the usual/conventional "human detector" is just infrared detector... i'm not sure how a small sensor can detect wide angle + motion/movements or maximum distance from the sensor... is it written in the operation manual?

For me I just get the simple air cond, no need to worry on failed ICs later on.
When you have failed parts, it will be wasting more power than normal.

If it working why change? Use until not working change. Even change to the most saving Ac won' give you the saving of buying new 8ACs.

Can safe 1 unit a day also good enough.
Considering people now prefer to spend rm1000 to safe rm0.01 icon_rolleyes.gif

Heh,lol actually I want those with many air cleaning thingy.
Basically I don't trust much on those filter system as you need to change it regularly, it just like our car's air filter.
Keep your room clean will be the best way.
You can get bad smell is because the room not clean.

[/quoteThat's why I only turn it on at night for my bedroom. Usually in a week only 3 day I turn it on for sleep. Plus I set the AC to blow cool air to ceiling,so no direct contact.

Is the air too dry that caused lung to be weaker.
Still natural air will be the best.
Now staying in Middle East, everyday air cond only, within 2 months I get flu twice doh.gif

Beware, 27°C will cause the air cond(non inverter type) to cut in/out too often, the capacitor will spoil faster than normal.

Hi. I plan to get a 2.5hp cassette type for my home.
I need something reliable long lasting and quiet.
Can recommend me any good brand or model??
Thanks ya...
*
Want long lasting is still the most basic type, so no inverter for you whistling.gif
Just get split unit type, easier to maintain.

York. I see a lot of banks using this brand. Running all day long.
*
York are good for business usage, for house use, sorry, I won't consider this.
My neighbor installed his 2HP York half a year before my Panasonic 2HP. Now already 2 years my blower unit and compressor unit are still quiet but my neighbor's compressor unit starting to vibrate and very noisy.

You can always be the pioneer.
But for my family, that's already 35 years we use National, Panasonic, so I won't really try others, especially kimchi brands.

Just bought an online electricity consumption meter for my house.

This chart shows my house total consumption. During this time I had two airconds running - one inverter, and one non-inverter.

The non-inverter aircond's 1000W cycles are quite clear. As the night progresses, the cycles become further apart. At about 11PM this aircond is turned off.

I drew in red my guesstimate of the inverter aircond's power consumption. Check out how it steps down gradually and eventually settles down on a cycle that's way smaller (in amplitude).

9-11pm no lights, TV, washing machine or other appliance turned on?
Still, the multi million question asked : how much is your monthly bill?
I have 2 air conds(both non-inverter) and turn them on for 2-4 hours daily or lesser and my bill only standing at rm
50-85.

hi guys...i'm going for non inverter air con...looking at york, but shopguy recommend use Mitsubishi as york ourdoor the compressor very noisy. he show the Mitsubishi outdoor compressor which is pretty silent since his shop is turning on the Mitsusbishi..jus wondering is Mitsubishi that good?
*
York are good for business usage.
If he is getting premium on Mitsubishi brand, sure they will praise Mitsubishi like god.
Most of the basic non inverter type do last long, since it does not controlled by IC, so either Mitsubishi or Panasonic will do the job. You may need to compare the price between them.

what's the good practice to install copper and power cable, should the power cable separate or bundled ? or it doesn't matter?
*
New house? This is poor workmanship.
If renovation not done, try to remove it, make a bigger hole then put a PVC pipe.
Then it will be easier to work on it during servicing.
Cold won't really kill the wire.

Not to mention that R104a is much more "greener" than R22
R22 technology is minimal 15 years old man.

Using air cond in the first place already damaging the environment. 1KW produced about 100kg of CO2, NOX, SOX that can create acid rain whistling.gif

Hi!

Need advise on AC for (25 ft ×10 ft) area, it is dining area combined with kitchen. Does height of ceilings also to be considered, as 15 ft length of the area is 14 ft tall and the next 10 ft length goes down till 10 ft tall (hope you understand my explanation hehehe..)

I only will use it during cooking (cooking can use AC?) and dining.

TQ.

My company provided us an air cond in kitchen. We always turn it on while cooking thumbup.gif
Nothing much, every month we are complaining not cold and no air flow doh.gif doh.gif
3 China men that like to cook with big fire, so with a good exhaust also the same = useless laugh.gif
Do not turn on air cond when cooking, as it will leave oil stain and very hard to clean.

Wonder why my cousion say the inverter unit is more manja, and easy spoil? My brother inverter unit also spoil within 1 and half year
*
Why? Because most of the parts are made in China.
Circuit board fail faster. Air cond is used to cool the room down. If you want it to work more than that, then be prepared to pay more.

Is you and your neighbor only, no need to involved others. You don't know how to respect others, doesn't mean others will be same as you.

Air cond is recirculating air only, but it can't filter out oil+smoke.
