8. Remarks: I'm 28yrs old and this will be my first car, drive to work(shift) everyday, 90%city 10%highway. Car park w/o roof 24/7(home/work). Low maintenance cost and good fc. Currently driving parent's 23yr old wira1.6AT. Would like to build up NCD from 0% with 3rd party insurance. Pay Cash.
2016 Perodua Axia - i think with 25k cash you might be able to fetch yourself a new Axia, yes you wanted a sedan but considering your budget and your lack of car knowledge maybe getting a new Axia would be an easier learning curve for you? Typically, a low problem, good fc, reliable and low maintenance car. In terms of reliability and fc the difference would be night and day compared to your current Wira, although I can understand your apprehension because it is a smaller car with a smaller engine -- not as powerful and also some people that are used to bigger cars are afraid of smaller cars.2. around RM25k

2013 Proton Persona - the car is only 3 years old so everything is definitely much better than your current car, going from a Wira you'll feel like the Persona has a better view of the road being higher as I know Wira always give you the sitting on the floor feeling which is good for boy racers but for normal work and family it isn't great -- too difficult for old people to go in and out low cars. Maintenance wise since it is the same class as your Wira it would be about the same, but FC would be much better.
2010 Nissan Latio - if you can afford to stretch your budget then going for something like this would be a much better option as it was designed with a new design paradigm. Cars like Wira/Persona/Sentra are made lower with much sportier feel and cramp cabin. Cars like Latio/City are made to have a more spacious interior and boot space, although looking more ugly you'll feel much more comfortable inside. Maintenance wise it isn't a big upgrade and should be about the same as your current car, although considered "old tech" engine and gearbox from a Japanese standpoint (that's why parts are cheaper) it is still a significant improvement over your Wira with such cars returning >400km per tank of fuel, Persona is not too bad too not to be biased, but we know the Japanese do it better.
