Personally, I would not compromise on anything that disrupts my ability to brake in time, knowing that a lot of drivers on Malaysian roads tend to swerve without signal. Just had an incident in the morning where a Citra swerved into my lane without looking, only after I honk, he then puts on his signal. As usual, ABS kicked in during hard braking... mad.gif

Uhh depends on the warranty package you got when you bought the car. I think normally its 5 years.

JC Racing... Around RM11000 for Sprintex + Hondata

Sprintex brings you to 160-170 on wheel with 0.5 to 0.6 bar. 200whp is only safe for MT.

True.. For CVT there would be some hard time for the gearbox in the long run when u plonk in a SC..

How ever i can get you a special price but outside... A sprintex sC all in prolly ard 10k below..

1. just curious if compare sprintex SC and Jackson SC, which is giving the best HP increment and still can retain good FC in normal driving...
2. can JC Racing tune CRZ to make SC intergrate with IMA? coz if not mistaken hondata don't have any IMA options in the software. its up to the tuner to tune...

1) Different thing. Sprintex = Twin Screw SC (Constant boost therefore you get good kick from low end, but the maximum boost level is limited). Jackson SC = Centrifugal (Boost climbs with your engine speed, the higher rev the higher boost, it is more suitable for engine like K20A alike). FC wise, for CRZ 1.5, both are almost same. But in engines like K20A, Sprintex would likely worsen the FC with the constant boost. Safe to say, Sprintex is good for day to day city driving as you don't really need to rev to get the power. And JC Racing does not recommend Rotrex (Jackson SC) for CRZ, it is somehow pointless with only 6800RPM and a 1.5. The Sprintex kit for CRZ is the same across for Jazz and City. Another kit is for Campro engines.

2) Yes they can... They already did it to their CRZ ZF1.

Wow... single stage paint... Haha...

The other colors definitely clear coated smile.gif as I have touched and detailed a few.

Storm Silver (ZF1) and Polish Metal (ZF2) still the best to me.

hi guys,
want to ask about crz.

crz is below 10sec to sprint 0-100.
it's a 1.5L car and from what i understand, the power is assisted by electric motor.

as far as i know, the battery wont last long from full charge
let say i drive up genting at continous acceleration speed.

the battery probably drained even before i reach 1/4 of the hill.

does that mean the remaining uphill will only rely on 1.5L engine ?
so it will feel like a normal 1.5L car ? i.e Honda city

from my short observation yes long acceleration stretch you'll deplete the battery.

but coming out of corners you'll probably get some assist as the battery charges when you brake.

Clear bra aka paint protection film. (Ie: Xpel, 3m). But those are expensive, and people usually just do bonnet, front lip etc. And if the workmanship is not top notch, it gives you more headache than you expected. But if done properly, yes... It can even withstand a certain level of stone chipping (if you went too fast the sharp small rock will still chip it through). But Xpel claims self-healing which I haven't really go and see it.

From detailers point of view, it is hard to maintain a car scratch-less, and scratches isn't top concern. Holograms due to improper polishing, bird bombs and watermarks etching are. The latter 2 are due to user negligence. Swirls most of the time due to outside car wash, or improper washing technique by own self (using old cloth, rough and all).

My ride already 4.5 years with coating, just a few hairlines scratches here and there. An annually light polishing take care of that (which I only did once till now).

It will feel like a City/Jazz for ZF2. The HP/Torque is same as well as the ivtec mechanism (MT). CVT has slightly less as stated on brochure due to transmission.

You can always Sprintex it if you worry that much smile.gif

Storm Silver (ZF1) and Polish Metal (ZF2) still the best to me.

Single stage paint is old school... Generally, for Malaysian just forget it with our always send to outside car wash culture.

yup...try not to free gear coz that activates auto stop function...what i do is from gear 6 when reaching the ideal speed change to gear 2...so naturally we will free gear than shift to 2...

that we still can control but if during the time we want to find parking to avoid auto stop need to press the clutch...try to on aircon 5 speed no effect...

At oasis damansara. I think the mamak is called Barkath or Barakath.

