do happen to your rig.
*
yes, apple customer service is always top in the world.

i bought my macbook pro 15-inch 2014 version (discrete card version, nvidia graphic card) in april 2015. I got a new macbook pro 15-inch 2015 version replacement due to some reason (with the faster ssd, force touch, amd graphic card) replaced on 1 july 2015 and my warranty restarts at 1 july 2015 also. thumbup.gif

Not too sure, if you bring out very often, then just add up AppleCare will do, if just put at home.. Should be quite useless or if have extra money then what for.

my rMBP 15" is my main machine for both work and home use. tongue.gif so usage wise is not a problem.

just planned to get one more 12" rMB next year as secondary device for daily use to and fro office.

depends on need i guess. iPad Pro to me is too big. I prefer portable form factor, i am using iPad Mini 2 too now as it is way more portable than iPad Air 2.

Same goes to 12" rMB, it is very portable and it has full features as it runs Mac OS X. biggrin.gif most important it looks totally sexy and totally slim and sleek.

Nothing beats a full featured mac os x. I too was on iPad 1 then upgraded to iPad 2. When I got the rmbp, i knew this was it. So my son took ownership of the ipads. The 12" really looks the part and I am saving up for it. Like you I would want to wait for the second gen.

Honestly, jumping from PC to mac was an excellent move. For the limited time I have with apple, I can maximise the usage. When I was with PC, there will always be some issue or another. Mind you, I am not saying PCs no good, what i am saying is that with apple especially the rmbp, I do not have any headaches and the best part of it all is that I can sync all my products rclxm9.gif
