QUOTE(justnits @ Dec 6 2013, 03:18 PM) http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=51868.90 There must be a big reason why Corsair cant change to standard layout....OEM cost? PCB already printed? Keycaps already ordered maybe.... its not like susah sangat nak buat, but if planning have been done eons ago, maybe initial production has already started...from this discussion here with the corsair representative in GH, i doubt corsair is going to change into standard layout and from his reply, itu corsair rep cuba lari topik |

QUOTE(quovadis123 @ Dec 8 2013, 03:22 PM) Remap caplock to backspace: I feel like a noob.... keep looking at the keyboard to find the letters if you using Windows, you may use AutoKey to map. Capslock::Backspace If Mac, you can use PCKeyBoardHack. What's your opinion regarding Dvorak layout? no ctrl+C/X/V ???? This post has been edited by antonio: Dec 8 2013, 03:41 PM |

QUOTE(quovadis123 @ Dec 8 2013, 03:50 PM) Same like qwerty-layout, ctrl+c, ctrl+v but you find it very not convenience. mebbe i just leave it as it is n start looking for dvorak keysetsSince c on the upper row, and v on lower row. You may remap it also if you want. I really depends on the F J bump when typing dvorak. https://www.dropbox.com/s/6tqtjpdj5h9ajnm/2...%2015.51.47.jpg |

QUOTE(Human10 @ Dec 8 2013, 08:20 PM) Unless custom order, I doubt there will be Dvorak key set readily available out there. Blank keys kaluuu.... I will not be able type at all... It is better to adapt I blank keycaps, so you are free to change layout whenever you wish. found this just now.... if no other http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/104...html#ad-image-0 This post has been edited by antonio: Dec 8 2013, 11:16 PM |

QUOTE(hooh888 @ Dec 10 2013, 01:54 PM) hi guys, i am totally new to this mechanical keyboard thing, and have never tried one so i don't know how it feels. my armaggeddon ak-300 is definitely not a mechanical keyboard so i am wondering if the difference is really big. QUOTE(hooh888 @ Dec 10 2013, 02:43 PM) noted, will head to heavy-arms to test some out this weekend. as for durability in terms of typing fast and HARD, are they the same? For me personally, my jump towards the mechanical keyboard bandwagon its primarily because I felt the tyyping experience was far more superior than a membrane keyboard feeling.Prior of getting my own mech keyboard, I tested MX black and browns in the form of a SS 7G & 6G and also a Filco Ninja.... Both switches were nice and suits what I'm looking for...But the switch I really wanted was a red MX which is about as Rare as a Ducky shine 3 TKL now...back then only had SS, Ducky and Filco with either black , brown and clicky blues to toy around... I work as a writer and almost 80 A4s pages with font 9 size I need to type monthly... So when I decided to pull the trigger, it was a Filco Pink Tenkeyless because 1) it is a tenkeyless and I don't need a numpad 24/7, secondly because it had white keycaps...' I wanted a red switch but it only comes in a limited edition Camo Red bla bla bla, which I didn't prefer... Ducky was around but its fairly new and trying to get reviews on it like almost close to none. SS i didn't opted because of the braided cable and the hideous keycaps font... Filco looks and feels much better..mine was equipped with a MX brown switch. For 3 years++ I type on a stock Filco TKL Brown, everything stock and no need to pull and plug back in ever...I was solid and was very dirty thanks to the white keycaps... My advice is this; DON'T GO TO THE SHOP AND JUST PUT YOUR NASTY FINGERS ON THE KEYBOARD AND CLICKING RUBBISH, Period! Go and ask for a proper demo, don;'t just click with 2 fingers and judge with your ears and eyes...Judge with your fingers because in the end your fingers do most of the work. If you straight away click click on the demo or worse, the stock that is for sale, 1) you look noob n rude 2)its not your keyboard yet mang 3)shop keeper or assistant would be cursing you inside their head.... Ask nicely for a sitting demo and try to type naturally like you would on your table. Type away for like 5 minutes and try the next switch that your are interested.... Mechanical keyboards are basically the same, the only difference is maybe the keycaps, illuminated or not, goodies that comes in the package and the package itself. Most plate mounted feels the same most PCB mounted feels the same. So again, select the switch then select how much you are willing to spend on your tools... QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Dec 10 2013, 07:04 PM) Source: Meaning that this 'kit' is actually a set of keys (produced NEW) which resembles the original Cherry keyboard keycaps but made to fit modern keyboards such as Filco/Ducky?http://deskthority.net/wiki/Adapter_kit In summary, it's a set of keys meant for Cherry classic keyboards. It's for the people that want to use vintage Cherry corp keycaps on a modern keyboard like a Ducky/Filco. Sadly not all the keycaps will fit, hence why this kit is required to fill in the gaps. The color scheme and the font style is crafted to be as close as possible to the original. Don't worry. lots of people also were rather blur and overwhelmed about mkb when they just started. it gets much easier once you own one, then you know what we all talking about. or In order to fit those Vintage keycaps taken out from an old Cherry keyboard to fit a Filco/Ducky/QFR keyboard, some of the Vintage keys (which did not fit) is replaced with a set of keys which will fit on a modern keyboard? |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Dec 10 2013, 07:19 PM) The kit isn't a full set. meaning you would STILL NEED TO BUY! the entire Cherry corp vintage keycaps (for a full keyboard). The kit is only to replace the caps from the original, that would not fit a modern keyboard like a ducky/filco. The keycap width is different So meaning lets say I'd order a set of keys that would fit an old Cherry keyboard, I wont be able to use 'all' keys on a modern keyboard such as filco/ducky correct?Yes it is possible to order a custom sp double shot for the entire keyboard, rather than a patch kit, but a lot of purists, prefer having the original cherry corp ones, but with a patch kit aka moogle kit I believe it was 7bit who was selling it if i am not mistaken So the below pictures are the kit correct? all of the keys in the pictures will replaced their respective original vintage Cherry keycaps? So basically can only salvage the alphabets and number keycaps from the original vintage cherry keyboard? ![]() |

QUOTE(quovadis123 @ Dec 11 2013, 12:49 AM) Ur middle just put red. Since black and red feel similar except the heavier spring of black. Middle put heavier because stronger finger area...the pinky needs lesser force to ease while pressing...maybe just black middle n red outside...the numbers n numpad use brown while F-row n modifiers use blue click click.... brown got tactile feel.. Recently see this idea very nice. Or use green and blue. You change ur Filco middle to tacto-blacks (MX brown with black spring). |