Somewhere in sunway would be good too.

now i know why people hate crz coz after 4000rpm and onwards there is no power...coz compare to vtec when vtec is on at 6000rpm the power is there....crz higher rpm u press the pedal the car has no more power.....

if could only honda make a dohc vtec hybrid....ima will assist at lower range 1k rpm to 5.5k rpm...from 5.5k rpm to 9k rpm vtec take over......imagine that....no need of supercharge or turbo bolt on....just NA....by this way can beat the legendary b16a engine....

it has been 1 month old ODO 3500km, this morning i finally whack the car a little bit but a bit longer in sports mode(previous on normal & econ) and its fun to move around at every lane....

but i still miss my b18c engine...rev at 10k rpm... anyway the most important is the fuel saving...damn save compare to normal car (not prius ok).....nowadays that is more important....(if ur rich diff story la)

I can safe my petrol budget to half...before this it was rm600 spent for a month(previous car)...now is rm280 to rm300... rclxm9.gif

i disagree...for the past 22 months of ownership and whacking it on my daily commute to/from work on MEX highway, there's definitely more acceleration when you downshift (mine is MT) to 4th from 6th when you're rolling on at say 100 - 120kph compared to when only downshift to 5th...this is even more evident if you are going up an incline (common feature on MEX)...also, you save more battery juice when you keep it in higher revs

I keep mine on normal mode only as I feel that in sport mode it gives an artificial impression of "still" having power reserve when you're half throttling it. and when you depress the throttle fully it doesn't give any additional power compared to half throttle mad.gif

Time for Hondata + GE8 Cams... so that you can get the High-low VTEC valves. Make sure you change the intake manifold to the GE8 one as well and use Hondata to tune it together, as apparently it can help with a torque dip at about 3000rpm when the high cams switch over.

i tot the FL CRZ is using hi-low vtec as opposed to pre-FL which uses 12v-16v vtec ... changing the GE8 Cams will yield decent improvement for FL CRZs ?

I believe Naka7a is having a pre-FL CRZ.... pls correct me if I am wrong. But you are correct, the FL CRZ is using the hi-low cams already, so no change in FL CRZ. Only pre-FL CRZ have this problem.

I believe Naka7a is having a pre-FL CRZ.... pls correct me if I am wrong. But you are correct, the FL CRZ is using the hi-low cams already, so no change in FL CRZ. Only pre-FL CRZ have this problem.

ah my bad, i tot you guys are talking about the FL version.

They expecting to get a powerful sport car instead of a sporty hybrid ... expectation not on par hence sell off ... plus this car not that practical ... only 2 seater .. even a Satria has better practicality with its seat-able rear seats ... rclxm9.gif

was travelling on the NSH last friday evening and there was a heavy downpour. I was travelling at 110kph on the overtaking lane and i hit some running water on the road. VSC light was blinking for about 5 secs but the car remained straight. question is, did my car aquaplaned due to the lousy bridgestone tires or because the car is too light? never had that problem in my nose heavy V6 running on michelins...

i think the cargo space for crz is pretty decent, and u can fold the seats. But they dont have to know that..lol

aquaplaned i think cuz VSC will activate when at least one wheel is out of place not in sync with the ground ... running to the water would render the ECU thinks that the wheel is not touching the ground. Possible for VSC to activate ..

plus ur V6 is heavier, the Z is lighter ... ground clearance is higher during aquaplanning i think ..

5 secs blink is quite serious. but i think any car can aquaplane, but this heavily depends on your tires. you are on original tires? those aren't too bad tires sweat.gif

ori RE050A tires...done 25k kms...alignment all ok....so your guess is that the car is too light? not enough downforce?

I dont think weight is the problem. as busses and lorries will suffer aquaplanning too. could be the tires.

Modern cars if you believe, has little to no need of Stiff Ring or generally called rigid collar.

LCP wise, yes... I was skeptical for so many years until I decided to put it on after reading tons of reviews + expertise from maddriver and drex. The claim of losing top speed is quite non-sense now as I have installed it and tried it.

But as far as I recall, Mythelogy are not doing LCP for Honda models. I am lucky to get one from them when they just produced 5 units to be tested.

Stiff ring is good, car feels more taut during cornering and responds better. However, note 2 things over the stiff rings, first it may void warranty for your subframe chassis, and potentially the whole car. Secondly, the installation have to be done precisely (using a torque wrench, not by mechanic's feel) and have to be re-tighten again later roughly 2-3 weeks after installation. Make sure installation is done professionally no matter where you go to...

