with a budget of around 4k, which should I choose, dolby atmos soundbar (Samsung Q950A) VS dedicated 5.1 surround speaker?

If 5.1 surround, how to choose the speaker, sub, receiver?

The system will be installed in the living room, mainly for music and movie

Which internet radio? VTuner? If VTuner can check the radio station list on their website.
A lot of states specific station, but for me quite limited choices for my favorite and majority quality not so good, 64k AAC or MP3.

all brands use vtuner? i'm planning for yamaha.
vtuner $4 per year. also AiFM not in the list  it's a big NO.

no. it's for my parents who listen to local radio stations. we have other means for oversea info.

I don't recall I seen Mission Volare series in Malaysia, you bought from Singapore? Would like to get one if I can find used... M53 England made also good.

Question 2- Have always wanted to buy a sound bar. The reason is whenever we watch something, the dialogue is always very soft. So we turn up the volume. But then all the other action sounds are too loud. So now I have recently learned that there can be "soundbar for dialogues".

Any experience Sifu share their experience and thoughts please?

am using unblock ProS TVbox gen7. i think maybe because of the tvbox. but just curious to know if anyone setup differently or additional gadget i missed out.

does your pioneer allows you to check input and output audio channel? by right your input should be 2 front channel but if you are using upmixing like Dolby Prologic it will up mix it to 5.1..
i know denon does give u that info when u press info button but i m not sure about pioneer.
also you can try to set your front speaker to small(not full range) like what shifu had advice. Does your subwoofer really no playing OR its playing too soft? maybe u can crank it louder to check if the sub is playing or not..

change all your speaker to small.  Menu> speaker > Crossover

Thanks for replying. I've been Googling on this but the results are overwhelming.

I just added the center speaker and ran YPAO again. I added it because I wasn't happy with dialogue clarity with just the fronts.

1) will try this later. Hopefully it's not the speakers.

2) I placed it beneath my tv and tilted up towards my head as suggested on every online guide and forum haha.

3) Not sure of the setting. Just used the automatic YPAO configuration with the mic that comes with the AVR. will check out the Adaptive Dynamic Range later tonight.

4) Do I do this by increasing the level? Do I need to restore the settings to default (before YPAO) or just add the center level?
