There must be a big reason why Corsair cant change to standard layout....OEM cost? PCB already printed? Keycaps already ordered maybe.... its not like susah sangat nak buat, but if planning have been done eons ago, maybe initial production has already started...

I suspect the same thing. Contract with PCB maker perhaps? But I think its involving cost. Yeah, Corsair seems like didn't get what end user want. Or he answer them like that intentionally.

i think end users like us who likes changing keycaps are a minority in their book.
they don't need to spend additional cost to change their layout/design just because of this small minorities.

i think at the end of the day, we might see gaming mod kits coming from keycaps suppliers

It break their heart when people mentioning their rival such as CM Storm. The backlit is not really an issue as it can be turn off. Oh Corsair, change your layout and you can beat your rival. But TBH, even though I'm a gamer I don't think gamers design make you a gamer. But most gamers want that kind of design, to be different from ordinary keyboard.

I don't see any starcraft progamer use "gaming" keyboard. the design and macro are just gimmick imo

gamers would want custom keycaps on their keyboard so they are different from the rest of the razer, steelseries, corsair keyboards in tournament halls

The funny thing is when a gamer said macro is a must. After buy standard mechanical keyboard, they didn't complaint regarding the absent of macro key.

I don't think so. Imagine Razer with pink keycaps. It's more like a pink hearted gamers. Pink means not pro. From what I observe in Dota 2 facebook group, when someone ask what keyboard should they buy, the first brand is Razer BWU, followed by Logitech because Razer sucks. Then Corsair fan came in, bashing them all. CM fan will try to join the crowd and they will say CM design too common. And that's where Roccat and Armageddon come in.

Recent case, this fellow fall in love with pink white Limited Edition Ducky, and I support him. And I was the only person that ask him to buy Ducky. And another guy attached lowyat.net mechanical V18 link. And the rest, gaming link, review, and gaming brand. And they start to bash each other.

Admin seems like to hate me, deleting every my sale thread but allowing racist and stupid link post. The saddest facebook group of all.

Their OEM known to use their own weird 1.5,1 and 1.25 mix modifiers, not sure why.

But then, since this new RGB MX require RGB led to surface mounted on the PCB, they might need new OEM for that?

If on fulfilling what user wants, I think chinabrands like KBC, PLUM or even keycool are the closest one. They even care about the modability of their keyboards which mostly only non-mainstream keyboarders like us care.

On international level, I will say CM is the one. They spamming out lines and lines of products made by different oem, with different layout and now even to the extend of putting topre switches. No other players did like them.