I have never used LCP on the Honda engine, but did use one previously on my Nissan. I refused to use LCP on the LEA engine as there is no internal balancer for the engine (there is internal balancing for the Nissan), hence no feedback over the LCP. But from my Nissan's feel, it definitely liberates more power and torque as the LCP is much lighter than the normal crank pulley. Just make sure you do not undersize the pulley if you intend to change it, and make sure there is a dampener on the LCP when you install (excessive vibration on the crank can potentially be catastrophic).

Cheers...

ok one complaint about the auto stop

it seems to shut the engine even if i have the car in gear with the clutch depressed at low speed.

and if i accelerate again at any other gear (lets say gear 2) other than gear 1, it doesn't start by itself! what happens is that there is a major drag as i let go of the clutch but the engine is still stopped

is this damaging to the transmission/car??

can't find info about the damage putting the car in gear in a moving car when the engine is dead hmm.gif

Only on 1st gear that you can keep the engine running with the clutch depressed. This is one of the method I use in bumper to bumper jams

Hi CR-Z Owner,
This morning I bump into a CR-Z rear bumper. The clip at both side seems like came off. I tried to push it in but it doesn't stick.

May I know how much it cost to repair this?

Please see attached image. It is the lower part of the rear bumper, the black color part (in red circle). And the side that came off is as per yellow color arrow.

Thanks @Naka7a , i guess i'll need to ask owner to try to push it back at Honda SC then. if the clips really broken...then i've no choice but to pay for whole bumper.

yeah, try it at the SC first. otherwise you can always try to ask from other CRZ guys if they have that black piece lying around, cause some of them changed the diffuser to other kind(without changing the whole bumper)

the diffuser is held by 3 big clips, you can try to remove the whole diffused by locating the 3 clips from under the bumper ... might be the clips bengkok ... just push the clips out then the diffuser will be able to be removed.

2 weeks ago my CRZ also got banged by a Kancil. I walk down to check the damage, little of paint scratched & left side of my diffuser was separated with the bumper. When i gonna mad of the driver, i saw his bonnet was kemek, with little smokes and water starts leaking under the engine, then i silent..

Lucky his a foreman also, taking my car to his workshop, assemble back the diffuser, little paint job, settle..

Thumbs up for Honda not using fragile material as the Kancil does.

Apparently foglamps are under "wear and tear" so it is not covered under warranty. There is some wiring problems with the foglamps and the SC wants to charge rm200-300 labour charges JUST TO CHECK THE WIRING.. -.-

Any of you guys got contact or workshop to check wiring for me? In Klang Valley if possible.

Thanks!

Have you checked the bulb, has it blown?
I do not think foglamp itself is not a wear and tear item, only the bulb is wear and tear. Even the wiring is not a wear and tear item. The SC is trying to make a fool of you, if they say foglamp is a wear and tear item. Argue with them, or go to other SC to fix...

Before you drive off in the morning, check if the disc rotors are rusted (they rust easily). That is usually the problem with the brakes squeak and will go away after driving a while.
If brakes are nice and clean, go for a brake service (take out pads, and sand them down a bit), and make sure no brackets etc are touching the disc rotors. My stock brakes never squeak before, unless I trash the brakes... but will still return to normal (no sound) once the heat dissipates.
Hope this helps...!

i disagree...for the past 22 months of ownership and whacking it on my daily commute to/from work on MEX highway, there's definitely more acceleration when you downshift (mine is MT) to 4th from 6th when you're rolling on at say 100 - 120kph compared to when only downshift to 5th...this is even more evident if you are going up an incline (common feature on MEX)...also, you save more battery juice when you keep it in higher revs
I keep mine on normal mode only as I feel that in sport mode it gives an artificial impression of "still" having power reserve when you're half throttling it. and when you depress the throttle fully it doesn't give any additional power compared to half throttle  mad.gif

thats a crz...anyway honda did try something new....good for honda...really want to get that supercharger....

Go get it man... just make sure someone reputable does it for you, if you want to know of a good mechanic for the CRZ supercharger, you can PM me.
At this moment, my pockets are not as deep yet, so I had to hold off further mods, so no supercharger for me. Its great that there is no alternator in the CRZ, the supercharger can be mounted on that location with ease.

ha an alternative....good....NA is better...more revs....

