Thanks for your reply, never occurred to me that I could install reverse camera without changing the HU (by just changing rearview mirror) rclxms.gif
*
haha not exactly the right place to discuss this, but yeah you can do this (admittedly its not the solution of the highest quality, but it will work).... u just need to figure out how to hide the wiring only.
if you want to diy, basically, just need to hook up 3(or4) cables to the car, 1) power for the camera (hookup to the switch by the gearbox OR easier, the reverse light)(**this can also power the screen if the camera has a power cable going front) 2)earthing for the camera 3)earthing for the screen so its actually a very easy job

My cars are simple basic cars, so i can just pull the panels off easily, not sure about a city (since it aint got pillar air bags, should be ok)

How if I do an engine transplant on the kancil? Where can I do that? Thanks

frankly speaking... ur a student and times are hard, dont modify the car till after you work abit... (heck at that point you might even go for a better platform)

yeah ill give up the thoughts of modifying the car, but what cars can i buy with rm15k used? is kelisa good?
*
hmmm depends on what you consider good..... a kelisa would basically be a cheap to run, cheap to maintain, easy to drive reliable small car.

personally, if i had 15k, i would save alittle more for a viva, also the same recipe but newer. For this kind of money, don't expect performance and low maintenance/running cost to go hand in hand, one or the other will have to go

bear in mind that you need to pay another RM3k+ processing fee on top the price of the vehicle... it is always good if you can get a trusted foreman with you when you are checking out the car...
*
i have quite a long list of things for you to check in one of the neo threads some time back.... go look at that.... *each car is dif, get to know the model you want to view first*

which proton current car can satisfy my wants?
*
frankly speakig... if the suprima is considered noisy, the inspira is pretty about the same or worse...
the engine is pretty noisy and road noise isnt the greatest..
if you are willing to spend a little on sound insulation, none of this will be much of an issue

i saw ur post about the proton haters bit, frankly speaking, i dont hate proton (heck, i dont care bout branding at all)

I am currently driving a myvi and would want to upgrade to a c segment hatchback and these are my considerations

1.  Brand : Ford Focus HB , Mazda 3 HB , might consider HRV or XV
2. Budget : Rm80 +-
3. New/Used/Unreg : Used
4. Specs : Possible with price range
5. Transmission : Auto
6. NA or FI: ANY
7. Type : any
8. Remarks : Prefer Hatcback / SUV shape

Have been very interested with Ford Focus but very worried of the gearbox and such after many researchs , can get a year 2012 focus for abt 70k+ , how is the mazda 3 when compared to the focus in terms of reliability ? thnx
*
Personally would not touch the ford... Its just me though but from what I hear when the non-dry clutch models have their issues(hough some don't suffer them at all)

Hi. looking to get a second hand car.

1. Brand : Not specific
2. Budget. 10 to 15k
3. Used
4. Specs. Nothing specific
5. Transmission. : automatic
6. NA or FI ? Nothing specific
7. Type. Hatchback or sedan
8. Remarks. Low maintenance cost, easy to get spare parts.

Basically I am a student who will use the car to commute daily from shah alam to Kuala Lumpur.

I have been pointed towards wira, iswara, or satria as parts are easy to get. But I personally don't like the iswara.

I hope to hear some feedback for all.

Thanks in advance

viva
+ cheap to run (fun fc in town)
+ relatively simple and easy to fix
+ no mechanical issues.
+ newer
- only issue would be its tiny/not so fun on long distance journeys
satria
+ parts are cheap
+ car looks pretty good
- old, many have been abused, run to the ground (not a problem if u know the car well)
- coupe, pro or con, you decide
- autos are kinda horrible (applies to all older gen potong autos)
saga(lmss/lmst)
+ cheap to run
+ cheap to repair (including body parts)
+ noone cares if its ugly cause its cheap
+ up to yr 2008 so not ancient
-milo kosong
-no auto
-simple
-many have been used as workhorses so, lots are run down
saga (blm)/gen2
+ relatively cheap to run/maintain
+ newer
*think it as a modernized saga, better in most ways, but more exp to maintain than the lmst
seg/sentra
+ old proven tech
+ larger car
- old old old car
-maintanance will be higher, and you will probably need to change some parts some time after getting it

all cheap to maintain and relatively cheap to run (assuming its not modified)

ARE EXORA CPS AND CFE, IRIZ MT AND SATRIA NEO CPS BAD CARS?
*
bad in general? i dont know, it really depends on your demands.....

if you are a sucker for quality and power but ignore safety then they are horribly bad cars

if you are a sucker for bang for buck safety features and couldn't give a crap about the built quality, fc and stuff like that, perfect.

The Cefiro has 2000cc, 2500cc and 3000cc v6 back then.....the one in the plane advertisment is the 3000cc v6.
However, the Accord and Camry are using straight 4's for their 2000cc so i would gather a lot easier/cheaper to maintain.

1st best proton current car are preve cfe, suprima cfe and exora cfe since inspira is not longer in production.
obviously inspira and satria gti the best car in proton 2nd are preve cfe, suprima cfe and exora cfe 3rd are proton waja cps and 4g18 and satria neo cps 4th is  wira and 5th is saga 1985,iswara and lmst. i think that cfe is the  best engine that proton has produce even though it has some minor problems
*
urgh... i guess if you want to arrange it in that way.....not sre why the waja ad cps neo are together and not sure where the perdana is....

if u ask me stock standard...
neo lotus ed>neo other performance editions>inspira>neor3=satria r3/gti=putra=c99>cfe loaded buggers>neo cps>insert the array of recent campro buggers>perdana>wira=satria=saga=iswara
to modify
neo = inspira > gti,c99,putra >rest need not be mentioned

Hehe satria neo lotus ed I was talking about is the souped up 100+k limited edition model hehe, the car us quite a lot quicker than that standard versions

IMO iris is a sillyish car (100% my opinion, maybe cause it doesn't appeal to me whatsoever)
-it looks funky.... (Front is OK I guess, butt is ugly)
-it ain't got the power
-its fc is apparently not as great as claimed
-rear space abit cramp
-it ain't as fun to drive as a neo (to be fair, dif class so that's alright...)
-safety, fine there's that going for it

I like this quote
"To say Suprima/Preve/Exora is the best now is true and false at the same time.
They are the best Proton has in it's stable now.
But that's like saying eventhough you scored a C in an exam but you're no.1 because you're the only one in that classroom."
