I don't really understand this part, while I get that due to the room affecting the sound what we hear at a shop floor will not be the same as in our home. But how to decide and buy something without listening to it at all? How do you actually choose the speakers then, based on the recommendation of others? Reviews?

This whole home theater setup I honestly don't understand. Can someone please guide me? I really don't understand the purpose of woofer , sub woofer and 5.1 speakers etc etc ..Planning to buy 65" tv. I would like to have a nice sound system setup to go along with it. My budget is around 2-3k. What best can I do with this?