Only problem with revs is that people think you are struggling to pick up speed... with exhaust bellowing loudly. Oh well... you just can't please everyone.

Nope I didn't, I had it installed in my N16 Nissan previously, and eventhough the engine have an internal balancer shaft, I can feel that the engine is taking a strain after using it for a few years. I sold off the car before any further damage was done. Since the CRZ engine has no balancer shaft, I decided not to put it in... it is easier and safer to do NA tune or supercharger.

Should wait for PP material, it is kind of expensive for that price and getting ABS.

And that place is, Honda GA Bangi isn't it.

Oh... 失敬... No wonder...

But bodykit is out of my league already haha after playing bodykits with Civic FD.

However, I still would put up a side skirt for any future car. Not because of aesthetic, but to block excessive splash up to door side. As a detailer, I noticed car without additional side skirt usually got hell lot to clean on door side.

Car with side skirt, since the side skirt usually will extend outwards slight than the door, it will block most splashing under the skirting.

maybe coz i dont drive very long distances and i can hardly cruise here..town driving is like stop and go, breaking and accelerating with slow cars in front and jamming. no highway even flyover dont always use. cant drive a few minutes without stopping for redlight, roundabout and junction. unless i go more sub-urban places where roads are clear and long.

last Friday was my 2nd service(5000km). I let Honda choose what oil to use. then when I got the car, I drove it. then I notice that the car response a bit slow, meaning car not power anymore...I use to drive in normal and after 3 days still the same slow response...to my conclusion...previous engine oil is better than this 0w 20 fully synthetic Honda...what do u think guys? the previous engine oil is from japan right?

I only manage 23km/l. but this is on hway on econ mode...usually I bring my family (2 adults+ 2 kids) jln2 at putrajaya...surprisingly I can manage 22km/l hway of course on econ mode...if sports only can go as far as 19km/l(really light footed). normal mode seldom use.
during at night and morning time car feels really responsive if to compare afternoon time...
24km/l? maybe after this after I reset the km/l and try to get that figure.

24km/l to get avg is really impossible. on this car u can get combine of 16.1- 16.5km/l if 100% hway different la...

for hway only u can get more than 20km/l on econ mode speeds 80km/l and below u can achieve that...

If 100% highway cannot get 24km/L eh? Can la...

I use Honda City also can get le, and I definitely don't do 80km/h lol. And I am even talking the record breaking FC from KL to Penang. I frequent Bukit Tinggi back to Sri Petaling using KESAS can get already.

FD2 100% highway from KL to Penang I also can get 18km/L averaging 110-150km/h.

Hopefully Honda dont discontinue CRZ. Cuz coming years got Malaysia Japan Economic Partnership Agreement as announced in NAP2014. Just slight increase the price and then gradually decrease, i wish cry.gif

2013 - 13.6% tax for CBU
2014 - 9.1% tax for CBU
2015 - 4.6% tax for CBU
2016 - 0% tax for CBU (same tax like CKD)

Plus Honda City Hybrid might come to shores to replace Insight.

really? this can't be? this is bad. mine is manual so fuel consumption is a bit off... I remember... I read that crz if hway not so fuel saving but in town yes. coz if combine get 16.km/l. slightly better than any 1.5 NA car in its class.

crz manual 38 mpg hway/31 mpg city/36 mpg combine.

depends on which warranty you are talking about. there are different warranties, and different ways of voiding them. got to interview the SC's for this piece of info.

if im not mistaken, if you do anything to suspension (rims, absorber, spring) then suspension warranty is void, if you do wiring then battery void. if you do engine mods (exhaust, cams, pulleys etc) engine void. only related parts to your mod is void. which is stupid but yea..

Actually, they can argue with almost any mods you do to the car, for example bigger rims means more stress to the driveshaft and the brakes too, and will affect the gearbox and drivetrain.

If you are worried about warranties, please keep the car stock. If you want to mod, go all out as long as your purse permits. Happy modding guys!

Okay i get it now. I changed my rims and they also said they wont cover warranty for brakes, suspension now.

