Need some help in my listening position.. now i managed to draft out my room layout.

room size 11' x 13'6"
table to cupboard 10' x 2.5'
wall to bed 5'3"x 6'7"
wardrobe 4'2"x 2'11"
listening position 6'6"x5'10"
Front LR from wall 1'5"

the back wall and the left wall if facing tv got windows. the drawing is not to scale, rougly est.

If i stand near to the back wall, the sound is better, in terms of bass is nicer and the corner.. but just the listening position not so good.. i can try push my bed to the back wall and move ard with the smaller furniture that might can move my listnening position 2-3ft further back.

Cant really move to other room, or extend room or do anything as i am staying with my parents.. only can do watever i can with this small personal space of mine sad.gif

my current setup is:

front L/R WAF-1 from curveacoustics
Center X-CS from curveacouctics
Sub PSB but kong oledi, so no sub, most probably gonna get goldenears 3
AVR rx-v475
TV sony 42w674a

Mainly setup for gaming and movies. Sometimes i will let it play music while i am using my PC on the table on my left bottom corner of my room. There i can hear the music is better compare the listening position.. more bass probably becos of corner.

distant between front spkr & distance to listening point. keep them similar is most basic

i would prefer using 13.6' wall to setup increase separation between front lr to center

noob question here. can we set HT in this way where -BD player (HDMI to TV) audio line out to integrated amp (PM5004) to bookshelf spk/ woofer (2.1 system)? is this workable?

My AVR is acting up, may need to get a replacement. Present setup is 7.1, thinking of moving up to Atmos.
What are the more affordable Atmos AVR now available?

I am not well versed wif Atmos.. but there has been talk tat Denon n Onkyo is better - but if not mistaken some channels [for ATMOS] are not powered - which means you need to add power amps..
Personally, I'd wait for de DTS equivalent to come mainstream before I upgrade..

Thanks and point taken.
I already have a 4-channel power amp that I can use to power the ceiling speakers if the AVR only provides line-out for these channels.
I suppose all new AVRs support firmware update to cater for any changes and improvement that comes along.

Have power amp is just one thing, the AVR must be able to support the required channel as well. So far I only know Yamaha and Marantz that support 7.1.4
For 5.1.4 Yamaha, Marantz, Denon has it. Just be aware that some AVR that support atmos does not support DTS X

Exactly.
ON another thread on Atmos, there's talk about using Onkyo TX-NR747 for Atmos and DTS-X. Onkyo website also states that this model supports both, but I cannot find any output for ceiling speakers besides the 7.2. Am I missing something?

Onkyo 747 is 5.1.2 Atmos. There is a label for back height. Or you can use 7.1

Thanks.
The Spec for A3050 says it supports Atmos 5.1.4, 7.1.2 and 7.1.4 with external amp, but the picture of its backcover indicates 11 channels for speaker output and 2 subwoofer pre-out. Shouldn't it be good for 7.2.4 without any external amp?
How's your current setup?

You don't require the power amp for the extra 2 channels for ceiling. Certain model of amp has the connection but power section that is why need external power amp. I had only 1 sub. So is not .2