Im just worried about the battery's warranty, none other. If theres something wrong with the battery and the warranty is void, then its a problem.

i think brake and suspension warranty you dont need to worry about much.

brakes dont usually fail. your usual brakepad maintenance isn't expensive. suspension is abit soft for me as well so better off changing springs or going for adjustables anyway laugh.gif

however, my SA did warn to never do any wiring jobs on the car. so that means no lala light mods, no ICE, no additional cameras and no touchscreens

Yeap, i dont mind about the brake and suspension parts. Just the battery rolleyes.gif

Thats what my SA told me too, just dont tamper with the wiring.

yeah... it's quite interesting for the service personnel to ask you to change the injectors, not something that you would change during service intervals unless it is faulty right?

That is correct. Injectors are changed only if they are faulty, or completely blocked/jam. To clean the injectors, a bottle of Redline injector cleaners can do the trick, but usually done when mileage is high, such as 40k km or more.
My old car, i do it once every 80k km.... it ran perfectly until i sold it at 220k km, never had to once change the injectors.

efisherman, you might want to re-check again with that SC that you have done that swap, on the reason why they did the injector change. Cheers...!

Hold the clock button and press the corresponding hour or minute.

Are you facing this issue due to weak battery? Loose connection?

Hey bro its me. You might wan to check your battery connectors. I face this also before 1k service. Weeks later I cant even start my car on a morning. Check on the battery the connector I can just unplug with bare hands. Tighten it and then its fine afterwards till now. I asked the SC to double check the battery too when 1k service and battery is fine.

Depends on ur driving style. On average pure city driving light footed shouldn't have a problem getting 13/14 km/l

Highway can get 20++ depending what speed on average.

MT Honda no more stock, only cvt left. Gotta get second hand d

Battery overheating from constant discharge and charging, so the blower is on extra high speed mode. The blower is located near the battery at the luggage compartment, and pulls the air from the vent holes located beside the passenger seat.
It should stop once the battery cools down....

I read at Paul Tan yesterday, Malaysia no more stock for MT transmission but who knows.

Mine's a 2013 FL 6MT. I used to pump shell full tank rm75 no mods can go up to 450km per tank full city drive.

After changing to 17 rims and springs and using a new engine lubricant. Pump BHP also rm75, i can go up to 550km per tank full city drive.

The distance per tank are not including the reserve tank. This is upto all the bars on the petrol gauge are gone.

Hi guys. Burnt smell at some times while using the S+ button or right after using it is normal right (due to battery charging/discharging???)? Happened to me twice...just got the car yesterday.

I think I read about this issue somewhere but can't remember. BTW, the smell is definitely not from the air cond.

Thanx man.

Really luv the batt assist in low n mid range rpm.makes the car more torquey. Handling is also quite good for a standard set up,dont think i'm lowering the car as planned earlier.

Yeap true, have you changed your rims and tires? The handling will be better after you upgrade.
Why you dont want to lower it?

for my case I own a Hyundai elantra..I commute from cheras to shah alam...monthly fuel for the car is rm500. its way of my budget...so I sell the car buy crz monthly used for rm250....yeah if u chose prius I will save more...but where is the fun of driving? for me to commute every day 100km....totally boring if to drive a normal car...need something to play around...

So from cheras to shah alam everyday only took you RM 250 for fuel?

My daily commute is only about 20 km back and forth and i allocate RM 250 too for fuel blink.gif

Well...the standard handling is already good enuff 4 me...plus i wd think ground clearance will b an issue as i need to go pass a few big bumps in n out of my housing area.

My car is already running on 17s.minimal difference in ride comfort compared to stock wheels, which is a pleasant surprise.

*
thats pretty good, as for me.. on week days i travel around avg of 40-55kms daily.. and over 100kms on weekends.. i only fuel up my car once in every 1.5 weeks.. now clocking ard avg og 17kms/l..every tank full thats with mods.. (17" + exhaust system + bla bla bla ).. imagine if my car is stock standard it might clock over 22km/l prolly..

as my daily route is mostly highway and less traffic..

Lowering the car helps. Decrease in drag. Increase in acceleration, handling and fuel efficiency.. and most importantly VERY minimized body roll. I hated the body roll with the stock springs, feels like being thrown out of the car at high speed turns. Lol.

Oh, nitrogen filled tires are really nice to drive. Very light too.

I read that cutting the bump stops is important to ensure comfort when using lowered springs. Did u guys cut em?or just install the springs?

Well you can try, but it must be done properly though. The shop i went to the removed the tire from the rim to clear out the water vapor before filling it with nitrogen.

I have small problems with ramps cause it scrapes the rubber part under the bumper but so far bumps are fine. Ride comfort is depending on you. Now my ride is quite bumpy on uneven road, but very minimal body roll during turns.

but does it really makes any different??? , because once u mount the tyre to the rim, it will contain air inside, unless you using the enkei famous dual valve stems rim,so the nitrogen can fully go in while the oxygen can fully drain laugh.gif

Comfort will not be good once u go change the springs, especially lowering ones since the spring and absorber travel will be shorter. There are no "comfort" lowering springs available anywhere as it would cause the car to bottom-out during driving. If you are concerned about comfort, keep it stock, it is the best compromise at this moment.
Cheers...

Its a very personal question, it all depends on individual. If you can live with manual on a day to day basis, manual is definitely a better choice IMHO, as the manual gearbox for the CRZ is as slick as it can get, and has a great feel to it. However if you are stuck in a jam most of the time, manual gearbox can be frustrating to live with, and the auto can be a left leg saver....
The other item to consider if you are planning for mods, especially on power mods, as most aftermarket stuff are made for manual CRZ. Very limited amount of mods are made for auto CRZ, and some are not even available for auto box (such as the Idle-Stop Canceller). If you are going for mods, CRZ manual cars are the best and can cope better with more power and high torque from the engine (forced induction mods). If you are going this path, it is either you import the manual CRZ via Honda Malaysia (gonna be very expensive), or get a used ZF1 manual CRZ which can be bought at a good bargain now. thumbup.gif
Hope this helps!

Yeah...

@Nitrous

I'm a little concerned about the mods-friendliness of the auto but I don't think I'll be doing much mods apart from rims and maybe the header unit..

So after a whole lot of thinking I decided to go for the auto Z.. Will keep you guys updated on the progress.. Thanks smile.gif blush.gif

that's is strangely correct because sports mode use more batt power on acceleration, hence lower fc. however, frequent full discharge of batt will result in shorter lifespan...

model is still supported by Honda Malaysia and I guess don't have to worry as long as warranty is still there. Even if there's no more warranty the crz is not THAT rare in Malaysia. Should still be ok.

I think this is because the actual car price is actually quite low. Part of the 119k otr price before this goes to AP (30k+) if not mistaken. So if tax based on car price alone it makes sense at 160k+

what do u think on below ?

Meanwhile, UMW Toyota Motor president, Datuk Ismat Suki, commented that the plan of assembling Toyota Camry hybrids locally will depend on the decision of extending the tax exemption. Without the tax incentives, hybrid automotive cannot be priced attractively, hence, suppressing its demand.
With the increase of petrol and diesel prices, the hybrid automotive market has been receiving lucrative response from automotive buyers. However, if the hybrids could no longer be priced competitively, the demand may simmer down. The middle income earners who are keen on the hybrids may rethink their decision as not to dent their budget.

middle income will think about like this...
- buy normal car for 100k rather than 170k and keep the extra 70k for petrol
- i need to pay more interest for 170k unless i pay cash
- uncertain whether bank will approve for 170k car whereby no prob with 100k

Middle income can afford 170k ? They dont need to think, its obvious they cant afford it at all.

Mid income 5-10k per month earner like me can only afford Proton cars.

No they won't. I am not a Honda worker, but Honda Malaysia has never brought in any such kits before in their history. You are better off importing the set yourself and get someone to install it for you, assuming that the Malaysia CRZ cars are compatible with it (note it is only meant for US market CRZ, they have different ECU codes).

Usually Honda will promote bodykits only.. performance parts I don't think so. need to go to Amoil racing or other performance shop to get all the engine upgrade. parts...

Not even a month of ownership, but someone already scratched the car.dont even start on how many times i've been tailgated on the road....2 nights ago a bog standard viva was up my zed's ass!!!WTF!!!!

We need more luv on our roads lah..

this extra feature teaches all of us to bersabar on the road. people are really not happy with their own car that's why need to vent it out on us. thumbup.gif

actually on a serious note, the crz does comes with a feature that was never mentioned in the brochure. the glovebox is air-cooled. there's a switch at the top right corner of the glovebox. not sure if it's something everyone knows. biggrin.gif

Yup,i think @Nakata is right.my dealer didnt mention abt the chilled glovebox. I knew abt it while reading the manual.

At least can keep 2-3 cans of cold pepsi to drink during jams!

biar lah. cause sometimes i think it's some of the rotten apples that makes people don't like cr-z drivers. saw 3 cr-zs driving dangerously in jln kuching during rush hour yesterday. particularly one with a malaccan plate drove in the middle of two lanes, hazard lights on. weave in and out, drove into the emergency lane. don't think he/she was in an emergency at all. white crz with sheriff star stickers all over the car. hmm.gif

hmm... but the sticker don't look like a bomba official car. just too dangerous the way he drove. no strobe lights, but hazard lights were on though.

1,2, or 3.... sama jugak kan? no difference. the only valid reason to drive that way is when you are driving an ambulance. even some convoys on the road are annoying as hell.

Our car with the electric motor combined output can consider as 1.8. The FB Civic 2.0 can keep up. But FD Civic 2.0 that one abit hard depending on the driver of the cars. Focus can keep up also cause its heavy. I tried. lol.. Focus ST then just put econ mode and watch it go into hyperspace.

Straight line our Z may lose out but when it comes to turns or winding roads.... cool2.gifcool2.gifcool2.gifcool2.gifcool2.gif

I will slow down and let them (try) to pass...then tekan minyak and let them see smoke..lol! Mostly the Protons, Myvis and other P2s including souped up civics. I use same trick with my bigger car with these pesky mosquitoes when I'm in the mood. If Porsche or Ferrari including F10s come from behind, I let them pass unmolested, no point being a mosquito myself.

if you ter-kacau a type-r then it's your own fault laugh.gif

but usually can tell by the brakes and also how the car bobs up and down on the road cause the type-r suspension is stiff. if a normal fd goes on and mods the calipers and put adjustable then i dont know how to differentiate lol

I took a video of me chasing a FD 2.0 at a highway with no other cars. Pretty much can keep up around 180 kmh but there was a cornering where i lost. Wasnt brave enough with the stock suspension.

EDIT : Btw, the FD got into a small accident about 20 mins after the chase, i was behind him.

Wow!what a response!

Dont get me wrong...i have no disrespect for any other car brand or model...just that i've been experiencing a lot of tailgating/kena cucok whenever i drive my zed, even tho i m sitting in the left lane doing 80-90kmh with a clear mid n right lane at 2 in the morning!

Worrying abt the super close car at the back is the last thing u want when u just returned frm work or long meeting.

Drive safe n enjoy your rides peeps!

Hi, wanted to install a gps audio system. The sale agent said there are two brands: Hanns and Flyaudio. Whats the different (apart from the price)?

Not much info on the Hanns units, their website didn't have the specification but the SA said Hanns is not HD screen and the audio is not as good but price wise Hanns is cheaper by 1k.

Can't be...! On one fine night last year, I was driving more than 190 km/h, around 203km/h when the road permit, on the Melaka - Seremban stretch , and I felt I haven't able to put the Z to limit yet...! There were still gap between the paddle and the floor...

By the way, I think I also smoked couple of mod non type R FD on the same nigh tongue.gif

I'm driving a stock, CVT Z...

I'm lovin' it...! brows.gif

your old neo, stock form ker? hmm.gif cause i thought the crz is better than my 1.3 neo(braking system is the same for both 1.6 and 1.3 right). experienced once where the brakes did not respond at all while going downhill @genting.

crz original brakes are from Nisin btw. brows.gif

yup I think others also experience it...feels scary sometimes when apply brakes the car wont stop I mean need to press more to get the car to stop...if lets say upgrade supercharger definitely need to change brake set coz for sure it will be so dangerous to stop a 170whp car...my experience with new elantra, it has a good brake...I mean it constantly brake when I press the pedal...sometimes feels like the systems help me to brake if I brake suddenly...it helps a lot when ur not pay attention on roads...(looking at hp)

CAI got use ke?

It's widespread that there is no difference and if any difference also it's minor improvement on turbo setup.

So far there has been claims that it liberates 5hp out of the installation :
http://www.crzforum.com/forum/auto-city-im...6ft-lbs-tq.html
On my personal opinion, it does give some better throttle response, and engine revs faster, but I cannot substantiate that with a dyno chart, as I did a whole lot more than just an air filter during my dyno. If you are planning just for a plug and play, then probably minor improvements IMHO compared to stock paper filter kind, similar gains can also be obtained with a drop in performance filters too. More gains can be obtained if the car is tuned properly (in my case Hondata) to fully utilize the lean fuel mixture after installing.
Cheers...

The Honda Jazz assembled in Melaka are lower spec than those CBU. Less air bag, lousier disc brake, etc. If they gonna assemble CRZ here, i think its gonna be lower spec as well.

Don't think it will be assembled here, CRZ is not a volume seller which explains why until today there are still old stock available. They can't recuperate the CKD costs if they assemble it in Malaysia, hence CKD cars are always a volume seller.

Ditto, that is correct, as there has been an overlap of models, namely Civic Hybrid and Insight. These 2 models cannibalize each other in the sales, so not surprised if one of them gets scrapped.

As mentioned by Kikifish, Insight will no longer be sold. As for the CRZ, like all 2 door cars, they are low volume sellers thus makes no economic sense to CKD it here in Malaysia. I would think Honda would prefer to concentrate on bread and butter models like CKD Honda Jazz, Jazz Hybrid, Civic and CRV, coz those cars are "safer bets" in economic terms.

IMHO, I think the problem with the brakes is that they do not give much feel when you press them....maybe its due to whatever tech/device Honda uses to re charge the batts while braking?

still...I would say the original brakes are merely adequate...they just get the job done. i'm sure better braking performance is just a brake pad change away.

Usually not enough.... if you plan to do it correctly.
Proper Supercharger/turbo kit is already 15k, and u still have not put in the extras like meter gauges, tuning, brakes, tyres etc, usually a full job takes about 25k...

i just bought air filter simota and the sound is great...rpm at 3.5k can hear the air filter loudly, the performance in sport mode rpm to 7k is fast...but it feels like I lost some of the low torque...damn....if compare to Takeda air filter (rm1700-insane) the piping is different design...maybe this is to tackle the low torque problem...

What is with all those Civic drivers mind ya..? Driving a CR-Z does not make us a racer or enemy to them automatically right..? Why can't we have peace together on the road, and make Malaysia a nicer place to drive for all other road users..? smile.gif

And to all CR-Z owner, please do not "cucuk" people anymore la..! I am also a victim of "kena cucuk" by not only Civic but Myvy, Swift and even some Saga before. I don't know what wrong have i done... Maybe I was driving a bit too slow, but i can't be fast at Federal Highway in weekdays morning with so many cars in front of me right..? We can have a short race sometime in an open road but not during weekdays with traffic jam lo...

I thought standard its 7k + 3k bonus? as seen in the promotion website. Btw yea Kuching cant get better offers than peninsular coz competition there is alot more. So i had to squeeze for more last year lol.

Congrats new zed owners!

Dont worry abt not test driving the car....i did the same too n am very satisfied with the car (so far..hehe)

Its all about mindset...if u r buying the zed with the mindset of "1.5 petrol n roadtax with 1.8 performance" u will b satisfied with the car.

If u buy with the mindset of "saving fuel n beating prius FC"...then you'll be sorely dissappointed.

Enjoy your zeds!

My wife planned to get a CRZ. Actually i want it first. Been planning quietly but now suddenly she told me about her intention. I don't think having 2 CRZs is a good idea.

Anyway is it true the car does not come with a spare donut? Heard this frm a friend who just bought a jazz hybrid

im curious about this too... it's logical that the battery would take up the space where you usually find a spare tyre, and in the brochure, a TRK - temporary repair kit(?) is mentioned...

I placed my order last month and still waiting for stock. SA said only can get the stock mid of March. According to SA, becoz the car has been sitting in PDI in Bangi warehouse for almost a year, they need to do a full inspection before releasing it to the dealer.

I booked metal polish!!! can't wait
